Imagine if Taiga could install a sound track that played out the sound of a two stroke triple triple!

Ford currently does this with its F150's running on those ecoblow engines. You can use forscan software to shut it off.

How about a wind mill mounted to the front bumper.

A stretch...but while at a gas station fueling up during moose hunting season, a fellow pulled in towing a utility trailer on which was a 5 cubic foot freezer and a small generator which was running to keep the freezer going. The small generator would burn very little fuel. Tow one behind your electric sled and charge as you go. Works for locomotives too - diesel to dc electric.

  2. Some nice places for sale there. Given the upswing in prices of vacation property in parts of Ontario, you could buy one of those lodges listed for the equivalent price of a summer cabin - or camps as we call them where I come from - and not open them as a business - use as your year round vacation home.

    Hi Mike,

    sweet wrap.
3 hours from Stanstead would put you in St Raymond.  The place to stay is the Roquemont.  I consider it safe.  From there you could go to L’Etape and back one day.  La Tuque and back the next day.  Day 3 would be your choice.   I know you said basecamp for the first time, but if you felt like it you could go to the Saguenay day one and base camp 2 days there.  It’s 180 miles from the Roquemont to the Saguenay region straight up 23.  Plenty of options to stay up there.  Most use the Delta.
    George

Depending on how much you want to spend, in the same area with trail running through the property is this place:

    https://www.auchaletenboisrond.com/en/

The roquemont is basically a motel - as opposed to having your own chalet/hot tub etc.

    https://www.auchaletenboisrond.com/en/cottages-for-rent

English spoken, cook your own meals or order in. Wife will like it much better. Plenty of trails. Fuel in St. Raymond or bring your own gas cans.

With regard to the St. Zenon  mention above, snow if more consistent north of the seven falls area. Try this place:

If you like crossing the border, you might consider that the pollution you are spouting here might block you for life as a violation of Canada's criminal code or tie up your travel here for years while a panel or commission made a decision. Here is the "outlet" for your consideration:

    https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/csj-sjc/crime/wd95_11-dt95_11/p2.html

    Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

The RCMP does not use the category "hate crime" in any formal way. However, some hate crimes are clearly addressed by the National Security Investigation Sections of the RCMP. Criminal, political or religious extremism, for example, can take a form that most people would recognize as a hate crime.[5]

Not to beat the wasp nest with a stick...but my future border crossing friends...keep yourself clear of these "elements" that have come to life lately...you might be getting a few extra questions and checks at the border...

Further, in a separate interview, Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said the federal government is “reflecting on what additional measures could be taken” to protect Canadian democratic institutions from future extremism and violence on display in the U.S. this past week.

I am not picking a fight, arguing, or anything of that nature on this forum with this post....just be aware of what you might be running into trying to cross the border in the future.

Is the village St Jean Port Joli? Think it maybe the Le Massiff ski hill you see on the north side of the St Lawrence.

You are correct sir!....I remember you liked that area a couple of years ago now I think. The first picture is the trail to La Pociatiere and that "pingo" would be seen from hwy 20. Incidentally if you are planning to stay in one of the motels there, make sure this trail is open as the geography does not lend itself well to low snow conditions and it is the only sled trail out of town.  The middle picture is on a main trail south of St Jean Port Joli.

OK ...close by where ? BTW the pics are all from the same general area...iceman seems to need some cheering up...☺️

    on·o·mat·o·poe·ia

    Learn to pronounce /ˌänəˌmadəˈpēə,ˌänəˌmädəˈpēə/

    noun

the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named (e.g. cuckoo ). the use of onomatopoeia for rhetorical effect.

    for instance in snowmobiling -

brraaap - recognizable sound of revving 2 stroke sled engine.

bleeting - wounded animal sound of those whimperers unable to cross border to the best snowmobiling in the world.

I am sorry you are clueless.... I don’t know what media outlet you use ( or what country you are living in) for your info but I would suggest your check around a little better. But then again if you are happy that the fix was in for Biden, good for you. I stand up for my country but our media , big tech and a large percentage of the political establishment is corrupt way beyond what I ever imagined.

After having given your response some careful consideration, it would seem to me that if you have no faith in the institution that decides the leadership of the world's second largest democracy (United States) or in much of the other of the governmental establishments, then perhaps we north of the border should pay some attention. It would follow that we would not want the taint of this corruption to flow into our country.

Your institutional criminal record keeping being suspect, perhaps much further scrutiny at border crossings is warranted - instead of the usual wave and "have a good time" we should more rigourously investigate any drunk driving, drug dealing, weapons offenses, wife beating, assaults...in fact anything which is equivalent to Canada's criminal code and would therefore prevent entry. For life.

We should also be wary of vehicle registration...are ownerships, insurance, and vehicle condition acceptable to our standards? We can't be sure according to the various registration systems from whence you came....perhaps a stringent search of vehicles and trailers for contraband or weapons "for personal protection" is warranted. You must get that "border security" show down in the U.S.

Should vaccination against covid19 be mandatory for border crossing...how do we really know those confirming certificates are real?

Extrapolating further, as it seems like the majority of anti-maskers, anti-safe distancers, anti-vaxxers, gun toting protesters are registered to vote as Republicans, maybe we ought to start a check list about this affiliation as well...although there are some good ones.

There are those that will start the usual bleeting about the economy being depressed with so many turned away, but we're just fine thanks.

“Failure of this experiment”?  Over 74 million people voted for him,  more than any other sitting president in history and bringing attention to all the corruption by politicians and judges and FBI who live in the swamp, that by itself was worth having him in there. Biden will do nothing but drag them all back into office and it will be back to business as usual which means nothing will be accomplished other than taxing us more , fuel prices will go back up and on and on....

There were 81,282,903 votes cast for Biden and 74,223,030 votes cast for Trump. By your way of thinking, your favourite sports team might lose a game 7 to 0, but in your mind, the team that got 0 has won the game. Many Toronto Maple Leafs hockey fans are delusional this way, so it is not uncommon.

  11. The process to vaccinate everyone in Canada is going to take many months - projected up until September. In the meantime, even those who are vaccinated are told to continue with the social distancing, mask wearing etc. If you do get vaccinated, ensure you have "official"  documentation. In terms of future border crossing, the anti-vaxers are going to have a hard time of it.

Well you do have a bunch of unmasked camo  body armour  Semi automatic weapons .

    Fixed it for you......Big difference.

Pretty easy to convert at least on the Fabrique National C1A1 with which I am familiar. Now way out of date of course. You gotta admit though, some of those round magazines you see in the pictures hold a pretty large number of rounds.

  13. Don't go all nuts but something to think about....some of our U.S. friends may be receiving the vaccine in the near future...the province of Ontario announced they are providing certificates showing you have received shot 1 and shot 2 (Pfizer) as the vaccine is not compulsory, although not having been vaccinated will ban your participation in many activities -theatres, bars and the like.  It is likely that other provinces will follow suit. Make sure your vaccination comes with documentation as one of those activities banned without it may be crossing the national border.
