  1. Finally getting out for a week ride. Day 1 Sunday Left Relais Iceman at 8:30am. Snohorse and I headed out on the TQ 3 nicely groomed from home like they knew we were coming. Certainly did not feel cold at first that quickly changed. Up through Lac a Tortue and on to the TQ23 to St Tite. All groomed really sweet. Switched onto the 360 headed for St Joseph this one not as nicely groomed as the others but I have seen it much much worse. Burned on up to St Joseph took the gas and realized just how damn cold it was. Wicked cold. Left on the 360 and it was groomed out of St Joseph arrived to find the groomer continued our way on up the 355. Super duper 5 stars wow. All the way to the LT1 to cut over to TQ73. LT1 not groomed recently but very good. So far we have seen 4 sleds the whole way. Everyone with half a brain is inside somewhere. Right Turn on the TQ73 and off to the intersection of 355 for Lac Edouard. Hey 4 more guys at the intersection of 73/355 see ya bye. 355 is nice and big and fast. Made great time to Domaine Lac Edouard.(even using the go around to avoid the cold run up the lake) arrived at Domaine Lac Edouard at 12pm hmmm only 3 other sleds here on a Sunday. Oh yeah did I mention it's cold out? Took the gas, put the stickers, took some heat inside and off we go for Lac Bouchette. 355 is mint. Hauled ass up to Lac Bouchette. 2 hrs on the nose. Arrived there 2:30pm. Same old gas, heat and go. 355 to 83 very nice conditions here. TQ83 East to 383. Not bad at all just cold. Seen 2 more sleds. Wow. 383 not bad but not as nice as what we seen earlier in the day. Some parts real drifted but not unexpected up here. 383 to 23, same old drifted in spots but no worries. We will manage. TQ23 to the Local orange into Alma. Got Gas just past the turn for centre ville and some pepsi to mix with the Jack Daniels just the necessities. The off to the Hotel a Universal for the Night. Sleds locked up and unloaded at 4:45pm time to get inside. Ran into my friends from Thetford Mines Sophie and Yves staying here as well, 260 miles for the day. Damn cold ones.
  2. Gonna need a new sticker. To make it official.
  3. Thanks Mark. The article I saw did not give much details. I figured it must have been someone not familiar with the area. Kind of a big road crossing to miss.
  4. Snowmobiler killed this morning while crossing the Rt155 on TQ 73. Hit by a tanker truck. 30 something years old.
  5. Yeah we put down quite a few over there last year.
  6. Yes Florida Snowman was there last week. I think is 2.50 per litre.
  7. 30 Jan 29F 4" new snow Very much needed. Still snowing
  8. Nice to meet you guys too. Look forward to seeing you again and talking more.
  9. Nice run boys. Saw the new cabin at Windigo. Another successful mission. You are missing out JG. Windigo is great.
  10. Sad stuff, A man's got to know his limitations.
  11. I told Martine and Daniel you guys say hello.
  12. Windigo tonight. NH Moose and I left Shawinigan around 9:45am. Thru Shawinigan and up the perfectly groomed 360 to gas in St Joseph. Then up 360 still nice to the 355 the groomer headed off on the 360 but the 355 was still really nice. Arrived in La Tuque at 1pm Took the lunch and ran into 800steve and his crew doing the same. Left La Tuque after lunch and gas around 2pm. 73 North toward Relais 22. Nice trail but small not groomed yet since new snow. 134km from Gas in La Tuque to Pump at Relais 22.(note 73 no longer passes thru Auberge Vermillion and is rerouted making the Shortcut to/from Windigo not so useful.) Arrived at Relais 22 at 4pm took the gas grabbed a little heat inside and then headed for Windigo at 4:30. 45km from 22 to Windigo. Arrived at 5pm. 83 from 22 awesome looking real nice. Hoping groomer heads north from La Tuque tonight they say it's coming. Yup so is Christmas. Got Pipeman and his buddy Chris here with us just the four of us at Windigo. Nice. All in all things are coming together. Headed back south same route back tmmrw.
  13. Did a couple day trips here with NH Moose and today with Playhard. Sunday was TQ 3 thru St Etienne to 63 then up thru Lac Blanc to TQ 23 and back thru Shawinigan. Nice ride lots of sleds out and by afternoon trails were feeling the traffic. Today After the new snow here much nicer rode 3 east past Rogers Cabin(now reopened) and to 23 then back on 23 thru Lac au Sable and St Tite to Turtle lake and back thru Shawinigan Warning trails to the East of Shawinigan 3/23 etc saw alot of Ice on trees and now are an obstacle course of low hanging trees. Not a few either a ton of trees bent over gonna take a bit of work to clear it for Surfacers to pass. Seems like it was a lot more freezing rain just east of Shawinigan as here was mostly snow and no issues like we saw to the east and closer to St Raymond etc.
  14. Nice. Looking Good There. Keep it coming.
  15. Ok no more talk of the M20. Thats enough. Shhhhh.
  16. Nice. Did you go thru past Kanawata or thru La Tuque?
  17. 9 Jan Warmer Today 25F About 4" new snow Shaping up nicely.
  18. I would think by this weekend should be good with clubs out opening up and connecting. I have no first hand report though. I have a friend near Chambord says in the fields around the Lake is very thin (windblown) but in the woods is good snow.
  19. Got about 5cm last night and today. Wicked cold boy. January in Quebec.
