  1. bet with these temps it is very nice..low traffic too...just gotta get there
  2. go to whalehouse .ca..polar bear forums for great info and pics
  3. New Newfoundland has had some issues in the last 5 years where towns had them roaming around for a few weeks, very dangerous situation, you are on the food chain and not near the top.
  4. It's called adventure, we made it...and I'm not trading the memories for anything...maybe next year everything will be open like the old days..we definitely screwed up not carrying any food though...I was eating snow for hydration at on point.
  5. I tried to tell you guys that Iceman would loose that lean look hanging around with playhard for 2 weeks, now you know why!!
  6. Most people would run...very lucky...minimum wage employee saved the day...would have been no gas there for quite some time
  7. 2019 ski doo back country 850, black, 2000 miles in Quebec, 1.6 track, XRS front shocks...mint condition....first 11000. US funds...will help with delivery...text 413-441-2224, Bob.
  8. I don't know about that but it kind of works like rain x and it's easy to do, works on helmets too, a neat trick that helps with all that glove action when on your face shield
  9. I have found that pledge spray on furniture wax on my hood and windshield prevents icing from sleet and freezing rain
  10. That is some really great news for sure
  11. Truly amazing how many have given up on a fantastic season
  12. You guys made a great choice going north and catching some cold weather, only thing I found lacking or negative to say was the lack of restaurant accommodations when we were riding, hopefully we will be completely over that next season, a few days there was so little available I thought we were on a weight watchers tour.
  13. Stator, shocks, batteries, tracks, trailer tires....and still going....you guys are amazing...good job keeping things in perspective.....
  14. John, water has contaminated your wheel bearing grease… marine grease is a different animal and repels water… you will have to replace the seals and repack the bearings for next season…I carry a spare hub incase that happens on the road
  15. Tough day hey??
  16. Yup they are slumming in St Felician
  17. St Hubert express… Matane??
  18. On the black trail going to a new location… hopefully another week of adventure is in front of you… I should have stayed another week… taking a month next season.., things will be back to normal… too much snow to quit now… going to be a long summer
  19. I always keep a good back up.. season is too short to miss when something breaks… that’s why I try to trade one sled up every 3rd season and stay in warranty
  20. Somebody’s being towed…;$/@&!!…… sorry to see that happening to you guys…. No way to end the season…. Hope you guys had a great trip just the same
  21. I had both of those vintage Yamahas… and Pierre in Mt St Pierre is a gentleman and can and will fix anything… I even saw a washing machine in there once… I not kidding… one of the most important people in that town… for a long time
  22. You are certainly having better luck with food than we did… it was the only part of our trip that was hit or miss
  23. Should be good by now…. Wish. I was still there…. Have a blast
  24. our last day had us eating room service delivered breakfast at Hotel-N-Cie...delivered at 7:30 am.....coffee and juice and....some kind of a breakfast rap.....kind of like sea rations....barely edible...did not go over so well after not getting dinner....people have to go back to work....this has to be embarrassing for these places....we are on the trail by 8:30 and they are groomed...starting to feel like the Quebec we know and love....but there is nothing you can do about the weather. We take turns leading and carving corners like Emerson Fitipaldi 's formula 1 car, putting the miles down this morning.....kind of mundane though as all the unforeseen excitement is now behind us in the mountains. We arrive in Matane early afternoon and go to the Polaris dealer to get Terry some oil, then things really look up...we go to St Hubert for an indoor sit down meal!! 200 miles left to coast into RDL....of course we ride into the dark and arrive at 7:45 pm. The last 20 miles the snow is soft and brown at street crossings, the parking lot is bare at Universal....and it is down to the last 2 weeks here for sure....but another month in the mountains. We had a great trip and the sport is well in tact after nearly 2 seasons, Terry turned 70 on our trip.....you would never know it, rides like 50, and he brought a lot of common sense and talent to our ride, Stan sports 30 years in Quebec and we definitely relied on all that to get us thru where most everyone else stopped. Terry was on his first ride with a 2023 XCR 650 Indy...I got to ride it for quite some time....Polaris has raised the bar with this Matrix chassis and 650 engine, best handling sled I've ever ridden straight out of the factory...and it is incredibly easy on oil, less than half what my 850 uses and hold 1 more gallon of fuel.Only trouble on the whole trip was the reverse on the 1200 ski doo not wanting to work...big Suprise there....It was great to get back to what we all love and see old friends, lets hope it continues to reopen and we can all look forward to a great season next year, and for all those folks who let all this stuff prevent them from crossing the border....don't let it stop you....get yourself over the border and ride the best trails in the world, happy trails, Bob.
