Just had another accident here in NB very sad.

The Northeast District RCMP is investigating a fatal snowmobile collision that occurred approximately six kilometres east of the Governor Lodge near Route 180 west of Bathurst on December 21, 2013 just before 5 p.m.

A 45-year-old man from Bathurst was killed when his snowmobile collided with another snowmobile that was stopped on the trail. The victim was thrown from his snowmobile and another snowmobile following behind ran over him. Another person was injured during the incident and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. The name of the victim is not being released at this time to allow for proper notification of his family.

Just saw a news article from Val d or where a guy lost his life last night. Very sad my condolences to his family.

A snowmobiler's 47 years lost their lives at the end of day, Sunday in Val-d'Or, when his vehicle struck a concrete block.

© archives the accident occurred around 17: 00 on Albert-Rivest road, near route 397, close to the Val-Senneville.

"A man who was travelling to snowmobile struck a block of concrete at the end of the path and which was covered with snow. He was ejected from his snowmobile. He was taken to hospital where his death was found", said Christine Coulombe, spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec Sergeant.

A collision investigator was dispatched to the scene to try to determine the exact cause of the accident. The identity of the victim has not yet been made public.

Very very sad to see these accidents.

We ride with 'blind faith' and this is what can happen to any of us. We trust that there is nothing in our paths as we speed along.

My condolences to his family and friends.
