  1. Day 2- We leave Carleton not until 10am as we have a short day planned. We stay on 5 until the 595 breaks north. Everything to this point has been groomed nicely. Get to the orange trail a few clicks up the 595 and it was groomed during the evening with maybe 4 sets of sled tracks, we follow. Beautiful flat run all the way up and reconnect back on 595. The run all the way to la Cache was as good as it gets. Took fuel, quick granola snack and back up and grab orange trail to murdochville. This also was a treat to ride. A few drifts here and there, but a lot of fun. Pull into the copper at 3:30 with 155 real easy miles. And thanks for the Jack shots Johnny B!
  2. She is that Tom! Great riding partner, and never have to wait for her!
  3. Mcstar, 10-4 on that! Actually did see it but was sifting along at a good clip and didn't see any signs and figured it was to late to turn back once I realized that. The 5 trail was perfect at that point, but almost immediately went into bump mode that lasted for many miles. Pretty sure today was the best we will see all week, the sun is gonna hide on us and the temps will climb. Easy day tomorrow, headed to the copper in murdochville
  4. Groomer manicures the snow, this guy was sculpting a sawdust pile!
  5. Here is yet another thread on doing the Gaspe loop! Wife Molly and I drove up to the Universal yesterday from Vermont. Met Mikerider, Jack, Sandi and several other Quebec Riders. Had dinner and breakfast with Jack and Sandi, then said our good-byes. Left the universal at 8:10, destination Carleton. Took 5 east all the way to 579 south, to 587 and stopped at Groomers clubhouse for a bowl of soup at 12:30 with 190 miles. Lots of fresh grooming, fair amount of day old stuff, and very little bumpy terrain. Some drifting in the open areas. No sign of groomer, maybe Linda sled girl over served the rouge last night! From. The clubhouse we took 587 briefly, then took an orange shortcut trail through Sainte Florence back over to 5 east. This was a good move, great fast trail with no traffic. Our next move, or actually lack of, cost us so.e extra miles with many bumps added in. Planned on taking the short cut orange trail off from 5 that dumps you into L'Alverne back on the 5, but we missed it! Ended up staying on the 5 down through Pointe a-la Croix, and that plain sucked! Once we got within 30 miles of Carleton, we had a super flat and fast finish all the way to Hostellerie Baie Bleue. Good way to finish the day, pulled in at 5:45 with 303.1 miles for the day. Getting cleaned up and headed to the bar for some well deserved bourbon! Will try to post some pics....
  6. Yup, got ressies tonight and on our return Fri.
  7. Rut Ro, JG, did you get your sticker replaced? It sure seems that lately if there are PO PO involved, so are you! Have a good ride back today guys. Headed for RDL today and Gaspe for the week. Terry
  8. Love the pics JG! We'll see you in a few days. Terry

  10. One question that needs to be answered please.....someone ran diesel???
  11. Hey Jack- Molly and I are headed to the Universal either Sun or Mon night. That will be our starting point for a Gaspe loop. Hoping the conditions straighten out before then! We'll be looking for you! Terry
  12. Hi Jack- Sounds like you guys are having a great time up there! Back in VT for a few weeks then Molly and I are headed to run the Gaspe in March. Hope your trip ends well! Terry
  13. Remember JG's eluding of the PO PO last week? Well....they got him!
  14. JG taking the essence. Take notice of the sign in the background!
  15. Hey Mike, yes we did, and you were spot on! We arrived at bernieres just a little after noon, needless to say, we were flying! Trails were nothing short of amazing the entire way. I'm sure JG will be posting the details of the trip soon. That railbed may be boring to some, but when you want to be somewhere quickly, that's the only way to fly! Speedo fluttered between 80 and 102 for 75 straight miles!
  16. Morning Jack. We're gonna burn to the trucks at bernieres as quick as we can. Would like to be on the black trail as soon as possible with the storm coming. That being said, railbed it is!
  17. Zeusand, she wants the 850! Not sure I like the idea of her leaving me in the dust on straight aways, but she'll probably be sitting on one soon!
  18. JG- Great to meet you today! JG and I had an incredible ride today. After our run to New Brunswick today we ran to RDL and ended with 329.4 miles on the odometer. Having dinner with Mikerider right now. Maybe will see you again in March when my wife and I circle the Gaspe!
  19. Good morning Jack and Sandi! JG and I are having a blast, trails have been spectacular. Headed towards Groomer country today and end up in RDL tonight. Hope the riding is just as great in LSJ!
  20. Looks like you guys hit it perfect Jack! Nice reports and pics. Planning on heading up to Bernierres Wed night for a 4 day run with Trailblazer, hoping the trails through farmland are still open! Terry
  21. Thanks Viper2, I will check these out!
  22. Hey JG! She never complains about the mileage, but the cold fingers get to her. Gonna have to find her better mitts! No time for shopping in the Sag, ran back to the Roquemont in the morning with Jack and Sandi. Hit the black trail this morning and back home now. Need to start planning our next trip back up. We're definitely doing Gaspe in March, just not sure about trips in between. Terry
