  1. That's ashame, we stayed there last year, nice place friendly staff, bit expensive but worth a visit.
  2. When we finally got to 132 we took the highway which was closed from Somewhere near Amqui almost to Riviere Du Loup. There was 6 of us and a couple from Ontario who tagged along, there truck was also in RDL. Made it through 3 police road blocks, got kicked off once but was able to sneak around and continue on! Promised the wife and kids I would be home for Easter!
  3. an apex 136" attack, that was fun getting out
  4. Easter weekend storm in Gaspe, leaving hotel, if you look in right corner of pic. you can just barely see what's left of red stakes.
  5. I think you may need to install a winch on your sled if you keep riding with pops! LOL!
  6. Easter weekend on the Gaspe' Rt. 132 which was closed and we rode from Mt. joli to about 10 miles from RDL
  7. The fact that I can park my truck and do a 1200 mile loop in less than aweek, not be on the same trail, and be smoooth the whole time! try that in the states!
  8. 83 West of Clova had no signs what so ever last year due to a reroute. We left lac Fallion to head to clova last year was supposed to be 100 miles ended up at 140miles my mach z made it, the Apex in our group ran out at 133, the 600 Renagade ran out 100 yards from Clova. Thanks to spare gas on sled.
  9. Last year crossing the border they asked us if we where ever arrested and I said yes. he asked for what and I said DWI 13 years ago. He asked if anything since, nope, then said have a good trip! Another time we got brought inside and searched along with the truck, my buddy got hassled for stealing a yellow blinking construction light when he was 18, 25 years ago. They never brought up the DWI and we where on our way again. I'm not worried crossing the border anymore.
  10. If it's more then 10 yrs. ago, don't worry about it.
  11. Do the Gaspe', if you have never been there you are in for a treat! I think they only problem with Feb. is it's crowded. We always go in March and it's been great. We leave our trucks in RDL the complete loop from there was about 1200 miles if I remember.
  12. Groomer, if I'm not mistaken I beleive the shortblock for my Mach came from your brothers dealership in Amqui, put on a bus and dropped off in Chandler.
  13. The 597! That's where I blew the motor in the mach Z last March. Had a new shortblock installed the next day at the doo dealer in Chandler. An awesome dealer for sure, on our way the next day under warranty to boot, total cost $50
  14. Actually it's about a 100 yards from the Riotel in matane, never any snow there it all blows away!
  15. HaHa, I just saw Phil out on the lake this past weekend!
  16. It's amazing how things just burst into flames as soon as the season is over
  17. This was the last year for the mach anyway, looks like a 4tek X for next season, It's going to be tough going from 170 hp to 120, that sled got great mileage, handled great and when you wacked the flipper at 70 it took off like a missle! At least that motor only cost $50 under warranty! The people in the Gaspe' are among the best, have always felt right at home out there. Would love to head back out there but heading to Negril in Jamaica at the end of the month to thank the wife & kids for letting me spend 3 weeks a winter in Quebec. Smclelan, we missed by days, when I saw your pics, they where all the same places we where at!
  18. Three of us left RDL on Tues. 17th after a 10hr drive, left at 4pm arrived at L'Empress in Rimouski about 7pm trails where great 110 miles. Next morning we took off at 8am for Carleton took the green trails till TQ5 in Albertville, rained the whole way. Stopped at Groomers clubhouse but they had no food, talked to Groomer on the phone and he was going to come down to see us but we where soaked to the bone and continued to Causcapal to a small Auberge for lunch. The owner was great, through all our gear in the dryer while we ate in our long johns! Made it to Carleton by dark stayed at the Baie Bleue. Next morning we where to head to Murdochville, freezing fog for the first 50 miles or so shields iceing up, finally clears beautiful blue skies. Have lunch and the first sign of troubles, my sled won't start, get it going and about 10 miles up cuts out and can't pull it to start. motor seized. After a couple trys it frees up and starts. Now it seems to run fine but look for Ski Doo dealer in Chandler which we missed the signs for and deceided to continue. Now on the 597 to Murdochville running good I mean triple digit good! Locks up and dies, limp back on one cylinder to the bottom of the 597 where we meet a couple of locals who live about a mile away. I drive down to the road and he went and got his truck and we loaded up and took me to the Doo dealer in Chandler. Wouldn't take a penny from me for the ride! That is one awesome dealer in Chandler, I got there at 4pm, by 6pm they knew the needed a short block and located one in Amqui, they put it on a bus and it got to Chandler by 1pm the next day, installed and on my way by 7pm! Not bad $50 for a new motor fo the machZ gotta luv warranties! Got to Murdochville by 9:15pm. Next 2 days where bright sunshine and beautiful trails. 994 miles for the trip all trails groomed and flat, plenty of snow. The ride from Rimouski back to RDL was real icy, if you where to start now I wouldn't start any farther West than Rimouski.
