  1. so that cuts the exchange rate in half...nice feeling
  2. See those smiles..they won't admit it ...but that's that ski-doo feeling..even when it's parked riding double!!
  3. 12 k miles… using a lot of oil… overheated a few times… poor ring seal… worn bearings from being run low on oil…. And the operator only knows 2 throttle settings… on and off…. Sled otherwise looks brand new… 2 choices… throw it away and move on…. Put a new engine in…I’m going with the later… my guess…4900 Dollars… sorry Chris.
  4. Thats some funny shit....and a week has gone by...and all the parts are still there....good thing it's not in Manawan....it pays to be the Ambassador of Indigenous Affairs!!
  5. They want to go back to work, provide for their families...we go nowhere without their hard work getting us all the things we need to do our jobs....most important part of the economy...they never get the respect they deserve...it's a lot of responsibility on top of it all.....hope they are successful...but don't block me...I been waiting 2 years just like them...happy to give them a donation.
  6. I always like to have a few extra days in addition to the plan...the more I ride...the more I realize...when I'm on the trail...I don't have to be anywhere until I get there....this attitude gives you the freedom to really enjoy every minute of the trip....especially after being locked out for nearly 2 seasons!!
  7. Really great news for sure....lets get back to normal!!
  8. 4 out of 6...doesn't sound very random to me...sounds like 70% !!
  9. Hope you have a great time in Play Land!!
  10. In august when it's 95 and humid we will all be dreaming about how nice winter is..we are putting AC in the shop this spring...done with working in that weather.
  11. Mike , time for ski doo absolute zero jacket...-25 will never stop you again...
  12. You really had a tough trip between all the new snow and the coldest week in years… and being locked out for even a coffee… would have really been hell if not for Andre’s camp and Jean Guy’s camp… precisely why no traffic and grooming daily in the north…. just the same, it was still much better than work… when we go in March it should be much better… and maybe the no eat deal will be over… here’s to hoping!!
  13. Mrs Ice… we are all looking forward to the pictures of Don operating the vacuum cleaner and wearing an apron in the kitchen
  14. Best wishes for a quick recovery, only good part of this is Don doing all the cooking and housework… enjoy your break… Don you have some big shoes to fill!!
  15. I'm trying to talk Jeff into a lack of judgement and let me try his new sidewinder out????
  16. at this point there are a lot of mixed messages about how effective the vaccine is against the latest variant....it has worked good for a lot of people and not so well for some people....I certainly understand the reluctance of those who believe the government should not be mandating or fining people...sets a bad precedent in a free country...at this time everyone realizes what is going on and that it is totally up to each person to decide how responsible they are or are not going to be...curfews and lock downs are kicking the can down the road, definitely not a solution ...time to move back to normal and everyone be responsible for their own actions...this cannot go on for ever.
  17. Tough situation for sure at Wemo...may the wind always be on his back...RIP
  18. should have mentioned that the tie rods ends just inside those rubber boots where they are on the inside also freeze up and need to be lubed with a non drying non freezing lubricant like a chain lube that spays on but tacks up....its hard to have a spray can in these temps because the tend to loose their pressure...probably going to be an issue this trip...real pain
  19. just put Simmons skis on adjusted the alignment and shocks and got rid of all the darting, really rails now, just hate adding 2 stroke oil, no big deal really unless you are out in the bush for a week and need to carry oil, but it absolutely shines in these big storms. The frozen steering...I took mine apart and used water poof grease on all the bushing and bell crank an drilled a couple holes to drain water, in heavy snow it's so hard to keep it out of the engine compartment and it's tight and warm in there perfect conditions to freeze things...first time it happened to me I thought something came apart and was going to jam the steering while I was riding...spent a day in a garage with a little heat finding out things were frozen
  20. I'm not sure what company built that Ferry...but this has gotten beyond embarrassing...they should be forced to shut down and give the money back...this is one of the worst products I have ever heard of...they would be lucky if it sank at dock and they just start over...very unfortunate how vitally import this boat is to the well being of so many people...beyond an inconvenience.
  21. this trip has expedition written all over it
  22. I had a Yamaha that would melt snow and then freeze the steering bell crank and in the morning or even after stopping for lunch the steering would be frozen...not nice to deal with these days with very little access to anything...I bet JG has seen all sorts of emergency situations out there you get a hunk of ice down there under the engine in all this snow and it's a real pain in the ass.
  23. Another day of adventure adds up to a great time when you really don’t need to be anywhere until you get there… ride on
