  6. I was up there again last weekend (1.5 weeks ago) right before the 4 day warm up. great off trail and good on trail snow. it isnt primo snow but VERY rideable and VERY deep in spots. didnt ride any rocks or crap and the base on all trails up there is very good looking to go this saturday am thru tuesday or sunday am thru wednesday from upstate ny, zip 12866 area. 8hr trip from my place, leave EARLY and get 2.5 days of last hoorah riding in! staying at passion quebec, all alone right now and want a riding-driving partner who likes on and off trail riding, exploring etc weather is still looking great thru mid next week before it goes well above freezing again CALL ME if interested, as late as 9pm 518-320-5704
  7. stayed at passion last weekend, will do so again. unclear if the area got any new snow in last few days or any upcoming either passion has cell and internet there for night time customer catch up stuff. KM31 doesnt have net i believe or cell i know for sure even when i am away my customers are my focus, w/o them i cannot goto quebec! ian
  8. she is singing COLD weather right now for at least next 10 days! when i was at auberge 31 tuesday at lunch the lot was snow covered well, trail down the hill too. how was it saturday at the daytona? bare in front of the restaurant or still snow covered?
  9. I was up there a week ago, sunday thru tuesday. sunday was choppy on the trail on 93, off trail was awesome, TONS of snow monday was mid 40's but fun on and off trail tuesday 93 was groomed great from valinouet to la chapelle, all orange trails were nice too. am was 28*f, 230pm when we left it was 60!!!! its getting and staying COLD there thru mid next week at least with SOME fresh snow. i'll be heading back sunday thru wed/thursday for sure! i havnt rode in quebec anywhere, ever, past late march. I'd be surprised that they would still groom in the monts BUT with the bash the following weekend i THINK they would? Ian
  10. will doo. i am certain it will be good off trail fun, OK on trail riding. not primo mid winter conditions of course. between the locals i have spoke to lately, my recent trips there and the chillier weather on the mountain vs saguenay itself the trip should be a fun time. by thursday it WILL be VERY warm on that mountain i believe. MAYBE a cool down early the following week but the WX models are goofy that far out
  11. on fcmq they just updated that most of that area is closed and limited
  12. NO GOOD!!!! was in lamalbaie 3 weeks ago, scratchy until higher elevation. was in baie st paul this ppast weekend till monday, no good until up higher. 3 and 378 were shot from that juntion to la malbaie. we had alot of fun off trail in the mountains there, lots of snow but on trail lots of sunburnt spots, signs down, tree's dangling around
  13. ah yes, i know her screen name now. actually pm-d her last night for some insight.
  14. i have them ready............ sounds like a good time! what is her screen name again?
  15. monmt valin, scooby raid, pelchat, saguenay area updates please? thinking this sunday thru late week for final hooraah! on-off trail. ran into 2 guys outside of bai st paul yesterday where 378 and 3 come toghether. they said Monts Valin was deep and nice. mont st anne to la malbaie is all but shot. short tretches of OK and not much to write home about. LOTS of brown spots, limbs down, signs fallen over. getting from the town of baie st paul up into the hills, first 10k stunk........higher off trail elevation trails are great though!!! 2+ feet snow easy
  16. are the valving changes working OK? did you get to try a different cross spacer on the dual rate fronts? have fun man! ian
  17. I have launched there and rode from there before, even 3 weeks ago. it was a mess IMO then, late the week of 2/20. we headed to matane for the next 3 days after. a bud ofminereturned to RDL tuesday and said there was some snow but not as nice as 5 days prior when they left for a saddlebag trip i appreciate your idea,i do, but will pass on RDL for now............
  18. The C-C club does such a great job in that area, sad to see them get the short end of the stick. Its alot like New York, 75% of the clubs take the money and run.......... whats a reliable weather source for your area or QC in general? I look at 3 different sources, all of which are WAY different! This is the first time in years i had to really think out where to go in Quebec. maybe i am overthinking it but the weather stinks......
  19. leisurely riding with my teenage daughter, looking to ride either place, same hotel sunday thru wedneday. weather for those days looks good BUT right now rain in those areas. IS ANYONE there now or will be to confirm trail conditions? wanted to do l'etape but no good place to stay............. dont want to truck her 8+ hrs to monts valin thank you!
  20. why not choose a bettre location less populated with tourist riders?
  21. that club does mont valin itself, right?? down to passion quebec and "off" the mountain? my experiences with spring riding up there is just as you said, if nights are below 28 or so they groom at night, any warmer.....forget it! why bother really, the 38 to 40*f day temps and march sun kils the snow fast
