  1. Did you go over the bridge? Kinda cool.
  2. We stay across the street at the Howard Johnsons, $98 with tax. LINK
  3. 2. The longest snowmobile bridge in North America! It’s impossible to talk about a snowmobile trip in Côte-Nord without mentioning the bridge that crosses the Manicouagan River near Baie-Comeau. Passerelle Baie-Comeau © Marc Loiselle Its reputation extends beyond borders, and even people who have not yet visited the region have heard of it. About 700 feet long and nearly 95 feet above the river, the structure is very impressive—you’ll want to take a picture to show all your friends! http://www.quebecmaritime.ca/blog/en/2160/motoneige-cote-nord-snowmobile/
  4. I have been there 3 times, would like to go again.
  5. Left Friday morning on a 700 mile loop. Woke up to a snow storm, and we rode in snow all day! 30 miles out and one of the 1200's decided to run on 2 cylinders. 6500rpms max and 50 miles per hour. Quick look on the map showed a dealer 30 miles away. We programed it into the GPS and off we went. First tracks on most of it. We arrived at Ty Motors at lunch time. They were very busy, but took us in. In 10 minutes they said the work would take at least 1.5 hours, due to taking the hood, airbox, headlights and stuff off. The head guy took us in his minivan to lunch, and dropped us off and said he would call when it was done. After lunch he picked us up and brought us back, and good news, the sled was done! Pulled pin on the mag side coil connector, he fixed it and replaced the plugs and all was well Cost 0$, and all under warranty. We continued onto RDL, 230 miles. Next day the snow was done, but lots of fresh snow and high winds. Tough going but fun. We stayed in Cabano, we used the GPS to save us a few times. Short day at 180 miles, but fun. Last day was awesome, all the new snow was groomed up nice! Some areas got a foot of new snow! We did a bit on 35, a bit on 55, and a lot on the side trails. Longer day at 280 miles. Total was just under 700 miles. Lots of snow, lots of fun! I will update with link to pictures and video later.
  6. Several years back buddy had to be towed from Clova, 175 miles one way, we still talk about it!
  7. Sorry, on the good side no one got hurt, you didn't spend much on fuel, and now is a perfect time to look at new iron.
  8. You have lot's of options, we went exactly like the track above.
  9. Save the trip to the look-outs for a super clear day, you can then partially justify the 4 foot moguls to get to the top. If its cloudy, pass for another day. La-Hutte was my favorite, all the way to the top, right, over the beaver pond and up the single track to the top, awesome lookout.
  10. PelChat trail. Pipmaucan trail. Water falls. Cave Scooby-Raid.
  11. You cannot go to La-Hutte anymore. Instead they have 5 new summits for snowmobiles: http://www.paradisdelamotoneige.com/11945_an.html You can see them all in one day. Unless they are freshly groomed and it is a perfectly clear day, I would spend my time checking out other stuff.
  12. I want new gloves! Wait, I have 27 pairs already............
  13. Good to know, thinking of leaving out of Hotel Bernieres early Friday morning.
  14. What did the rain do to the trails as you got further south?
  15. They have a FB page: Pourvoirie Barrage Gouin and a website: http://www.barragegouin.com/index-en.php How are they trails with the rain? Current temperature? This is when we were there:
  16. Yes, and 4 local micro brew beers on tap, tough place to go to I know! Try the chicken wings, awesome.
  17. Are you here? Nice place, nice people.
  18. Is there another besides Motel Coronet?
  19. For sure you are taking the road less traveled, and a very fun trail, the way I would go myself!
  20. Sacre Coeur is nowhere near to far north. Lots of paved roads, city's and nice trails WAY further north. Bridge is on the main trail, 787 feet long, 100 feet high, very, very cool. 377 miles north on the trail from Quebec City to the bridge via the trail.
