  1. RIP those beautiful trails of last week. Gone but not forgotten. Situation Critical here after this rain without new snow we are out of business. Pray for snow.
  2. lol, yeah a little dated this thread.
  3. Sunday Jan 20 7am 23F 8" new snow as of this AM.
  4. Rode the 33 earlier this month as well not sure whats up now with it.
  5. Lac Bouchette has Auberge Eva 418-348-6832 never stayed but looks nice price is reasonable. Its on the north side of lake after gas just off the lake crossing. If coming south then just before the lake crossing. Parent never stayed there its motel central or there is some private chalet i've seen but got no info for that. Sorry. Seneterre has motel senabi 819-737-2327 Or motel belle villa 819-737-2331 I prefer motel Senabi but both have no restaurant so you need short Cab ride to eat or order in. Chibougamau Motel Nordic 418-748-7686 There are others but Nordic is my choice.
  6. Saturday Jan 19 11am 20F light snow Fresh snow finally. Almost 2" so far a welcome sight.
  7. Yes they are open. Have not stayed there yet this year but did last year and they have gas. Not sure about lunch. Call them 819-440-4545 or 1-877-440-4545.
  8. Yes and Yes for gas from what I have heard.
  9. Sounds like a good plan. Hope Phil gets back on trail asap. Good luck guys.
  10. They are at Relais 22. Monday night.
  11. Temps have fallen and things are firming back up. Was a rough few days but seems like things will bounce back for sure. The meltdown is over for now.
  12. I agree this small warmup will make the base on trail much better. There is alot of snow here. Next week cold is back starting monday we should survive it this time.
  13. Maybe they are having trouble with all the trees near Balbazard. lol.
  14. Windigo not a Fuel Stop. In a Pinch you could probably get some but they do not sell fuel there.
  15. You are correct mcstar. Parent not on the way to La Tuque from Kanawata.
  16. All my years and runs thru never had a problem getting fuel at Wemo. I've heard of only one instance of guys waiting for gas there, the truck was on its way. Anywhere could be out its just luck of the draw. I've found the trail from Wemo to 22 much more unreliable then the Gas for sure.
  17. Day 1 Either way is great to Kanawata Day 2 I would go thru Casey to 83 to Wemo(run to Casey is sweet from Kanawata and 83 is not to be missed it uses the old road and is fast) then to La Tuque on 73, the shortcut If its the one I know will bring you to a Plowed sanded road. Its shorter for sure but not as fun and the shortcut itself will probably be a one sled wide track not groomed. Day 3 All depends on miles you want to ride last day. The 351 is nice for sure, twisty and fun. Not the fastest riding. 360S is great usually(weekends it gets alot of traffic) gives you the full experience on the "pipeline" or Rollercoaster from La Tuque. If you take 351 you turn before and miss most of this. 360W would be the most direct way back. All good trails. Just shorter. Hope it helps. Have fun.
  18. 73 to Relais 22 i have not been on yet. Its open and seems to be fine. Says excellent on site. The first year with the new trail was rough sure its better now. The Orange trail could be another story. They say is still alot of branches and they are working on it. Not sure on that. Just run all the way to Relais 22 get the gas then burn out to Windigo. Are you staying at Windigo? If you are go thru 22 on the way up then at Windigo see about the shortcut back to 73 (orange trail)
  19. From what I have read not Ridden. Seems good to go Casino to Baie Comeau. Should be fine.
  20. Great Story on Barrage Gouin. Very friendly folks and a great place to stay. First time there they gave us a GPS to use with the tracks on the reservoir to follow. Quite an Adventure. Lots of Off Trail action to be had there if you are into that. Well worth the trip.
  21. Going to Kanawata I took the Express (the road) the "new" kanawata Trail mirrors the road quite a bit then veers off from what i saw of it. Sorry did not use it. Road was snowy and much faster. Took 33 south to St Michel. Crossed 2 lakes there not staked or sticked. South of Repos saw lots of sled tracks going to St. Michel (left turns before Repo's as I headed north) Really sweet for first week of January.
  22. Loop from home today. Sorry got no national Geographic picture layout for you. Things have improved greatly near home. Went to St. joseph via the 360 then Pipeline to La Tuque then 73 to Riviere Pierre. All top shape 10/10 Note 353 is closed between 73 and 23 for Logging. Took it anyway being it was saturday and no workers today. GPS guided us thru. But its closed. Hooked up on the 302 then to 3 to 23 back to 3 to the house. Outstanding conditions. Was at Kanawata and then thru St Michel and St. Zenon also earlier in the week. Then back south to St Alexis. All great. 997 miles in 4 days.
