  1. Cool....that is what I am paying. Thanks !
  2. Thanks Jackstraw !! Do you remember about how much you pay for a room? I am about to book online....it is $120 per night for 3 people (includes breakfast), not sure if I should call and check rates directly?
  3. Normally stay at the Governuer....does anyone have info on Escapade? Do they have a restuarant with bar? Any secure parking? Thanks in advance.... VTrider
  4. Sweet !! We will be in the area on Feb 6 - 11.
  5. Great report ! We rode those same trails this last weekend out of Shawinigan.
  6. Great news....was bummed last year to find it closed. We did venture upon the Relais Station....that is a nice happening place as well.
  7. Went by many of the same places this last weekend....good times !!!
  8. Where on your GPS map are the gray jays located? Would love to stop and see that at some point in our travels...
  9. Very nice....will be in this area in 2 - 3 weeks. Can't wait.
  10. Does anyone know if the Hotel Governeur in Shawningan still has secure sled and trailer parking? Been a few years since last being there. Also, do they still have trail access over the bridge from downtown onto the river? Thanks in advance...

  12. Yep...took your advice and hit both forums
  13. Bill, Phil..et al....thanks for the info. Does any one know if the extra insurance you pay to the rental co. covers damage and theft? If not...then what is the insurance charge for? Phil....I have been running the numbers in my head also...comparing renting vs. owning and the headaches, hassles that come with it (but in reality that is some of the enjoyment with sledding...only some though, lol.) After purchasing, prep, registration, insurance, depreciation, maintenance etc, etc, etc....I think the cost per mile may actually be less if you only plan to ride in blocks of a week or so...a couple of times a year. Most of us can knock out 300 miles a day in QC...so $200 vs. 200-300 miles per day does not sound all that unreasonable??? The majority of my miles come from the 1 or 2 times that i ride in QC..typically 1000 to 1300 miles each time...depending on the length of time. Thoughts?
  14. I am sledless for the first time in many years, . I was wondering if any one has info on sled rentals in QC. I am looking to ride for about a week. What does it generally cost to rent for a week of riding, approx 150-200 miles per day? I usually ride in Mt. Valins and the Shawiningan areas. Any one have experience with this? And what outfit did you rent from? thanks...
  15. I remember that area being referred to the "dark triangle". I could not believe the sight of the crumpled Power lines. Every time we have an ice storm I think of that storm. We were without power for some time in Vermont also....much of our power is supplied by Hydro-Quebec.
  16. Unfortunately this year I have not been able to go to Quebec for a number of reasons...mainly due to cost. It is killing me not to ride up there. There is still hope though...but finances, injuries, family sports committments have prevented it to this point. My wife just mentioned to me last night that she was surprised I have not planned a trip Nord yet when we were looking at some great pics posted here of Mt. Valins....she could sense my anquish. I have not posted in awhile but do really enjoy the pics and stories of others riding
  17. Awesome pics Switchback!!! Chaudeirre Applaches region has some great snowmobiling for sure. I love stopping at that clubhouse....nice place and great people! Cheers VTrider
  18. Here we go again ...didn't you guys get your moneys worth with all the BS on HCS. This site is dedicated to riding in Quebec.
  19. They say....most accidents happen within 1-2 miles of home. In your case that would be coming up on the Holiday Inn Saquenay. Did you have one of these on your mind after a long day of riding??
  20. Early Rider....That looks like a real nice place. I have seen the signs for it on the trails. What does it typically cost to stay there? How many people can they accommadate? Thanks....
  21. That looks like the road crossing in La Tuque. I have that same picture. Thought it was pretty cool.
  22. I believe that is a Relais in Chaudiere Applaches Region (can't remember name though). It has a nice mural painting on the interior walls of wildlife. We have stopped there on our way to Thetford mines before. Both the snowmobile and ATV trails meet there. It is a nice place.
  23. Is it the Ice Falls in the Chaudiere Applaches region?
