This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. A low pressure system will track northeastward across Labrador overnight and Sunday. Snow can be expected over northern and western regions as the low passes. Snow will develop along the coast north of Groswater bay near midnight and persist through Sunday night. Total snowfall accumulations of up to 30 centimeters are expected. For western Labrador precipitation will begin as rain this evening and then change to snow Sunday afternoon. Total snowfall accumulations of near 10 centimeters are expected for western Labrador..However a slight change in the speed or track of the low may result in higher amounts. The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as additional warnings may be required. Schefferville 3:14 PM EDT Saturday 27 October 2007 Snowfall warning for Schefferville continued 15 to 20 centimetres of snow are expected over this area late this evening into Sunday late in the day. An intense low pressure system over western Québec will move northeastward to lie south of Fermont Sunday evening. This system has generated rain over southern Québec today; this rain is now moving toward our eastern regions. Further north, several regions will experienc rain changing to snow this evening or tonight as significant amounts are expected north of the track of the low. The snow will be especially heavy over the area of Schefferville where winds will even result in blowing snow at times. On Sunday, behind this fall storm, winds will be strong west to northwesterly with gusts to 70 to 80 km/h over many locations, mostly along the st. Lawrence and the Saguenay. Snowfall warning for: Schefferville Issued at 3:21 PM EDT SUNDAY 28 OCTOBER 2007 15 TO 20 CM HAVE ALREADY FALLEN OVER THIS REGION; AN ADDITIONAL 5 CM IS EXPECTED BEFORE PRECIPITATION END THIS EVENING. A MAJOR LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS HEADING FOR LABRADOR. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE FOR A FEW MORE HOURS NORTH OF THE TRACK OF THE LOW.
