  1. About 100 miles if memory serves
  2. Good question Ice, I can’t remember for sure, I don’t see any pictures on my phone and that goes back as far as 17, so I am going to guess 2015 or 2016 was the last time it was groomed from Pensive to Clova by Dom. Damn time flies Good point Pipeman, I thought 83 west would be operable by now, but good ‘ole Imoto shows yellow with logging just before Faillon. Bummer for sure. Add insult to injury, I read a post from Alliance du Nord stating it didn’t look good between Clova and Parent again. I guess Chris called it. I still have high hopes for that stretch of TQ 83 this year.
  3. Word out of the pensive this morning says it’s open now. Sweet baby Jesus… le sentier des draveurs is back to life.
  4. I used to love curious George…😂 I was going to comment on your temp question on your last thread, sorry I forgot. My experience on both the 900T and 900R has been around 170F. In loose fluff and cold air temp it will dip down to 163, and in hard packed icy base it will run up over 190 once in a blue moon if she’s breathing heavy after a long run then you get into the tight woods. I think 1 time I saw 203, no bells or anything yet, so I stopped and unpacked the ice out of the tunnel.
  5. No shit, I wish I would have realized that. My wife mentioned to me that night that while I was outside you had said you thought we had met before in Clova in seasons past. When I said I could hear your tunes in your helmet, I really thought you looked familiar as well, but I didn’t want to keep staring at you guys. Cheers man. Let’s meet up again in Clova! Small world really. I think I am going to put my screen name and a QR sticker on my helmet
  6. Ice was putting it nicely. It’s downright a pain in the ass to get into. The local trail is a bike path to get into the heart of the city, then you have to cross a busy 4 lane street at an odd angle with a median to get into the parking garage, where there is a cage to put your sled into, that seems like putting a Rolex into a paper bag….😂 but once you jump through the hoops you get to grill some bread on the grill at Pacini while you wait for your meal, so I guess it all works out. Plus you can catch a movie at the theater in the same building.
  7. Yes they have a place to eat. It’s not huge so space is at a premium. Gas pump on site as well.
  8. The misses said she wanted to go for a ride, so we hit the road ASAP. Wednesday we toured the Mitchi via the Horseshoe and Cent lacs. Today we went over to Club Gatineau. Kevin is really putting in the work at Gatineau. Hats off to him. Highlights of the trip were meeting up with old friends Guy and Natalie, and getting to meet another fellow QR for the first time, Gaf and his crew from western NY. We enjoyed some good laughs that night. 🍻
  9. We were at L’Or Piste Friday morning at 10am. Charles was struggling to get the deep fryer up to temp, his handyman was working on stuff at that time, must have been when the generator started getting weak. I saw his comment about closed Saturday due to electrical issues. Yes I hope to meet more QRs on the trail this year, it really is a highlight for me when we meet on the trail randomly. I still remember that morning I met you and Eddie outside Gouin that time. Gotta get together again for sure. Happy trails and merry xmas fine folks
  10. It was a “Heck” of a beer as I recall. He was a legend for sure. Bernard is my name and sledding is my game. Straight classic character. Chris, you are definitely hard core. Not afraid to take the road trip solo. Cheers
  11. Headed Nord last weekend to put some smiles on. We experienced low traffic and heavy grooming, lucky considering the location and time of the year.
  12. I rode some purple today.
  13. Hi Rick, If you ate lunch there you saw the bar at the same time 😂 It’s not the Ritz-Carlton but I have always found it has everything I need. The old school house at the top of the hill is where the rooms are located. There is a common area downstairs that is a sweet spot to have some drinks and laughs with a small group. As far as access to le chemin Lepine from the south, there are a couple options depending on how the road gets plowed and what outfitters want to contribute. The Pensive is excited to groom from midway up, if Pourvoirie club Gatineau gets in on the action, which seems highly likely, you can access Lepine through the ZEC Petawaga via say Notawissi and points south. If le club des Ours Blancs decides to get in as well, we could access via Le Classic in Lytton. I heard that Andre from Entre Deux wants to keep Lepine plowed all the way up to his place. I love the guy, but I pray he changes his mind. His post said he would only plow half, so the groomer can have the other half. That would kinda suck. The road between Pensive and Entre Deux allows for a fair amount of throttle therapy. cheers George
  14. Awesome ride. I have never been on a trip that covered so many outfitters. You definitely get bonus points for the boat ride on the river before wing night. The sunrise and sunset there are hard to beat no matter the season.
  15. Local legend has it the waitresses can even make you feel a little froggy….
  16. Literally spitting horsepower. I love it. Thank you for the clips. We went to the poker run in Clayton a few years ago. My friend has a boat, not quite like yours…. but we were out in the channel when the big guys went by. Rooster tales galore. A little off topic but ah well… Such drastic differences between the St Lawrence and Lake Champlain. No current, warmer water, sandy beaches and no freighters to watch out for. Have you been on the south end of Lake Champlain with your boat? Start at the Peru boat launch and head down to the Old Dock for lunch, or for your rate of travel, coffee break.😂 The scenery between the ADKS and the Green Mountains makes that area a sweet place to burn some gas. Head over to Burlington for the night. Shit now I sound like a tour guide…. On your right is the birth place of our local lake monster legend Champ
  17. We are definitely going to need a video, that includes sound in order to fully comprehend the notes and melodies that come out the tail pipes on those twin screws. All kinds of extra plumbing in that compartment
  18. Shit now I understand why the SxS hit the back burner. Can you imagine if you had to fill that up at the Repos….😂. I am planning on running the north side of the Gouin this summer on the X3, that is what made me reach out earlier today. Might take a detour and pop out in Chibougamau for gas if I can stretch it an extra day. Let me know if you ever dip that baby in lake Champlain, might be able to meet up at the beach some day.
  19. Jeff, season is done unless you want to drive the truck to one of 3 locations. 1 Sept Isles 2 Chibougamau 3 La Chapelle parking lot How did the Kashima coated shocks work on the front of your enduro this year? Looked like a pretty sweet set up
  20. Definitely enjoyed following along, jealous is an understatement. Nice rip. West is best
  21. I was thinking about Lac Moreau, I had forgotten about Trout lake. They were kinda ball busters too, but it was a sweet place. Funny story. About ten years ago we stopped and ate there not knowing they mostly cater to reservations with full package only, so it wasn’t cheap and the food was pretty bad. As we left I asked about gas. It was waaaaayyyyy over priced, and I mentioned it, but needed it so we paid….So off we go back to the trucks. Long story short we went the wrong way for about an hour before realizing the mistake we had made. So we ended up back at his gas pump for another round a couple hours latter. The guy laughed a little when he said that I liked his gas so much I came back for more…lesson learned, never run your lips to the guy with the gas, no matter how bad he gouges you.
  22. The good ole ball buster… Le Balbuzzard Sauvage. Only the second place I know of that makes you take your boots off to come inside. Funny now that I think of it, the other place is also a log cabin. How is the snow depth between Faillon and Clova? Think it can survive another warm spell?
  23. 14 hrs one way…that’s no joke. I am sure you will be rewarded accordingly by the groomers and trail conditions in that neck of the woods. Post some pics of the run to Matagami. It’s been too long since I laid eyes on that west side of 396. Pretty sweet through there as I recall
  24. Club Piteman reporting that Lepine road is open from the Pensive up to Clova. Yes I did learn that info in facecrack, just not our sister station. Straight from the horses mouth
