  1. Groomer, now that is what we are talking about, can' wait to see you doing that again this year!! The Best RR
  2. Great Pics Jack. Nice to see the snow beginning to build RR
  3. Groomer, the snow at faribault sounds encouraging, we will know when you really get hit by when we see your big blue groomer out tburied to the top of the cab in snow and your still going!!! RR
  4. Groomer, it certainly does seem that the entire north areas got a good blessing of snow, all the best RR
  5. Crazy Snow, I had the original spot, and bought the spot connect this year, I tend to agree with the other reports, imo the original spot was easier to use, just a little more limited in function. The original spot you just activated the on feature, and track feature from the unit itself, it was more simple to activate. The spot connect you need to turn the unit on, than go to you iphone or droid (the droid is what I have) blue tooth connect the devices, than go to the track icon and turn this on each time you activate the device, a little bit of a hassle. The fixed messages are more robust, these dont cost you any air time to send and you can put in a custom message as well as your aware that does cost you air time, this can seem kind of frustrating at first, but does seem to work, you just have to wait up to 20 minutes before is trys its 3 sending attempts, usually the first one goes out ok with in a few minutes however. It does show you the progress on the phone if you have the patience to watch it. I was sending, waiting for the first message try to be complete and than shutting the phone back down into sleep mode to save the battery in the 0 degree temps we had up there. Hope this doesn't sound too confusing, it certainly is not as smooth as the first one, but is more versatile Best regards RR
  6. Pipeman, that is Smittys sled, he is very happy with it, I got a chance to try it out on saturday, it has wicked power, as you well know, all the way through .... as far as I dared to hold it.... It was still going when I let off . haha RR Crazy snow, do you a date set for getting to quebec this year? RR
  7. S Pump, Smitty and Denis rode again today, they wanted to make sure you saw this http://youtu.be/KJkQXD2XPSQ
  8. Gizz hope you can get on the snow soon, best regards RR
  9. S pump we have had a great time, wish you could havejoined in, a good 3.5 days and 740 miles of riding, but like all good trips they come to and end, we are headed back today, Denis, Smitty and Hambone are riding one more day
  10. Great video nh moose and scorp, looks like you have had some good riding, happy trails RR
  11. Our trip today was north and east of auberge 31, we made a 220 mile run up to on the Pipmaucan, east of where we were earlier this week,, our coordinates today were N49 26.820 w 070 25.814 a nice camp and dock on the reservoir, this was our destination today Today it was 5 of us and as I said earlier, we brought our fuel sleigh with us. we had a great variety of riding conditions from packed trail, to powder . Plenty of snow in this area, and the snow that is being packed down by the groomers and sleds is setting up nice and firm, below zero F temps have helped this greatly Great going here with fuel sleigh in tow I had to try out the cat turbo, wow! nice power and really nice breaking a track on this road this am Time to fuel up NH Vector fueling up his yeti today Hambone running the Free ride in the powder
  12. Phil, sm and crazy snow, hope you can get on the snow soon! happy holidays RR
  13. Trailblaze, they are two 20 liter cans, the range depends on the conditions as you realize, with a 12.8 gallon tank on the yeti, and the 10 gallons in the cans we count on a range of 230 miles to 300 miles range. The back case is not weather tight, but is large and you can put several dry bags in there. The cover opened up two days ago after dark as we were riding, in first time that has happened, tow rope ended up wound up in the track, not good, 30 minutes of cutting to get that out! Note to self, put bungy cord over top of cover. I have a new 2013 yeti coming, if It ever come in, snow checked but still not delivered yet, kind of defeats the purpose of snow check?? Today we head north with the five of us, we will be carring the fuel on the yetis and also pulling 50 gallons on a sleigh. This is the group riding today
  14. Scorpion bowl and nh moose, nh vector and I truly enjoyed talking with you guys this morning, thanks for connecting with us today, you guys are what snowmobiling is all about. Hope to see you again this winter happy trails RR
  15. We had great riding today, and it was awesome to meet scorpion bowl and NH Moose on the trail this morning, thanks guys for tracking us down, we had a great conversation and enjoyed meeting you guys We did some powder riding after we met scorpion bowl and spent the morning doing that, We had some good old team Maine worm holes to explore up in some of the elevations, nice powder here for sure Than this afternoon we hooked up with some good friends from Maine and did a nice 135 mile loop after lunch
  16. Phil 1 I am using an old digital camera, easier to take pics , fires up quicker in the cold vs my droid, enjoy your trip when you do get hereRR good stuff, as I mentioned, earlier, we appreciate being able to gather the info on QR does the sport a great service. thanks rr
  17. sno pro, we were carrying our own, didn't ask how much they were getting,
  18. good morning, a couple of inches of fresh snow last night, conditions are improving by the hour, groomers were out in full force last night, and yes, "Groomer" we will make sure to tread lightly on those freshly groomed trails . Meeting some friends here at lunch after a morning scouting run northeast of here.. Have a great day Plenty of fuel here at Pipmucan, 2500 gallons or so? Cabins look comfortable to
  19. It was time to fuel up at the Pip, there is pleny of fuel here, but we also carried ours, so we dumped it up after our coffee Mid afternoon soup at onatchaway hit the spot, and yes, there is even snow here!
  20. We had a variety of conditions today from great groomed trails, to single track running to fresh powder , just doesn't get any better! The aventure Pimaucan would be an awesome overnight or extended stay location, A newly constructed bar and dining area should work well for this winter season
  21. Groomer, I loved your pick of the 20 wide in the bush, you certainly know how to find a good worm hole when you want too! Today we left auberge 31 and headed for aventure Pimaucan, Thanks to MarksVT's post from last year mentioning that this was a good location to head for, we had great riding all day, putting on 230 miles and back to auberge by 6pm. Here are some of todays pics showing varying conditions, a mid afternooon soup at Onatchaway hit the spot as aventure Pimaucan was not serviing yet, there coffee was great though. Bras Louis was groomed perfectly this am, always a nice run! and the upper end of bras louis, though not ever groomed was great single track going too
  22. Trailblazer, crazy snow, and my old friend groomer!, yes those are 20 wides, and the its like they say, a picture says a 1000 words, groomer, Your pics are the best, we are just sharing some of the current conditions, hope to see you guys on the trails or in your groomer. All the best RR
  23. Here are some more pics from today, enjoy RR There is consistantly 10-18" of powder everywhere, with a fairly solid ice base underneath, on the untraveled logging roads where you are breaking trail you will occasionally click at rock on some of the roads that have an eroded gravel base, otherwise, excellent!!
