  1. This passing each other without meeting shit is coming to an end Thursday night. Mon ami & I will be in the cabin right next to you. make sure you have plenty of alcohol.....LOL
  2. Ok then.....LOL....I’ll just have to sneak up behind you guys...... shooting for Senneterre today. Have a great ride wherever you guys are heading
  3. I don’t hand signal anymore because of my beloved “Ride Lite”.....but if I see that monkey coming at me this week I’m giving it the finger......LOL
  4. Ok....I think what I’m gonna do is capture a couple (should be relatively easy) and take them back to the finger Lakes region in NY and see if they multiply. LOL at the Central having breakfast with two locals 15 sleds in back parking lot....mostly Ontario Plates.....imagine that
  5. I sure wish we had those Jays down in the states. When I tell people back home about them eating out of your hand I think they think I’m making it up. Until I show them the pictures..... Alain......where are you guys heading for your “annual” trip this year ?
  6. While back at Lecabanon around 11 a.m. word is.......is was nothing serious and all is well. BTW.....trails and overall day were perfect and splendid. The ride across reservoir Taureau and Lac Villiers today with the sunshine, extremely low traffic and temps was almost surreal. Stopped at Kamawata, Casey for an hour (have new friends there) , Haltaparache (thanks Jean-Guy for the hot dogs) and now in Parent. 250 miles with my best friend in life today. Irreplaceable!!!!!!!!!
  7. Even talked him into a free hat.....
  8. As said dropped sled off at 430 at Gero yesterday just picked it up 20 minutes ago. New track all installed. Off to Parent...........
  9. The 111 miles is about spot on to St Felix. But just remember depending on when you hit if there is new snowfall you’ll eat up,more than normal gas.
  10. While we were at LeCabanon today from approx. 2-3 pm a police car and ambulance were out by the road past the gate. There was supposedly an accident but nobody including Diane and Frank knew anymore info If anyone does here please update us here and I hope whomever it was was nothing too serious also heard a guy from France died last week in between Repos & Kanawata by hitting a tree. Very, very sad.
  11. Ya know Jack I have talked to other people that say they had 1200”s and didn’t have problems and it baffles me. I’ve had two in the XS chassis ( 129 & 137) and they are both identical with the ice build up. I shit you not....I have probably busted out (actually banged running boards with rubber mallet) and dropped enough 10-15 pounders to fill up a pick up truck alone this season. Like I said....the colder it is the worse it is. Happens on my buddies 2010 XR 1200 too. IMO....when you buy a skidoo 1200 a 4lb rubber mallet should come included. if I had the time and money I would sue them and PROVE it happens under normal operating conditions. But I guess I’ll just take this one in the ass. The WONT fool me again and might possibly never sell me another Skidoo. Sad thing is that they don’t even care either And oh BTW.......about 45-48 of the approximately 50 people I passed today ALL hand signaled.
  12. Those pics of the Jays are incredible and your trail reports are a splendid read as always mon ami.
  13. Didn’t see a lot of people yesterday going to camp and we didn’t get there till almost 11pm But today was another story. Only a couple close calls today and one group of 4 around Masse that each dude came barreling down the middle one after another. It was sad but comical watching all 4 dodge right to avoid me.i was up against the bank as far as I could go. Came back from camp today to St Jean de Matha 130 miles. Sled back at Gero”s. Noticed this a.m. at camp 12 missing lugs on right track section only no damage whatsoever in middle and left section and those two sections look like the day they were new...albeit 6200 miles all this year from new. I had dealer install the new 1.5 Ice Ripper and while I love the performance of the track the ice buildup under my 1200 is surely what caused this. Our group of 4 (all 1200”s) each carry a 4lb rubber mallet and bang HUGE chunks out daily. The colder it is the worse it is. Was the EXACT same with my Blizzard 1200. I heard it rubbing late last trip one day but didn’t think this would happen. Guy at Gero tried to tell me I “hit something “.........BULLSHIT I did. And sled has seen maybe two rocks total this year...LOL Good news is Gero stayed late as we called from LeCabanon and mechanic said he’s coming In early tomorrow and sled will be ready by 10 a.m. bad news is I’m gonna be out 1000 US dollars just to get a stock 1.25 installed. They said they would call BRP but they are never gonna warranty this. I call bullshit again as there was never any misuse/abuse , ridden on 3ft or more of snow always, and problem caused by normal operating conditions. I’m so confident this is what happened I would bet the bank I could duplicate it in less than 1000 miles with another 1.5 inch. Simple....wait for the next really cold days, rip off 2-3 hundred, DO NOT pound out ice chunks like we normally have to do and it will build up and rip lugs off again. Last night at camp I whacked it hard on each side twice and I swear 4 pieces totaling 25-30lbs dropped out of there. I love my 1200 motors and everything the Enduro offers but I’m getting disenchanted with reverse, clutch and now this issue. Why is it always something........
  14. Ok......you didn’t think the “breaking news” was about my prime rib dinner did ya ? my friend André and I decided to shoot for the camp tonight instead of tomorrow morning so here we are at LeCabanon place is full tonight and word is.......Frank who has worked in the restaurant here for 24 years is buying the place Legalities moving forward supposedly this week. I wish him , Dennis & Diane all the best i think by the time I get to the dam I’m gonna regret having the third piece of prime rib trails holding up surprisingly well. Just got to get thru tomorrow before more snow moves in. Camp for two night, Parent Monday night then blasting west from there Salut
  15. I’m having something other than a club sandwich
  16. I didnt miss anything. I ride more right than the vast majority of tracks I see out there and often wonder why there are not more accidents.. And your taking my holy shit comment "out of context". Ever ride 150 miles at a very fast clip , see absolutely no one and meet someone at the crest of a hill or corner (where there is literally only inches on each side EVEN when both riders are completely on their own side) ? Happens to me EVERY trip. Over 100K in QC and never totaled a sled, ran someone off the trail or had any type of collision. I must be doing something right.
  17. Couldn’t have stated this better myself. And yes I do agree it’s getting worse. What I see is machines now having way more capability than what your average rider has. Otherwise they wouldn’t be cutting straight lines in the corners encroaching on your side and creating a possibly deadly situation.i guess shear stupidity and laziness comes into play often as well. I cut corners ALL THE TIME....but ONLY when I can clearly see and I will NOT be 1 inch on your side when we cross paths and YOU will not have to slow down or take evasive action because I did so. And apparently MOST other people do this as well as I see your fresh tracks on fresh grooming almost daily. I take with great seriousness hugging so far right in a corner which I can not see out of to the extreme. And I always try to keep in my brain this one little thing......if and when it happens someday.....and you know some yahoo is gonna side swipe you GET THAT LEFT LEG UP IN THE AIR off that running board if you possibly can the millisecond before impact. Yes CNC, I too have had to take evasive action multiple times this season but I’m used to it. Over the years I have had to go back south to LeCabanon parking lot or further south on a Friday afternoon more times than I could count. You wouldn’t believe how many times in a single hour it’s happemed to me over the years. It sickens me every time but I’m used to it by now.
  18. Don’t forget to use your blinker too and make sure your headlights are on people who don’t signal (by some method) while riding in the bush are ignorant, selfish & obtuse
  19. Have been waiting to reply to this for some time now. I have gone back and re read all of the comments here and agree with most and totally disagree with some like this one. We all ride differently and in different areas. I personally (nothing new for me) have had more than a dozen rides this season alone where I do not see ANYONE for 100 miles or MORE. And when I do it sometimes results in a “holy shit” moment. Being a “remote bush basher” I have always felt a moral obligation (to the best of my ability) to signal others while running these remote areas. In towns and busier areas is a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY and my outlook is vastly different. I have known about the RideLites for years and this year knowing I was going to be doing more big solo rides was the time to get one. As another poster mentioned “these machines are getting faster and more capable” and I for one admit IM NOT. Anything that can make mine or another riders ride more safe than I’m all for it. i am extremely pleased with it and it’s durability so far. My moral obligations are met, no lifting hands off bar and I feel I have done my duty while keeping both YOU and I as safe as possible. I still run into the occasional group in the bush who feels they don’t have (or want) to signal and to you I say “piss off” but most realize the importance and where they are riding and do signal. So while the above commenter said “they should ban RideLites” .........this is my take........ if I was “King” for the day I would immediately pass a law that all manufactures have one mounted on the sled upon build. i would also make it mandatory while riding remote areas with long stretches of “nothing in between” to have and use one. I could care less if someone is behind them and they don’t know it. Because that person too would have one on and it would be self explanatory. again this is all just my opinion
  20. DAMN.....I HATE the “truck” thing......it’s usually never fun or cheap
