Dropped down 360 a few miles and topped gas @ St Joseph so we’d be good to take the orange bypass and avoid Sunday riders in/out of La Tuque. Bottom of 355 light traffic and pipeline smooth on the northbound. Great timing. Light snow as we get to the train trestle, just like riding in a toy snow-globe. A couple of inches of fresh, premarked by a few sleds ahead of us, plenty of elbow room and we widened the marks to avoid single tracking. Topped gas @ the saw mill. So much for taking our time, lunch closed down before noon. (THANKS LOTS TO THE GENTS WHO GAVE US THAT BAMBI BALONEY AT DRAKKAR CUZ THE VENDING MACHINES WEREN’T WORKING EITHER!) While we were inside it started sideways snowing & windy. On & off neige from there. Not enough for drifts but plenty to hide the line in the open areas. Amazing hospitality from Victoria (our biggest “fan”) at the front desk & Melony (comfy in her own skin) at the bar made us forget quickly that the kitchen was out-of-order. Ordered in from Coq Roti and ate like Nights of the Roundtable in the Medieval Lounge.
