“Ultimate Arctic Cat Journey” is Complete
with Warm Welcome in Thief River Falls

Bob Steeves, an avid Arctic Cat snowmobiler, has talked about snowmobiling from his home in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, to the Arctic Cat plant in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, for the last 40 years.
Last week, Bob, 80 years old; his son Lorne; good friend Trueman Copp, who is 74; and Trueman’s son Trevor completed the more than 2,800-mile, “Ultimate Arctic Cat Journey” to Arctic Cat’s headquarters in Thief River Falls, Minn. The journey was completed on three 2018 Thundercats and a 2020 Riot 8000.

“We ran into so many people who recognized us when we stopped that were following our journey. It was amazing,” said Lorne Steeves. “We had no issues with the sleds, they were bulletproof.”

The journey took them from Moncton, New Brunswick through Quebec where they crossed the Ottawa River into Ontario. In Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, they met Arctic Cat dealer River City Motorsports who drove them across the border. Once in the United States, the foursome headed across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan into Wisconsin, and then into Minnesota.

When they arrived in Thief River Falls, they were greeted by current Arctic Cat employees and former executive and Hall of Fame member Roger Skime with a banner signed by the plant commemorating the epic journey, took a plant tour, and enjoyed dinner with members of the Arctic Cat team.

“We had such a warm welcome from everyone at Arctic Cat. I’ve never met such nice people than those working in the Arctic Cat plant,” added Steeves.
The memories of the two-and-a-half-week journey will last a lifetime and is a true testament to the passion for the brand that only Arctic Cat snowmobilers understand. #UltimateACATJourney

Joe,     Spent hours looking up places to stay in Maine and there isn't much. I agree, PI Convention Ctr.,  and the Caribou Convention Ctr., looks the best of anything out there. I am guessing??? the  Caribou Convention Ctr. might be new.  (Wow, have we been spoiled staying in Quebc).

My go to spot in Maine is the NORTHERN DOOR in Fort Kent. Gas station next door, restaurants within walking distance or by sled, police station next door to get trail pass, border crossing across the street into New Brunswick, Trail access to all points N/S/E/W. Skidoo/Yamaha/ Polaris dealers nearby ect. Also cross border from the border trail on the east side.

Hotel is clean, great staff, safe for trucks and sleds.

And the border trail opened up that had been closed for a while. ESCOURT STATION.( ITS92, Allagash

  3. Well I think you created a PERMANENT GROOVE in that entire trail system this season. No More gps needed 😂.

Really enjoyed following your EPIC adventures this year for sure. Finally meeting you and seeing that RIG of yours at the Le Cabanon in February was a Trip!!

Enjoy the WIND the next couple of days, be safe and get home to your family for some well deserved RR!!!!!!!!

The “good news” is Quebec Bob and crew are alive. We pulled into Haltaparache within 1 minute of each other. GREAT to finally meet you Bob !!  They were in Kanawata yesterday afternoon and turned around 10-15 miles north as snow was pushing over the hood on barons 850 Expedition. Good move. They stayed in Kanawata where we are now having lunch.

    And you guessed right......

Last thing Dennis said to me was he’ll keep my club sandwich in in fridge until Dec 27 for my return. 😂

  5. Just came from Quebec riding 8days.

Have to say people are OUT OF CONTROL!

Riding center left, blowing turns, 2 wide Johnny racers thinking they are the only ones on the trail system ect.

Had 2 instances where I was almost wiped  out.
People really need to check themselves and start riding more responsible!

Something actually got messed up with the oil pan.  Dealer who did oil change messed it up.  Think he was on trail around 10:30?  Not sure if it's a permanent fix  our not.

    Only on a snowmobile trip!!!!!!
Hope everything works out for you guys.Didn’t expect that situation out of Gero, and furthermore junk fuel out of Repo.

All four stroke sleds all ski doos.  Not picking on a brand.  Two 1200's one 900 turbo.  900 turbo is still down was a rental one full day at dealer and resolution to the problem.   Btw renters of snowmobiles if your more than 100 km away from the place you rented from your on your own and hope you get a good dealer.

How did Chris make out with his sled?

    Oil leak fixed?

And there in lies a major question. Is it his lawyer reviewing police reports etc trying to find a loop hole?, or is it this scum’s  account of how the police handled it? If it is the latter then if he was sober enough to remember how his arrest went down, he was sober enough to know what he was doing when he attacked his victim and IMO should make it clear he can’t duck out on the charges claiming he didn’t know what he was doing.

Scum bags like him know how to play the system and use bottom feeder lawyers to keep them walking the streets.

Hearing some disturbing info on this. It’s possible he may get all this thrown out of court. Apparently his rights were not properly administered to him upon his arrest by the police, therefore violating his constitutional rights. What a bunch of utter bullshit.

But, this gem of a guy also is being charged in relation to another incident. He was removed from the Festival Western in St. Tite this past September for being too drunk. He was taken to hospital by police where he then proceeded to punch a nurse squarely in the face severely breaking her nose. She is still unable to return to work due to migraines she continues to suffer since this incident. Evidently he was not charged then but there must have been some kind of probation deal where he could not get in trouble for so long or could be charged.

    Just unreal.

Not surprised another PIECE OF SHIT is allowed to roam the streets!!!!

    Flat out RIDICULOUS!!!!!

Once more thing before we go

Guy and his wife riding two up just came in from Kanawata where they stayed last night.

They report no rain until st Michele and already 7-8 inches in Kanawata and ,,4-5 inches at Repos

Personally I would wait 2-3 for storm and grooming to produce OPTIMAL trail conditions

Hit it then and you will NOT be disappointed

    PEACE

Your not above St Michele screaming up the lake heading to AUBERGE DU LAC TAUREAU. Get after it HAHA!!!!

Have seen Rush 63 times and have met them several

Have a HUGE 30+ year memorabilia collection that was probably worth a new snowmobile Now I think it might be worth two new ones

Still raining good here at LeCabanon at 11 a.m.

Have only seen two sleds pass here in the last 1.5 hrs

About 30-40 people anxiously awaiting the rain to change over to snow
