  1. It would be great if these cards helped attract a few new advertisers to replace the ones that we have lost over the past year or two. One of the advertisers that didn't renew last year because his analytics didn't show enough inbound links from QR. Unfortunately forums like this are having a hard time surviving against social media sites like Facebook. Would we be better off trying to grow the forum by targeting riders instead off businesses first? The more active the forum is, the more attractive it is to advertisers. Just rambling on, LOL
  2. @scorpionbowl @smclelan and I also worked out the new advertising rules. We have updated the advertisers page with all of the information. http://www.quebecrider.com/advertisers.htm
  3. Most of the text was there, but Rob had it hidden in the code because he didn't want to deal with the advertisers at the time. @scorpionbowl messaged me that he has already rejected two spammers since I removed the security question. I'll try to get the software updated this week. Hopefully that takes care of the bugs so we can put the security question back.
  4. I watched the JP & Louis videos, too. Come to think of it that's where I stumbled. across Matt, too .
  5. That sounds like a lot of fun Ray. Do you follow Matt Guthmilleron on YouTube? He is the kid that flew around the world. He did a video of flying in to the small airport in NH that was in my neighborhood growing up. As a kid I used to go to the ice races on the pond next to the airport.
  6. We will be updating the software in the coming weeks. I think most of it is bug fixes, but there may be a few new, or different features. We will let you know a day or two before we do it. That way you will know what's going on if the site is down longer than expected.
  7. I sent out renewals a few weeks ago for everyone due in September and October. Let me know if you think you were due for renewal but didn't get the email.
  8. You nailed it Steven. Nothing has changed since we helped rob start this site years ago. There is nothing wrong with members talking up their favorite business establishments. No one should feel that it is their job to promote advertising on QR either. There are several members here that do, and it is appreciated. That should be left up to the individual to decide
  9. @mikerider I've never had an issue with you, or anyone else talking up the places they like to stay and or eat at. In fact, like others have said, it's what QR is all about. The only time I have an issue is if a business joins to promote itself without signing up to be an advertiser. It just isn't fair to the paid advertisers of the site.
  10. I thought it would be nice to raise some funds to be donated to Cancer Research in Rob and Jane's name. You can donate to the fund by clicking on the link on the right hand side of the home page (scroll down if on a phone or tablet)
  11. It saddens me to announce the untimely death of our founder and friend, Rob, has passed away. I don't know all of the details, but they think he may have had a heart attack sometime on either Monday or Tuesday. After not hearing from him via email since Monday afternoon I sent a FB message to one of his neighbors this morning asking if they could stop by to check on him. When I got a reply asking what my phone number was I knew it wasn't going to be good. RIP my friend
  12. Thanks for the kind words. I had a lot of fun flying this fall. I use a DJI Phantom 4 Advanced. The editing is the hardest part. I recently switched to Adobe Premiere Pro after using Adobe Premiere Elements for the past few years. The learning curve is steep, but there are a lot more tools in the pro version. Thank you
  13. You can now order your trail passes from Bill through PayPal by clicking on this link, or the Quebec Trail Passes tab at the top of the page. http://www.quebecrider.com/trailpass.php
  14. I spent a lot of time flying drones with @rob this fall. He showed me lots of nice places to capture video and photos. Here's my compilation video of Fall In Vermont.
  15. You are welcome. @scorpionbowl has been doing a lot behind the scenes lately too. To Gary
  16. I got it. There seems to be a lot of people not getting the invoice. I just went in and marked the one I sent you paid. Thank you for supporting QuebecRider.com
  17. The software update is done. We ran in to a few problems that took a while to work through, but I think everything is OK now. Let us know if you have any problems.
  18. Shouldn't have a problem since the database isn't all that big here. You never know though, that's why I'll back everything up before I do it.
  19. Thank you PM me your email address and I'll delete the invoice.
  20. We will be upgrading the software sometime over the coming weekend. There shouldn't be much downtime as long as everything goes well.
  21. OK, I just did some digging. The software does automatically resize all images that are uploaded to QuebecRider. However, members are only allowed 5 MB per image. Contributing Members do not have any limits on what size image they post. The reason for the 5 MB limit is to cut down on disk space needed for the site. So, yes being a contributing member does has it's advantages.
