MrGutz
I just got that offer from Spot the other day, it looks real good. I have been wanting a SAT Phone to compliment the Spot and this would do both. GutZ
Trailblazer
http://www.findmespot.com/en/index.php?cid=126 Still a G note for the phone with the minimum "double time minutes" promo by month or by year. If you plan to use the phone outside of 2 months of snowmobiling then there is justification, cause face it we are 85% if not 90% of the time in cell phone service areas riding. Just a few roaming charges or a Canadian cell package purchase certainly does not make up the cost of a sat phone for what we do, on a recreational level of course. I am a Spot member too Gutz, Spot did not send me any info on their new product, I just happen to browse the site a while back and stumbled onto it, one other feature with the phone, it's able to receive text messages but unable to send. It can be plugged to a laptop or tablet and be used as a modem to access satellites and voila, Internet on the go. Cool.

Trailblazer
Timbo There is a data plan part of the intro promo for the phone, how it works or how they are charging not 100% sure, probably consumes minutes on your plan but all your questions can be answered here. http://www.findmespot.ca/en/contactus/
