Wow Mrs Ice, great adventure and wonderful pictures. Wife and l hope to travel the Gaspe on our Spyders in August. My wife is an avid kayaker. Is there any place you came across on your travels that rents kayaks ?

Mrs Ice paddle board Gaspe/New Brunswick 2025 What a wonderful journey that is coming to an end. For the second year in a row, I started my vacation in Gaspésie. I left on June 24, sleeping in my car and paddling almost every day. The river water here is crystal clear and cool! There are lots of rapids in all the rivers, one of the main reasons people come here. Many people join in and leave as they please, and that's pure happiness. It's all about simplicity and spontaneity! Here is my itinerary for the last few days, accompanied by a jumble of photos and videos! June 24: Drive to Campbellton, NB. June 25: Descended a small section of the Kegwick River, beautiful, wild, clear water, brown bottom, whitewater (16 km). June 26: paddled down the little Cascapédia River, 20 km in the morning, where my partner put his fin on backwards and forgot his paddle at the bottom of the river in his car! 😂 The water is crystal clear, with several rapids and a threshold that got the better of me this year! June 27: departure for my first real SUP camping trip with my big bag and everything on the Bonaventure River. Thanks to Michael for coming to take us to Big West. 37 km to go to reach our campsite. R2-R1 and whitewater! It's not the same riding with a big camping bag, but I adjusted quickly—I had no choice! 😄 Thanks to Sylvain Bélanger for introducing me to it! June 28: We packed up our camp to meet Cindy at the St. Alphonse footbridge. We have 3.5 km to go. The meeting was at 10 a.m. With 22 km to go to get to the car, we had a strong headwind, gusting to 45 km/h after lunch until the end! 😩 No choice! Then we meet up with the rest of the gang! June 29: It's raining, so we find something else to do. We had breakfast at Tim Hortons and chatted for a while.. After a few stops, we hit the road to join the others in St-Florence. June 30: Descent of the Causapscale and Matapédia! It started off steep, with some doubts, good rapids, lots of rocks, but it was a great discovery! 32.2 km on this magnificent day! July 1: descent of the Nouvelle River, 27 km. A fairly technical river due to log jams here and there. You really have to be careful and sometimes take the flat route (less water or less current) to stay safe! We had our first mishap with a fisherman who kicked someone's board and caused them to fall into the water in the rapids. Pretty normal, the river belongs to everyone! You have to understand that in Gaspésie, it's salmon fishing country! We have to preserve good relations. When we approach a fisherman, we blow our whistle and ask him which side of the river he wants us to pass on! It's always worked well, except today! 🙈 So tomorrow, my little last one, which I repeat because it's magnificent, the little Cascapédia! Then I'll go home with a full heart, an empty head, and a charmed spirit! Lots of laughter too!! 🤣🤣

Good morning Quebec Riders, Happy Canada Day to our Canadian Members and Friends. I registered my sled this morning, and made a donation to Quebec Rider Dot Com. Have a good day.

A group of us were at Grand Nature in the Gaspe last Thursday night, the owner was struggling 3 days before the official opening to find enough staff. I realize it is a different type of place and geographical location then Repos. However finding good workers to come and stay for multiday shifts, or drive in on remote roads is a huge challenge. There is certianly not the bike traffic in the summer saddlebagging to create the business sleds do in the winter.

I can't express enough how much I miss the trails from 30 years ago...when you could spend a day riding anywhere 250 miles away and find a place with a full staff ready to cheerfully do or get you anything you needed...and they really cared...a time when we all made a lot of friends...many people sent out Christmas cards...and everyone had plenty of help...driving North and hitting the trails felt like going home for the holidays...it made Quebec my favorite destination...and most of all that was the norm...not the exception...it was the very best hospitality on the planet

Wow, is this the 3rd or forth team in there… it’s a great spot… something must be tough there to keep changing management .., and it’s one of the most strategic locations and very important to trail infrastructure… hope they make some good improvements.. it will be interesting to see what happens…

I purchased my permit last season through the Murdochville club, will again this season. I believe it it is very important to support these more remote clubs.
