  1. Ooops, got caught up with the chat on the last page, thanks JG
  2. Thanks Jean-Guy...is there a web site for the motel for the gathering and would you have the link to that one as well. JG
  3. Hi Andyman Can you give me the contact information for that back up Auberge you know of, Grumpysanta wants to come along and needs a 2 bedded room. Claudette has no more. I have my name on standby should someone cancel out. Ciou JG
  4. Hi Bill I met you at the Holiday Inn in Chicoutimi in the winter of 2009,i had advised you of the ice crossing by Relais de Buttes, it was out due to the dam that had been opened up. We were 6 guys in our group from Montreal and had been leap frogging a pair of guys from Pennsylvania from St.Raymond up to the 355/83 fork. They told us on one of our breaks together that they were riding with you the following day. Wish i had more info to help you identify me. I met REVCT on my trip around the Reservoir Gouin last winter. We were having lunch in Clova and talking about GPSs when he asked us if any of us were QR members then he started to share with us his experience crossing the Reservoir Blanc from the Odanak just outside of La Tuque via GPS. No pickets on the lake he said. Whatta trooper.
  5. Is this a week end with the spouses or is it just for the boys?
  6. Hi Andyman Is there any room for newbies to the group, it's been some time since i've been to the great Gaspe and it would be fun to meet and put faces to the names on the forum. I had the pleasure of meeting Saguanay Bill and REVCT once upon at time. Have'nt been able to get out riding too much lately.
  7. Je me Souviens i have atved the Baskatong area and its Pourvouries as well as Parent and Clova area. However, i have never done the Lepine road by atv but judging from previous trips up there i'm asuming Rabaska to Clova would take you no more than 4-5 hrs to ride maybe even less if the road is in good shape. I road many times from L'Annociation to Parent and this ride usually took us 4 hrs. The road half way up is quite twisty and narrow but the top half we were averaging speeds between 40-50 mpg. I know the Lepine road is not far from Rabaska say 30k at most and if the Lepine road is in good shape i'm sure it will take no time at all to get up there. Good luck and post some pics when you get up there.
  8. Ha ha ha nearly pissed my pants...good one.
  9. hi trailblazer!! i'm talking about the logging camp about 5/6 miles from la cache.just next to the bridge over the cascapedia river . faribault is roughly 30/32 miles from la cache ......tlr...truck logging road groomer !!! Thanks for clearing that up JG.

  12. Camera date wrong, my first ride with the my 08 Apex in Parc de La Verendrye Earlier on with the 04 RX1, same parc Trail between Amos and Sennetere The Abitabi region is one of my favorite areas to ride next to the Gaspe. Wide open trails, flat and fast.
  13. http://www.wimp.com/babymoose This video WILL make your day... Enjoy! If you listen really close in the audio you can hear the woman who is recording this trying to keep her kids quiet in the background so as not to frighten the moose and chase them away.
  14. pic:causapscal river at the cable bridge in town. jean-guy Speaking of rivers, here's a clip that one of our riding parteners put together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYJu7VcuRMQ
  15. Have a big one on me JG, happy B-Day and hope to meet you one day, been too long since my last visit to the Gaspe.
  16. Earl was one of the Sleds in our group and yes he has a fabricated spare tank on his Apex. It holds 11 Liters , I've seen it numerous times full @ 11 maybe 11.2 liters max . I have an Apex too and have been having a range problem since the start, a spare tank on board emptying into the fuel line would be ideal, is this what your spare tank is like?Unfortunately i haven't found one like that and have been carring a 5 litre jerry can, can you tell me where you bought it and a little more details like where it is mounted and does it actually flow into the fuel line somehow. Thanks JG
  17. Thanks Markusvt, i didn't expect Saguenay Bill to be gone yet, nice to hear they still have lots of snow.
  18. I am expecting some friends coming up from CT on the 24th and they are expecting to ride, am looking to ride in the Lac St.Jean area and hoping that there will be some substantal snow left and still being groomed, i might be asking for a lot this late in the season but have to give it one last shot. Saguenay Bill...can you give me an update of the trails in the region. Thanks JG
  19. Nice trip Andyman, amazing how many miles you did without incident, hats off to you. I wish i had of seen and replied a little earlier to your post on the Monteregie board, i could have saved you a shuttle and help put more miles on your trip. Once again great trip, wish i had the privilidge to ride that much time on a sled at once. JG
  20. Trails were super that day, i remember i met my friend on Lac de Deux Montagnes at 7 am and left from there, the trick to long distance days Je Me Souviens is knowing excactly where to turn at every intersection and not having to open the map every time, aswell, try to stretch the range from your fuel tank so you don't have to stop too often and third of all not too many breaks and the ones that are taken don't take them too long. It's not the first time i've been to Lac Fallion in one day, we used to stop at Forsythe in the past 'cause they were alot cheaper to stay at and we liked the company too. On big days like those we're usually in before 7pm. Here's a couple pics of the old Forsythe and the trail leading to it.
  21. Nice trip, too bad about the rain. I was up there in 08 and we road up to Matagami from Quillevion a little twisty 'till you get to the warming hut, heading south from Matagami to St.Dominique through the power lines, funny thing my buddy ran out of gas too as but he did it in the perfect spot 20ft before the pump at St.Dominique. We had a giggle.
  22. Pourvoirie Barrage Gouin Our room there Pourvoirie Martin Water inlet to the Gouin, can be seen at Pourvoirie Martin Not of this season but wanted to share [2008 season]. Camera date no good. On this day we left Montreal and camped out at Lac Fallion 780klms. Parc de La Verendryie between Joncas and Rapid de Joachins The old Joncas
  23. I just saw your post Andy, it is definitely possible to loop around MTL on the TQ5 from Sorel, it is a little wiggly and alot of road crossings but would make for a good day of riding to do it. From TQ5 on the south shore coming into the Valleyfield area you will have to take some regional and local trails to hook you up with the 33. If St.Donat is your destination this is your route to get there from the Valleyfield area, if not and you just want to bypass MTL from the south for the ride and go north afterwards i can suggest alternate routes to the north once your through the Valleyfield area, perhaps even provide you with an escort to get through the area. This is my backyard. JG
