  1. I'll take the better suspension any day. The fastest always goes to the best tuner with the deepest pockets. Touring Quebec can be done on a lot less than 177hp.
  2. One of the best sites to get trail conditions for sure!
  3. 25,000 or 2500? 25000 miles towing a year is a TON. Are you towing to the north pole to find snow? Dam, hard to put any miles on the sled with so many in the truck.
  4. Most use the Dexter axle and brakes, so most can have the same issue. I see 2 choices work; 1. Replace everything from the backer forward every 2 years. 2. Wash everything really well as often as you can, take the hubs off 1-2 times every year, clean, grease and adjust. I think most of the damage comes form letting them sit over the summer after being blasted with salt water all winter.
  5. Pro line is a budget trailer, but functional. Check out the Sno-Pro at Perfection Motor's, cost a bit more but very nice for the money. http://www.snoprotrailers.com/
  6. Awesome news, (I think), and save me a membership!
  7. Trekking across the country on a sled is a big deal, all the way to Gaspe and back is a REALLY big deal. Quebec is an awesome place to ride, but conditions, weather, sleds and riders dictates how far you can go. I ride 3K-5K per year up there, have done 6500 miles in a year up there, I know others do a lot more. If you want a good experience, don't bite off more than you can chew. Keep it reasonable. Go in Mid February to early March, best snow and weather is getting warmer. Start somewhere that grooms a lot, and your stuff is kind safe. Chibougamau is awesome, but not the place for your first ride. If you don't want to drive to far, Mont Laurier has a nice mix of trails. Quebec City is awesome! Lot's of trails, lot's of nightlife. St Zenon and it's surrounding areas can be nice, but can also be over crowded and over ridden. Mont Valins is nice for sure, but again you have to know where to go, the week-end warriors can wreak havoc on the main trails, but the outer trails offer some of the best scenery in Quebec. Gaspe is awesome too. Gas and services are fairly spread out there, and the weather is very unpredictable there too. To really plan a trip, you have to decide on so many things, how ready are you and your sled, how many days, how big a group, how many miles in a day, back-up plans? We live close to the border, so we go on a moments notice if the conditions are good, but in the past 3 years, you have to be careful, the snow cover has been very spotty. If you are serious, haul your self to Jonquiere, and do a few days rides will Bill, it will be a great first exposure to Quebec. Mark.

  11. You can put a watermark on them, and make sure they are not high resolution.
  12. From relay KM31, it is trail 93, really, most always the worst trail to ride there, so much traffic.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-rl2J-ZvIA Rode last week-end, Quebec city and north, TON's of snow, all groomed, they say they will groom till the end of March, (talked to the club FCMQ rep.), so load them and go! Start at Saint Ann De Beaupre. The island was AWESOME, lot's of snow, Baie St Paul, La Malbaie, all great, head out the 83, all good!
  14. 2 gas stations give you the same number? Both are 28% higher than what you think? I would say you have a 14L can...... Or, my best guess, you misread liters for dollars. If your 11L can were empty, and Fuel was at 1.29 per liter, is would cost you $14.19.
  15. Quebec is buried in snow. We did 750 miles in 3 days. Day 1, Quebec City, up 3, out and around the island, over the ferry, and stayed in Sacre Coeur, 275 miles. Day 2, Up 93, Mont Valins, to Alma, over to Roberval, 225 miles. 3rd day, 83, to 23, to Le Tape, down 369, to 304, back to Quebec City, 250 miles. Lot's of snow everywhere, and all very good.

  17. Bill gone home, we rode there last week-end STUPID amounts of snow in the whole region.
  18. Rode March 4th-6th, paid as little as low as $1.18 and as much as $1.39 for regular.
  19. OK, I talked to Greg to get the scoop. Went like this: Mark: How is is going? Greg: Awesome, lot's of snow, great conditions. Mark: Can you test in Quebec like conditions? Greg: Yes, some of the trails are very Quebec like, both fresh groomed, and whooped out mogul field. Mark: Have you tested all of the sleds yet? Greg: Yes, and WOW have I learned a lot! Mark: Can you pick a winner, for the way we ride? Greg: It was not even close, one sled is hands down best. Mark: In what regard? Greg: Suspension, weight, power, all perfectly matched, a joy to ride in any conditions. Mark: Tell me about the suspension. Greg: Wait, my phone is beeping, battery going dead I think. Mark: Cool, tell me about the suspension. Greg: You can feel it working in all conditions, not harshness, nice, using full travel. Mark: How is compared to the others. Greg: I hate to say it, but makes all of the others feel like 2000 vintage, not 2012, there is a big difference. Mark: Hum. Greg: Wait, phone beeping again. Mark: OK, before it dies, what is the sled you would want, cost no object, for the way we ride. Greg: Easy choice, very, very easy, there is only one. Mark: And it is? Greg: Mark: You you there? Greg: Mark: Can you hear me now? Greg: Mark: You SOB! Greg:
  20. I was afraid of that. Bummer this is such a key link to get anywhere. Poor guy at relay 22 has to be bumming. We did a trip adjust based on weather and conditions. Tomorrow, leave Quebec city, go north, tour the island, stay at Sacre Cour, maybe 300 miles total. Next night stay at Roberval, maybe 225-250miles, Sunday back to Quebec City, maybe 200 miles or so, should all be OK.
