  1. Don't have a map in front of me so not sure of the trails we took but you'll get the general idea.... Maniwaki to Canadaventure. 253 miles Canadaventure to Club Scott. 318 miles. Went through Parent and had some single track trails where the groomer had not gone though. From Parent south it looked as if the groomer had only through once with the blade. Club Scott to Repos. 205 miles. Getting cold at this point! We decided to stay South and East as trails were better. Repos to Rabaska. 130 miles. Got going from Repos at 11:30 due to 4-strokes not starting in -40*. Rode up to the staff quarters on fire at Rabaska. Feel bad for the people that lost all their things...but no one was hurt. Rabaska to Maniwaki. 130 miles. Left for home from there that day. As always I'm amazed at how hospitable everyone is there. I know it the lodge owners job but they really seem to go out of the way for everyone. Its much appreciated and the reason we keep coming back!
  2. Luckily, I put my high windshield on before the trip and I'm glad I did!!!! Even if it is stupid looking! I also used my gauntlets for the first time and they worked great! Never ride without them in cold weather! It took at least 20 miles of easy riding for the sleds "loosen" up but after that it was fine. We knew it was supposed to be cold and dressed accordingly. Here in Upstate NY its 3* F and it honestly feels like a heat wave!!! Midrange - thanks for your help last week. We rode over 1000 miles based on your recommendations.
  3. 2 Attaks and 1 Rage. Funny thing is while we were dicking around with them, the tour group that also stayed at the lodge came out to start their sleds. Ski Doo's 500ss and 550f I believe. Couple of pulls on the pull cord and then hit the starter and they were running! Oh well! Would not have been a good commercial for Yamaha! Gotta give credit where its due though!
  4. We were at Repos on Wednesday and their thermometer said -40!!! Very cold. Our 4-strokes would not start. Turn over...slowly but would not fire. With the help of a battery charger were were up and running though! Over 1000 miles in 4 1/2 days...Not to shabby for the temps we experienced! All part of the joy of riding in Quebec!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I don't know how well they work. I know some people that have them for Yamaha's and they tend to blow the fuse. I think they shake around and moisture can get in there. My 2 cents...
  6. Thanks for the info!!! We may be heading up 1/12-1/18. Do you know if its possible to do the loop? We usually start at Riviere-du-loup and run 1000-1200 miles.... Thanks for any info!!!
  7. Thanks for info! We are planning for your area this year after 2 years of the Gaspe. We have the week of 1/12 planned...hope it stays cold and snows!
  8. RIP Bernard. Only read good things about him. It really tells you what a good person he must have been for people to respond on a internet forum.
  9. My contributions... Heading up this week, can't wait!!
  10. Hey Captain!! It is great!!!! I'm heading to the Gaspe next week! Although I must say, Tug Hill has been pretty good too!!
