  1. This is no good to hear about but if it makes the trails left better maintained so be it. Although I hope the cote nord trails stay! at the end of the day Quebec still wins for my choice when comparing to other areas (Ontario mostly) since the hospitality is hands down better. And for the most part the views are better, especially on the eastern portion of QC. And most times the trails are better maintained even if they are not what they used to be.
  2. Looks like fun to me! 😀 but maybe not on a 129” like you said.
  3. Yeah we did it on 2feb; noted it in the st Ray report. there is a pylon on trail 330 to note the crossing or a crossing. It might not have been the official one as it wasn’t exactly at the end of the 951 just slightly before the end. It might have been a trail for a cabin as when we crossed the river we ended up right at a cabin but there were tracks right to the 951. if your coming from 951 I don’t think there was an obvious marking but the trail or driveway was clear. There was a gate that was open. Where we crossed the river there were trees on it, so well marked and it was safe. no pictures but hope that helps. There were a number of crossing in the areas too so I bet you’ll find one to cross! I have the gps track somewhere if you really need it
  4. Yes, what do we need to do to keep it going?
  5. Yeah those stairs were like 15” or more. Tough on a good day. And not to mention all bedrooms were up there so everyone had to make the climb. Nice chalet at the roquemont though with heated floors, hot tub and a rain head shower. So the stairs were worth it!
  6. The mistake was taking 3 oest to st ray. Trails were a mogul fest. Now I like a good challenge and a few moguls always make a ride interesting (and warm ya up some) but 100 kms of bashing moguls along the hydro line are a tough sell. All the while crossing the quad trail, the horse trail, and the skiing trail over and over, then adding in 20 (or so) road crossings with traffic. Good to know for next time avoid that whole are even on a Tuesday! Trails were yellow in the clubs defence but a groom wouldn’t hurt anyone. so we made it back to st Ray - roquemont. No fiddle but the chalet tonight, which is awesome with a hot tub. food again was great! 1460 kms over 4 days of challenging trails. Not as much off trail as I would like but great trip. now we wait to see how the truck starts!

  8. Day 4 on the trails. Tadousac to St Ray. 335 kms - 200 kms of moguls (or so). left Tadousac this morning, down to the ferry across the Saugenay river. Was great visuals. the trail not so much. Trail 3 west turned ok then not so good then worse. till la mabaie not bad and even some great fast sections. Then from there to st urban not great especially coming down into st urban. It’s basically a sheet of ice. Great views though and only could imagine that trail when conditions are good made it in for gas and then back up Mt des florets (area). Then onwards to the relais where trail 3 meets 378. Nice place for a club sandwich! trails then were great for a short stretch then we made the mistake.
