  1. If every thing goes as planned I should hit about 2500 in Quebec and maybe another 400 in New York. I only usually get to Quebec 1 or 2 X's a year. But that will easily top 1800, that is my previous best. Winter is my busy season at work. Work sucks!
  2. This is the Harracana near Val D-or, great place. Where we stayed that week there was no other place near by. We ate dinner there 3 times that week. The second pic not the the coldest but I think it is still a cool pic, back at home people think that we are crazy!!
  3. I agree it was interesting to ride there a few years back. Lots of people and sleds, mostly on weekends or as I called them weekend warriors. Trails got beat to death! I did not ride in that area last year, but the last couple of times that I did the traffic was very low and the trails where smooth and fast. It is still a very nice area to ride with lots of places to accommodate your needs. I am just trying to show support for all the regions in Quebec, as they are all an important part of Quebecs incredible trail system!
  4. Very well said!! You know summer comes and I say to myself looking at the trailer (I think I am going to sell out after next winter, exchange rate is bad cost to much to go! Bla bla bla) then the fall weather comes and forget it!! All that comes to my mind is going back to Quebec. Same with this year, I thought I will just go to New York this year. Started reading posts on this sight and now I have 2 weeks planned for Quebec! You now why? NewYork is just not good enough!! If you want to ride and enjoy yourself you have to go Quebec.
  5. Same warming hut! Very cold -30F that morning.
  6. This might be the best warming hut in Quebec! The guy who owns it showed up while we where there! At least I think he owned it (slight language barrier). Very nice guy, this was near Val D-or. Not exactly sure where!
  7. Looking for cell phone service near Val d-Or! Didnt find it there!!
  8. Valins again! I do not think it gets any better!
  9. The wife & I overlooking Clermont & St. Lawrence.
  10. 1st time trying to upload pic. dont know if it worked.
  11. I was not sure where that region was located! Just found it on the map, turns out I drive through it everytime I head up to Quebec. How is the snow coverage in that region? Snow always seems a little thin when we drive through. Do you have more pics of this area? This might be something to consider if I do not have the time to drive as far north! I am from SE Pennsylvania and some of the places I have been to are 10 to 15 hours of driving depending on the weather.
  12. I agree with everything above! My first trail riding experience came in Quebec, and after three years of that I started riding in New York for THREE YEARS without a Quebec ride. WOW was that stupid! I finnally went back and have not registered in New York since. Again the scenery the trails the hospitality and even in a bad winter there is still plenty of snow in most areas. After 11 years of day trips out of one place I will be saddle bagging this year. Cannot wait!!
  13. I too had a DUI in 1992, my first border crossing was in 1998. I have never been asked any questions about committing any type of crime. Since then I have crossed 1 to 3 times a winter no problems. You need to have a passport, I think that really helps as far as the questions that are asked. You also need to be quick and precise with your answers. You need to know where you are going, how long are you staying, do you have alcohol or tobacco, ect. You need to know the answers to all of the questions before you get there. You also need to be nice and respectful, that goes a long way!
  14. I am also looking to upgrade to a Polaris Turbo! Anyone heard of any problems with this engine? Cold weather starting? Turbo issues? I have not heard anything bad which means it is probably a good engine. I did hear that the fuel milage is the 18 to 20 mpgs. Does this sound correct? Any info would help. By the way Mid Range Nice dragon.
  15. terrible season for me 875 + 91338 = 92213 Dont forget Mrs. 60IQHO 875 + 92213 = 93088
  16. I would like to thank everybody in Quebec, who makes our journeys up there never forgettable. To all of the restaurants, and Hotels and everyone else that cater to snowmobilers, and to all of the clubs that put all of the hours, planning and effort into making the trails awesome. I started riding up there in 1997 and I cannot get myself to go anywhere else.
  17. I talked to a couple this past week, there E-TEC blew up at I think 800 miles, and there replacement engine now has more miles on than the original did. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the e-tec but there was 1 bad one. Which in my book they are looking pretty darn good.
  18. It took me a long time to see a moose, I think it was 2005 we where heading west on 318 toward the Cabanon & we finally saw 2 of them on the trail. No pics till I got the camera out all I got a picture of was the ass of one of them, I have not seen any since.
  19. I also am going to the HI on March 8th. I take it you are riding out of there every day. It is just me and my significant other. If you dont find anone else to ride with we could hook up. Look for me on Sunday evening, I have 2 white IQ 600's.
  20. Greasemonkey, I think you are wrong! 9 days, 2100 miles and I dont think they hit a single bump! Great pics looks like you two had a blast.
  21. I will probably do the Duty free again, sometimes the ease is worth a couple of cents. I did ride this area last year for three days. We found ourselves on Valins the first day and we went back the next 2 days because the riding was sooo good we just could not stay away. I want to go around the lake and try to find the cave and also look for some other interesting places to ride in the area. I cant wait!! This has been one of the best years in a long time and have not been able to ride because of circumstances beyond my control. Be there soon, I am counting the days!
  22. I really never thought about my Credit union down here. I will call them tomorrow.
