  1. Taking advantage of the great snowcover this season to ride some new areas. For me I can say almost all my riding is done north or the Rivere Sainte Laurent. The exception being Gaspe of course. So this week the plan is to ride alot of Chaudiere and explore a bit of Montergie and Cantons de l'est. Day 1 Sunday Feb 16 Left home this AM and trailered down over the Pont Laviolette in Trois Riveres. Met up with Scorpionbowl in St. Gregoire just south of the bridge. Thanks to Gaston for taking the rig back to the house where it will be safe and sound till we call for a pickup next Sunday. Snohorse, Scorpionbowl and I headed out at 9am. Went west on TQ5 next on TQ 45 to 532 and on to the 519 and then 510 to 505 to 515 Thru Granby. Confused yet? Cause my head is spinning. TQ 35 to A late Lunch and Gas in Waterloo on TQ 45. Back north on TQ45 to Roxton Falls and local Orange trail crossing back east and south to 521 and back to TQ 35 into Valcourt. Trails a bit drifty here and there in the fields but nothing too bad. Beat up a bit here and in the surrounding area of Valcourt but was lots of traffic I guess due to the Gran Prix this weekend. Sitting just across from the BRP Factory feeling out numbered but I am used to it. A sea of yellow crates visible just outside the Motel door. A good day for sure. 225 miles. Iceman out.
  2. Total here about 5" from the storm. Sorry but i cleaned hot tub off already.
  3. I was't there. But if i get there I will.
  4. And speaking of sad news. I heard from my buddy Pierre the service manager at my Yamaha dealer, my old 08 Apex was stolen. This past weekend. I met the new owner and he was loving the sled. He was having lunch in St. Gabriel de Brandon at the resto pub there, went out to have a smoke and was just in time to see his sled going up the road toward the trail. Middle of the day the Whole thing on Video. Black ford pickup pulls in a guy in black helmet and black suit gets out of passenger side. Takes screwdriver punches ignition starts sled and is gone in less then a minute. Rest in Pieces my old friend. Bet they were surprised to see close to 60k KM on the ODO.
  5. Yeah all good she got greased up and inspected. Pulled one hole on the limiter strap and off we go. Going sunday to Chaudiere for a 7 day ride. Ready to rip it up.8408 KM on my "new" sled so far.
  6. The new Tuner Skis on the 2014 models are pretty damn good. I have used simmons only in the past and was ready to put them on the new Apex too. However the new tuner skis are great.
  7. Yes Ok, good spot there for sure. Sunday Morning we will be dropping in just south of Trois Riveres and over the Pont Laviolette. Will be riding for a week in Chaudiere.
  8. I was not talking of grooming, just breaking the giant drifts that will be out there. It will be probably sunday or monday till any grooming i think. You are at Universal? Mikerider?
  9. Another longer video explaining the Dampeners more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OyKnJdR4FQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  10. Those pics are bringing back memories of being in Matane. Waking up to that 3 days in a row. "one day I spent a week in Matane." No one is going very far for a couple of days till they bust them trails open with the groomers(without the drag).
  11. They are offering the Chassis Performance Dampeners free on Snow Check Apex, Vectors, and Venture(fuel injected). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R43mzM4hE5U&feature=youtube_gdata_player Seems interesting.
  12. The School break up here is not until first week in March.
  13. Feb 14 24F Snow and Windy Snow started late last night, very windy hard to tell exactly but i will say about 4" so far.
  14. Yes, Once this season and it happened when I was at my dealer to drop it off for service on the way home from St Raymond by truck/trailer. Sled was hot when we loaded it in trailer (clamshell) and then next morning was frozen. They told me 5 minutes in shop with some heat it started right up.
  15. Looking like A dumping headed for Gaspe. Would not want to be there now. Maybe next week after they clean it up.
  16. Yup I know right where you are talking about. I believe Scorpionbowl made it thru that way once. I am pretty sure that is the VTT trail. It is quite a shortcut if you can do it. So you backtracked after not finding the way to 93? And were that close?
  17. Yamaha is gonna milk this deal with Arctic Cat for all they can. It worked great they sold tons of Vipers. I am not writing them off anytime soon. Yes disappointing this year again but I believe you will see something new and totally Yamaha it might not be next year either but they are not gonna give up on the sled market. Gonna see a chassis with these Performance Dampeners they are working on for sure. Time will tell. Yamaha for sure does what THEY want where as I do Believe Bombardier actually listens to what their customers ask for and try to give them what they want.
  18. Is that the one just outside Baie St. Paul on TQ3? Fully Involved. Damn just put a sticker there last week.
  19. As far as the Apex and Vectors go "if it aint broke don't fix it". Glad I got a 14. I can wait.
  20. Someone posted there that the last time they saw this done was back in the 90's. I know its not often but not sure exactly how long its been since the ice has been good enough to get out there to it.
  21. picture from CMIQ guys were able to ride on ice to "the Rock"
  22. All in All sounds like quite a Run with added adventure, nice one. I would still be in the deep snow awaiting spring to be free.
  23. Abitibi has got it going on. No doubt about it.
