  1. Comfort Inn next to Tim Horten's. Pretty sure there are signs on TQ5 to get to TH. Hotel is just down the street past the gas station. REALLY nice steak house walking disatance from the hotel too.
  2. Where is Devils mountain? Ihave heard about it and seen pictures but have never been there.
  3. I read earlier this year the saw mill is open this year between LSJ and Ciboogie. I'm sure someone who knows for sure will chime in.
  4. We stayed in a Comfort Inn there. Just down the street from Tim Horten's. The trail comes right to TH so easy in and out.
  5. I may be wrong but I think Lac Joncas is the one that burned in 2006.
  6. That's too bad. Nice place to get a bite and warm up. If I remember right you can make it from Val d'or to Belleterre or to Moffet on a tank of gas.
  7. I talked to a friend that rides there often. He told me there was two fatalities. One was a crash on 4th Lake and the other was a heart attack on trail 5. Sad either way.
  8. That about covers it! One thing I do recomend as far as cloths go is to vacuum seal at least one set of cloths. The sealers that you use to put food in. That way if you do end up wet some how you know you will have something dry. Zip lock bags work good but they can open up in your saddle bags sometimes. My brother helpled some guys one time the ended up in a bunch of slush at a river crossing and ALL their cloths were soaked. It turned out ok but could have been really bad. As far as Mcguyver stuff nothing beats a new Bic lighter or two in your pocket!
  9. AMAZING!!!!! As always Groomer your pictures are great! Now lets see some of the Groomer in action! FROM THIS YEAR
  10. I would tell my story for you from the Hotel Chiboogie........ if I could only remember it!!!!. Yep it was one of those nights for sure!
  11. I would not recommend going to the Ontario side. The bridge you have to cross is a steel grate. Carbides might not like it much. Even with wheels on the skies it would be tough. I don't think you will be disapointed with DumoinValley.
  12. Found it Dumoine Valley Guides.
  13. Not sure the name of the place but the guys name is Eithan his number is 613-586-2300. There is a trail right to his place. He has a main lodge and cabins. He will cook breakfast and dinner if you call in advance. Prices are not too bad either. VERY nice people and a great place to stay. We have unloaded there a few times also. Just make sure you have a 4 wheel drive truck to get out . There is a big hill you need to go up.
  14. My dad and I stopped there one year. I can still remember the guys face when we showed up! It was like he hadn't seen anyone for weeks! I believe he hadn't because the trail had zero sled tracks, only moose and wolf tracks!
  15. I knew I shou have stayed there yesterday!
  16. I talked to the former partner/owner of the outfitter on Friday. He said this year will be the last winter they will be open. Not a good sign for the 386 trail from Swisha. It is a great ride up there.
  17. Yes that's the one Mid Range! But I do like the walking distance to night life idea Rmk! Thanks for the quick reply guys. We are heading there tomorrow from St Felicien.
  18. I can't find the post but I have read something about a place on a lake. Don't remember who was telling about it. Any one know what this is ?
  19. Looks great! We are heading to your neck of the woods in a week or so. Maybe we'll get a chance to meet in person.I will keep you posted on our progress. Leaving from Montmagny.
