They really did a beautiful job...something to be proud of for sure, nice craftmanship

sometimes you get lucky, and it's the little shit that can be a disaster, nice to carry a spare oil cap and fuel cap, easy to do, stops you dead when you need one, years ago when things were simple, spark plugs and a belt and that was about it, today these little things can take half a tool chest and 3 hours to get to...and you end up leaving your ride behind in a foreign country...for something cheap and easy...good thing this sport is a lot of fun.

I hope those guys are getting hazard pay, you don't get to make too many mistakes doing that

My 850 backcountry is breathing a little easier today!!

If he hasn't broken it ...it's a good testament to how good it is...I'm sure he has tested the breaking point !!

SEASON BACK ON!!
-
Very common failure on cars and they almost always fail on the cold side and stick open leaving you with no heat but drive-able...you won't need a loan to pay for this job...very lucky diagnosis...I think I'll get familiar with the location on my sled...never seen one stuck on a sled...but it's small and cheap and easy to carry ...never ends.
-
Years ago in a cold winter I got to drive out to the rock on my sled...that doesn't happen much anymore, I was surrounded by old Indy's all now antiques...I will try to find that picture for posting.

Really great stuff here...about as good as it gets from a key board position!! -
Real men doing that job for sure!!
-
And there is a guy from Parent an older fella who is a regular at the bar at The Central who has a 1988 Indy 500...with 35k...and it's pretty worn...but still runs well....pretty amazing how tough some of these sleds are...you get out into the bush and there are some old high mileage sleds still running every day
-
I've seen some pretty high mileage 4 strokes in Quebec....lots in the 25k range...saw a Yamaha vector with 35 on it....but the most I've seen...an rx1 in Mount St. Pierre with ....51k on it, getting the valves adjusted and carbs cleaned...the guy told me....the only thing he never has to replace or work on ...was the engine!!
-
so that cuts the exchange rate in half...nice feeling
-
See those smiles..they won't admit it ...but that's that ski-doo feeling..even when it's parked riding double!!
-
12 k miles… using a lot of oil… overheated a few times… poor ring seal… worn bearings from being run low on oil…. And the operator only knows 2 throttle settings… on and off…. Sled otherwise looks brand new… 2 choices… throw it away and move on…. Put a new engine in…I’m going with the later… my guess…4900 Dollars… sorry Chris.

Thats some funny shit....and a week has gone by...and all the parts are still there....good thing it's not in Manawan....it pays to be the Ambassador of Indigenous Affairs!!
-
I always like to have a few extra days in addition to the plan...the more I ride...the more I realize...when I'm on the trail...I don't have to be anywhere until I get there....this attitude gives you the freedom to really enjoy every minute of the trip....especially after being locked out for nearly 2 seasons!!
-
4 out of 6...doesn't sound very random to me...sounds like 70% !!
-
Hope you have a great time in Play Land!!

In august when it's 95 and humid we will all be dreaming about how nice winter is..we are putting AC in the shop this spring...done with working in that weather.
-
Mike , time for ski doo absolute zero jacket...-25 will never stop you again...
-
You really had a tough trip between all the new snow and the coldest week in years… and being locked out for even a coffee… would have really been hell if not for Andre’s camp and Jean Guy’s camp… precisely why no traffic and grooming daily in the north…. just the same, it was still much better than work… when we go in March it should be much better… and maybe the no eat deal will be over… here’s to hoping!!
-
Mrs Ice… we are all looking forward to the pictures of Don operating the vacuum cleaner and wearing an apron in the kitchen
-
Best wishes for a quick recovery, only good part of this is Don doing all the cooking and housework… enjoy your break… Don you have some big shoes to fill!!
