OUR 4 DAY RIDE 2/25-2/29

Recommended Posts

We drove to Richard's place in Mekinak on 2/24 & got there @ 10 p.m. Wed morning we woke up early & had breakfeast & were on the trail by 8.We got on 347 south & our buddies sled broke down within 1 mile (motor). We got a rental & off we went again & made it 5 mile's this time & the rental broke down.We went back to richard's & got another rental delivered & off we went again. It was now 2:30 & we wanted to get to the casino to meet Jim (jacstraw). 347,318,73 to St Raymond. We got gas @ the Roqumont when we noticed the crank case was leaking so we got a room & had another sled delivered & called it a night.

The second day we woke early & were on the trail by 8:30.73,3 heading toward's the casino. We passed the casino & wanted to get too Mt Valin for the night.Got to the river crossing & met 2 guy's that just came from there & said the trail's were not so good so we changed plan's (again). This time we headed toward's the HI in Jonquiere,3,83,383 & pulled into the HI @8:30 p.m. 393 miles, that was the longest i've ever driven & I felt it,we all did esecially my buddy on a 600 2up piece of sh** rental. But at least it didn't brake down.2 of us actually went out that night. :drinks:

Day 3.They were calling for rain so we made a quick trip on 83 & then a local trail right to the Chateau in Roberval. We finally met up with Jim & Eric :drinks:

Day4.Got a pretty early start & headed to Lac Eduard & then back to Mekinak. The day started off pretty bad for me because of the night before :drinks:

After lunch at Lac Eduard I felt better & so were the trail's! 83,355,73,360,347. 850 miles in 4 day's & some great trail's along the way.

I would like to say thank you to Jim for pointing us to Richard's place & riding with us.We had a blast & he is right,Richard is a super guy & will do anything for you.It was a pleasure meeting all of the people we met & hope to see you again on the trail's.

I will post some pix soon.

Thats a lot of riding in 4 days with 2 broken machines.

You guys rolled with the punches and had a nice trip. Congrats.

Actually it was 3 broken machines but who's counting.

Yes we really did have a great time & I hope to continue to go to Qubec riding for a long time to come.

When conditions are good, and sleds are cooperating... St-Raymond is a hard place to beat as a starting point. I have used it twice this year. We did 73 355 and back, then 23 to the HI and back. The intersection of two great trails, where you are immediately into the bush. I am eager to see your pics. Do these look familiar?

Yes,we've started at the Roqemont which used to be La Colline quite a few times & those pix look familiar. That is a very nice place to start.I forgot all about 73 until we got on it & I saw the green picket fence's.That was a great feeling! What a trail!

I hope these all come out.If they don't i'll let Clarkely post.Enjoy.

I put a little of everything in here about our trip, the excitemant, the agony of breakdown'S,flat tire's,out of gas on 78 (truck) heading home,etc...

At the end of the day I look back & can say I had a blast with my old high school buddie's & will never forget.

My grandfather once told me to never wait to do the thing's in life that you really want because when you get old you can't go back,so Live It Up!
