Snowfarmer- I'm part of the banker crew. Coming in from the east 63 dumps you out onto a plowed road for just a few yards. 63 then takes a hard left and there is a trail sign right there indicating that. Looking straight ahead on the road you can see the Trout Lake Lodge. There were no signs, or at least none that we noticed for the lodge. As banker said it was no more than 500 yards down the road.

I'm pretty sure we ran into you and your son at the sawmill on 93? You guys were on your way up from St, Felicien. Clayton, right? We were the group of 6 that came in after getting gas that were talking with you. Sounds like you had a good ride as we did. You'll be right back at it next year. Good luck with your surgery.

Trout Lake lodge is open. Our group of 6 stayed there the night of 2/6. Excellent place, great food, and very friendly. They do have gas, but they don't advertise it other than to the people that stay. If you needed it, I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you out. Trail 309 from Belleterre to Val d Or needed a good grooming on Sunday the 7th. There was a lot of traffic on it probably due to the free weekend.

You are correct on the location of JC Bou. 93 goes right through the entrance to their driveway. We stayed there a couple of times with the previous ownership.

Thanks for the update guys. We have a good bag trip planned for the first week in February. We start out in Mont Laurier going west on 63 to Truite Lac then up to Val d Or then heading on to Chibougamau and down into the Saquenay area. Trails look like they're just beginning to open in the Abitibi region. It seems as though I'm checking trail conditions by the hour because we really don't want to reroute. At least right now it looks like we only need to reroute day 1 as we can now get through Senneterre.

Does anyone know if the gas station in Miquelon re-opened? I read where it was supposed to under a new owner. I haven't seen anything on it since last year. If not, is there going to be gas in Desmaraisville still, or is it on to Waswanipi?

It does not matter if you have a DUI its not a federal offence as long as you tell them its fine
DUI is a felony in Canada. Your DUI in the US is considered a felony in Canada. You can take a chance. You may get through, you may get pulled into immigration. If you are pulled in and your DUI is less than 10 years ago, you will likely not be allowed in, and will be flagged in their database. There are a number of ways to gain admittance and google can provide you with a lot of information.

The old rail bed trail, Petit Train du Nord / Regional Trail 325 no longer passes through/by the village of Mont Tremblant. It was shut down in that area around 2005. You may want to consider going up to Saint Donat, Saint Zenon, or west over by Mont Laurier? From Lake George to Saint Donat is a cinch to drive.

The last time we stopped there for gas we went into the store and got some snacks. Our group was standing around the sleds eating and one guy left a bag of chips on his running board. We looked over and the starving dogs were making off with it. My brother went in and bought a bag of dog food and dumped it out in the snow for them. Best day of their lives. The advice is right, gas and go and make sure someone or a couple of someones stays with them when you go into the store.
