  1. Rode from the Holiday Inn to St Raymond yesterday and it was perfect until about 5 miles from St Raymond. Snow a little thin around town, but I give the rest a 9.5.
  2. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Yes and I rode all day in it. Below the ski area almost all the snow is gone. Above it is fine. They have a great base in the Mts, Down low is pretty bare. Not much snow after the rain on Monday, just freezing rain and some lite accumulation. They need a few good storms in the lowlands before they can start grooming.
  4. Looking for Club Caribou website? Anyone help?
  5. We always said if we were only going to ride 1 or 2 times a year, rental is the way to go. Just try to get a good reccomendation on your rentals. Years ago a few guys went with us and got great machines, the next year one of them went back and got one of the same sleds with 20000 km, a real junker. Just check ahead.
  6. Any updates on the Farmer issue?
  7. I also say leave from Shawinagan area. Great ride to Mt Valin. Take the 3 trail up the river to the ferry and go 93 to the mountains. Perfect 2 day ride to get there. If you need more info pm me I will be happy to help. Steve
  8. Sorry Iceman but I did not like being told I ride on the wrong side of the trails becasuse I enjoy riding at night. I understand the issues for a curfew, I am a club president here in Vermont. We have the same problems. Please dont think all of us who ride at night are inconsiderate idiots.
  9. Hey Iceman sorry Im stupid, but there has been plenty of nights that my group has been back after 10 at night, and not because we have been drinking. Alot of times we just ride a lot of miles. I sometimes enjoy riding at night, not alot of traffic and usually better trails, some are groomed early evening. Please dont lump us all into the drunk tank just because we like to ride all day.
  10. Used 2 times, way too big for me I am 5-10 185lbs. These are for someone 6-1 210 or bigger. 200.00$ shipped. Steve Pics can be seen on Hardcore Sledder site clothing and helmets.
  11. Maybe the lookout 0n 93 east, past the Chaple?
  12. Trails above the ski area are still very good. Should hold up for a few weeks if it does not rain. We did 500 miles in 3 days seeing all the sites, in very warm temps, and the trails are holding up very good. Still grooming in the Mts, and it looked like they are grooming L Etape area. Steve
  13. Conditions are still good above the ski area in the Mts. We did 500 miles in 3 days seeing all the sites. Trail to Onachiway was good except for the last mile, Bras Louis is good except for the very bottom, 93 is good to Sacre Coure, but in town it is done, Rt 3 up to Escomins is very good, Escomins back to Mt Valin is very good. All the small loops in the Mts are very good. Should be good for a few weeks if it does not rain. Lots of snow, and they are still grooming. Steve
  14. My 07 600 went about 500 miles to a quart, sold it with 7500 miles. No problems, but scary low oil use.
  15. Have to agree the place in St Ubalde is a great place to stop and eat. We have been going there for years.
  16. Just got back Thurs from this area, withe upcoming snow, I think you will be fine. Areas around towns may a little dirty, but other than that should be fine. Steve
  17. Left Shawinagan Sun morn, not alot of snow, but groomed perfect. Rt3 was good to St Raymond. Next 25 miles thru power lines not so good, lots of traffic from Quebec City and high tmps made short work of the trails. Not much of a base for this time of year. From here to Baie St Paul very good, they have alot of snow, and a good base. Overnite at Hotel Baie St Paul, nice place good price. 230 miles for the day. Monday up Rt3 to ferry at Tadoussac, All trails fresh groomed, nice ride. Across the river to 93 trail, not fresh groomed, but not bad, plenty of snow. Went Ice Falls on the way up, nice spot. Took small trail around to the Chapple then on to Relay 31. First time staying at Relay 31, good food, small rooms no extras. Tuesday on to Relay Onatchaway. Had not been groomed in a few days, but not too bad. Left on secondary trail to Lac Vermont, heavy logging operation going on in the area, trail sucked. Got to the other end of the trail and looked back to see a sign saying TRAIL CLOSED, no sign on the other end? Went to Scoobyraid for lunch. Headed south back to 93, all trails in this area very good. Chateau Roberval for the nite. Wed. hit 355 to 73, 355 a little bumpy, but not bad. 73 to Riviere Pierre was very good. 353 to 302 a little light on snow 302 to rt3 was good RT3 back to Shawinagan was very good. 280 miles for the day. Hotel Safari for the nite. Thurs morn RT3 to Rogers Cabins for breakfast then back to the truck . 1040 miles total overall good conditions. We went thinking the conditions would be worse, but were happily surprised. Have to say that some of the best trails we rode on this trip were in the Shawiagan area. 800 Steve
  18. Maybe we will see you there, we are leaving the same day. We just dont know if we are leaving from Shawinagan or St Raymond?
  19. Has anyone gone from Shawinagan or StRaymond latly, We are planning to do this in the next few weeks. Or go up 3 to the ferry and the Escomins to Mt Valin? Any trail reports would be a great help. Steve
  20. Has anyone ridden this area yet? Rivers frozen? Planning a trip in 2 weeks.
  21. Bungee cords, and handwarmer packets. Both of these have helped us finish some trips.
