  1. Hey Fuse, I would go all the way down 595 and stay at Le Francis, then head up 597. The downfall is that the trip on 5 between 595 and 597 is not all that memorable, although the steak there rivals the bavette at 100 Lacs, and the shower is much nicer.
  2. That was tres amusant. Merci jean guy pour le fun Same some neige in dannemora aujourd'hui. Wont be trop longetemps now.
  3. One last ride for the year, the annual family long weekend at the basket thong. The weather cooperated nicely. Kept the rides to less than a couple hour jaunts. Managed to put almost 400 miles on the buggy. Visited Sainte Anne du Lac, Mekoos, Notawissi, the Mitchimanecus through the Menjo, crossed the Lessueur and Petawaga ZECs, took le Chemin de Parent, le Chemin LePine, many trails and roads in between. We saw the results of at least a dozen successful moose hunts, some large, some small. Here are some pics
  4. Looks similar to the one between Martin’s and Clova. We hit that stretch last year and I thought it was a little tight then, I can just imagine what that “tunnel” looked like this year when you went through that area. It too bad you guys are so far from us, I am always looking for people to ride with. As Ike mentioned, I can certainly appreciate the need for an extended run to make the 8 hour hike worthwhile, I am just not sure about an 8 day ride.... I am in for sure, the rest of the gang not so much... I would really appreciate if you shared some more tales of the route and any other info about the top side of the reservoir. I think that might be next summer’s escapade. I have been considering how to include the Pelchat trail in a side by side run, but I think that would require at least a 4 day loop.
  5. We put another ride on the books this weekend. Marineau’s to 100 Lacs. Took the southern route out on Saturday, 360 to 33 and the northern side on Sunday, 33 to 345 and good ole M20. 30 degrees Saturday morning, 210 miles later we were enjoying the classic flank steak dinner we agree is tied with Lac Faillon for top outfitter meal in Quebec. Sunday was a little warmer and shorter, 180 miles, finished with the disappointing A&W in Berthierville. Leaves are almost peak in some areas. Lots of hunting in the zec, looks like some prefer just cruising on the ATV, all we needed was some blaze orange and we would have fit right in, minus the rifles and what not...lol
  6. I understand that the top half had tough internet connections, but I know that Clova, Kanawata and 100 lacs have good WiFi...I am dying for an update and some pics of your trip
  7. When we had lunch at the Rabaska today, a group of European’s were just getting off some sea doo’s. We thought to ourselves I bet that was a short ride...lol HOLY SHIT it was way too cold for that!
  8. I have to hand it to you Ike, that is a sweet itinerary. I have never run the top side of the reservoir. Crossed it by sled years ago and had a glance of Optician from a distance but that’s it. I need an extra day to hit that far up, maybe next year. The “humidity” helped keep the dust down this weekend...lol. Post some pics of your trip when you get a chance. I didn’t take too many myself this weekend. Here is what I have
  9. 1200 mile loop, sounds pretty serious. We are also headed up that way this weekend. New windshield wiper has been installed, looks like we are going to get wet on Saturday, bring the rain gear. Sounds silly I know, but make sure your prepped with the cold gear and wind proof layers. It doesn’t take much to make the ride suck when your wet. I expect a full trip report with routes and destinations upon completion. Have a fun time. The hunters will give you dirty looks when you ride by them, but in all reality they are not supposed to be “road” hunting. If you see safety ribbon strips draped at the head of a trail it means there is someone using that area as a stand, try to avoid that area and you should be all set. Using the iQuad maps alone will not give you the best picture of what routes are available. Keep the iMotoneige app handy and you can use it to find alternate routes that way
  10. Congrats! Good looking new steed in the barn How many miles did the old one have on it and what did you Doo with it? trade or keep as a backup?
  11. The red rig does not appear to have moved Trailblazer was talking about pulling off the Pipmuacan loop. I have to imagine that your raptor would fit nicely up to the Pip. I believe the entire Pelchat trail is ATV friendly
  12. We did not get into the bunkers, I have heard about them and even found a video once, but I do not know how to access them. If you told me where the entrance is I will check it out next time. Did you head up to pipmuacan yet? I was looking forward to your ride report, including snacks....😀
