  1. I'm getting ready to go riding in Quebec in a week...and even after all these years in the saddle...I have benefited from all the posts in this dialogue...it's hard to read and look at all these pictures, but also refreshing to understand how much we all can, and will benefit from the reminder of our responsibility to each other while on the trail. I think everyone on here understands that, I really appreciate everyone's input here, a lot of great perspectives on reality.
  2. 250 for a chin strap… no warning from this guy….guys on the wrong side of the trail are a big issue… so is a power hungry cop nailing you 250 for that… I really love the bush… bet that doesn’t happen much at Gouin Reservoir
  3. Canada Covid tests have kept a lot of people home and a lack of snow has many people riding a small area with tight twisty small trails… a lot of traffic… and not a lot of snow… and the corners are solid ice… not a good combination… Tug Hill has too much traffic under normal conditions… it’s out of control this year… with global warming… it’s going to get worse… northern Quebec is looking better every year
  4. I I have as many years in this sport as just about anyone on here ....or more.....today my friend lost his 21 year old son to an accident on Tug Hill...a few weeks after purchasing a camp up there...I just posted about that bad taste these accidents can leave you with...this is the closest to home for me....certainly leaves you with some time for thought...this is a great recreational sport...albeit it can be a dangerous one as well....everyone be safe...
  5. One of my friends sons was just killed in a head on crash on tug hill this week 21 and just getting married…..No words to express how I feel….
  6. unbelievable cannot express how much safer I feel a couple hundred miles out in the bush away from these folks with no experience ...may heart goes out to this gentleman...and he's sorry the engine will arrive late??? I hope he has a complete recovery...seen way too many accidents over the years and it always leaves me with a bad taste...stay right and be safe
  7. I can’t figure it out, pretty clear the consequences of not staying right, sad situation for the people doing the right think especially out in the bush with no help…people should throw their keys away when ever they have the chance…. That should become standard practice… or take their gas cap away
  8. Great idea heading 595 and 597....you aren't missing anything on the south shore, other than black top, happy trails.
  9. Don't worry a few more trips with play hard should take care of that!!
  10. Great message… just be patient… we have too much snow… no such thing… another dump or 2 should really help the spring riding
  11. I saw gas like that at the old Lacasse pumps...and Jack wasn't happy
  12. is he shoveling around the corner to the grille...
  13. I ran Gouin to Obe 2 years ago at 30 below alone, trail only goes to one place maybe 55 miles...no big deal for a group with guides...
  14. I’m definitely coming to Halteparce this season… best hospitality in the whole province and I really missed that place… feels like home
  15. I think Anydyman And Steve will be heading thru there this week on there cross Quebec tour
  16. Could only happen to you...does Andre's sled have a spare belt??
  17. you will be there on........2-22-22.....write something good on that calendar for us!!
  18. trail looks about as good as it can get, I should have went with you, be well, Bob.
  19. heading up hill above Kanawata so I'm going to say you are in Casey and that picture intentionally doesn't let Andre see 8000 rpm and 90 mph!!
  20. Never closed my business for even 1 day for any of this and we stayed very busy and everyone got overtime...people were thrilled we were here...way past time for everyone to go back to work.
  21. Unless someone on here has ridden it recently local knowledge in Septile would be most reliable it gets reasonable maintenance to Harve st Pierre but once you cross the Mosey River heading east weather and wind play a big part… many people turn back… when you head this way you are leaving the daily FCMQ in the rear view mirror…. Proper planning prevents piss poor performance… do your homework… your life may depend on it…. Go with someone who has done it… then there are the stories when the weather and trail cooperate and it’s another ride… most on here who are seasoned know better tha that
  22. Nice pick of the old wide track...things have come a long way...those shoes were part of the necessary tool kit you needed to carry back then.
  23. I’ve built a few performance sleds and many custom heat exchangers, get the hoses off both sides of the sled up front and put a hose on one side and see if the tunnel flows, fast easy and simple to eliminate.hopefully by now somebody has taken the radiator cap off and verified no exhaust or compression leaking into the cooling system superheating the coolant. Has someone put a pressure tester on the cold engine to see if a crack is opening up under temperature and overpressurizing the cooling system and filling it with air causing a system to overcome the limit of the pressure cap and pumping it out on the ground… I’m with Alain on this one… I would really question how the water pump was tested… if they plastic drone gear in the block is damaged or an impellers is loose… something crazy here… I had a friend put coolant in and he dropped the aluminum seal from the container into the reservoir causing a restriction… that’s outside the box… I don’t want to say anything negative about any repairer…. But this is nuts and bolts… I’ve done this for nearly 50 years… and I never give up on a customer… hasn’t been looked at by the right guy
