Universal tonight Ces't fini Too tired err full to fill in today Tres bon feed at Levesque No sexy bomb but highly recommend Valley Over the Moon Cab and how about that Maple Sorbet dessert .... holy hanna so good but so bad. 10. Ride we did... Pulled into the Selecotel just before noon. Gear on out the door shortly thereafter. Head staright to the Albertville Cludhouse and low and behold there sits the legend himself along with Linda sled girl and her hubby. Formal introductions all around. Obligatory order of wings served in snowmobile...you know your in snowmobile country when😳 Wings and a bev and off we go Iceman is in my ear....stay on 5 stay 5....587 its then! Jean-guy says 150 mile loop 587 to 5 near pointe a la croix and rip her back to Amqui. Leaving a bit late but whats a buck fiffty... we'll clip that off in no time RIGHT. Just before we leave Linda sled asks JG if there are any more local maps as she says we should take one. They are OUT ...no problem we'll run off our phones. Conditions great.... 587 is a ripper. Smiling like a madman...what 10 hour drive to get to Amqui. Blast off about 50 miles and its time for a trail bevie. Beautiful spot along the river at a t junction. Don't do it...looks like a shortcut. No no no. Well we did start late... Short cut it is....iceman is screaming now 5 you idiot 5 ya ya braaap Lets just say we saw some country we'll never see again. Bad decisions and poor signage aside did we get twisted up.... like my ear buds when I pull them out of the gym bag twisted up. Left right est quest tabarnak it has to be this way. What does the phone say? Into Valley of hell... best signs on the trail River Rain bistro / hotel. What ... the joints closed. Now where? Hey there's a sign on the ground. Phone sayz sign sayz wait this doesnt make sense. Alright u turn. Back towards the sign for Pointe a la Croix. Colice its 7pm when we finally hook up with the 5. Bar time.... ya Iceman i know i know. Yes linda we should have had the poutine with the wings 😡 We fly to Capuscal.... weatherman says, hey lets throw some freezing drizzle at the lads. Mondzi .. we're running on fumes here sled gods. Too bad for you....stay on 5 ya ya...into Albertville past the darkened clubhouse... good thing might of had a sleepover. Ok we can make it from here. Finally roll in at 9pm Turned 150 into 180 and change but hell we're riding. Wingman alredy expressing the importance of staying on 5 today ya ya 😳
  11. We're an hour out. So you guys are heading to jean-guys clubhouse?
  12. No quit in us. Damn the forcast. White lightening to Amqui it is. Ride today we will.
  13. Sadly no Valerie ce soir. May have to shove up the 20 in the am to drop. Could leave here tomorrow but fear we may not make it back. Prudent play says head further east in the am and drop there. Couple of more boisons and we'll have it figured🍻
  14. we are getting some weird looks as pass people but onward we go In Amqui at the select tomorrow if your still around. We will definately look you up if we make it to the club jean-guy. Do we know if there is still fuel available on 595?
  15. Heading to rdl tomorrow despite the forecast. Hope to leave the Universal and head east weds am. Amqui, Murdochville, pointe a la croix or elsewhere if need be. Gonna get some miles in somehow somewhere😁 Hope to bump into Jean-guy if the winds blows that way.
  16. Fear not mikerider....Valerie won't be lonely for long as we'll be swooping into the Universal to keep your stool warm for one more rip this Tuesday. We should be able to post her cheating with us right away as we'll be ready for feed and a cold one or several when we roll in! Be back at the Universal for a season ending cellie Sat night and that will it for us this year.....I think! Gowser
  17. Appreciate the reply Phil. Will check it out.
  18. Forecast looks good so booked into the Universal Apr 4 back there again on the 8th. Plan to head east but unsure of hotel access as I haven't stayed at any of the places referenced in the thread save for the Universal. Are the Select (Amqui) Hotel Cooper (Murdochville) easily accessible or are we going to have to run asphalt? Need a recommendation between MurdochVille and RDL for Friday night. Thinking RDL to Amqui via Matane? Amqui to Murdochville via Mont St Pierre? Murdochville to ??? that will put us with 300-400k or thereabouts ... Thanks in advance Gowser
  19. The more you ride the higher the stakes. Simply put you HAVE to expect to have a sled coming at you around every corner and over every rise. NEVER let your guard down. If you run the miles like my son and I do you can be pretty much assured your going to have a least one close call every time out. We run hard but stay right and I mean WAY RIGHT in all blind or limited vision corners and over over hills, we corner at safe speeds. Close calls still happen all the time as there is always some clown cutting a corner or riding way too fast for the conditions or their abilities. Anyway, there is inherent risk in everything we do. Just a shame that some take stupid risks or don't put any thought into what they are doing and how it endangers themselves and others. Ride safe Gowser
  20. http://fcmq.viaexplora.com/carte-motoneige/indexen.html Click services upper right corner and then click groomer delay Trails have been good by all accounts Gowser
  21. DooOver see link attached http://fcmq.viaexplora.com/carte-motoneige/indexen.html click services in upper right corner then click groomer delay and zoom in on the areas you want to cover. By all accounts both are good. I'm debating the same thing myself. Rode south side a couple of weeks ago. Ck RDL thread for update. I'm leaning North Shore this time as its a shorter drive for me. Universal hotel in Riviere Du Loup is a great spot to take off from. Enjoy ur trip Gowser
  22. Thats a bummer. Hopefully a quick fix is the works.
  23. Sooo thinking about heading back next thursday. Should be wonderful Enjoy
  24. Spelt it wrong in my post....Tourtiere is the proper spelling for the meat pie. We couldn't decide what we liked best. The crepe with the crispy edges, the tourtiere or the baked beans!
