  1. Have a good trip Greg......leaving tomorrow (9th) for 9 days.Temps are looking good.
  2. If you were planning to come back via TQ 43, you will have to forget it. Trail 308 is closed towards Fort-Coulonge and I just learned that PSDA are having issues with trail 311. There is no connection for the time being between Upper Gatineau Valley and the Pontiac. http://www.oursblancs.com/conditions-sentiers.html 2017-02-07 We have been informed that PSDA has lost authorization with the municipality of Otter Lake closing the trail 311 from Otter Lake to Lady Smith. Therefore, NO access between MRC VG and MRC Pontiac. http://amp-psda.qc.ca/actions/showClubConditions?lg=fr&page=sen&cid=240
  3. yes it's open. Rode to Le Domaine january 28th......try this Station Service Le Domaine le Domaine, Parc de la Vérendrye, QC J0W 1T0 819-435-2251
  4. Enjoy your stay Fuse6....they do have some really nice cottages. https://www.lewindigo.com/
  5. They changed the route on the Baskatong réservoir, now trail 322 goes thru village windigo on the eastern side of Baskatong. The big pond was in good shape on saturday and no slush. Trails were in very good conditions on saturday. Maniwaki area, Devil's mountain area(322) and Ste-Anne du lac.
  6. I do read French and it means no trail closure. Government is backing off on taxation reforms with the farmers. On top of that Laurent Lessard (Minister of Agriculture) is sending us a snowstorm for next week. Perfect timing for my 9 day saddlebag trip.
  7. Status Quo......no update yet. Clock is ticking.
  8. there is no mid season rates 315 $ for an annual trail permit purchased on or before December 9, 2016 385 $ for an annual trail permit purchased after December 9, 2016 560 $ for an annual trail permit sold on trail* 230 $ for an annual trail permit for antique snowmobiles (1997 and older) 215 $ for a 7-day trail permit 130 $ for a 3-day trail permit 60 $ for a 1-day trail permit 570 $ for an annual trail permit for a rental snowmobile
  9. we will find out this weekend.3-4 inches of fresh snow this week and temps looks colder for the weekend. In the meantime you can follow the snowmobile club on facebook. They are posting on a regular basis https://www.facebook.com/webmestre.blancs?fref=hovercard
  10. Thanks Iceman, I think you rode that leg on one of the loop you posted under the topic "exploring new ground".Wonder why it is stated as closed.
  11. That leg in red southeast of Le Cabanon. Looks like TQ 23 is cut-off.
  12. Facebook can be a useful tool.......Rapide 7 back in business.
  13. it has been mild all week with temps overing just above freezing mark during the day and just below at night. Good chance it has been rather cloudy and no rain. Minimal melt. So trails won't be affected but soft. Fore sure not the major thaw they were forcasting. Next week looks rather mild(around freezing mark) but cloudy.Trending cooler by the end of the week. What I am worry about is the possibility of trail closure(as of february 1st) if the farmers and the government don't settle with an agreement.
  14. speedy recovery Bill.....glad to see you are ok.
  15. We rode 255 miles this weekend and the trails were in top shape.....Maniwaki, Grand Remous, Devil's moutain area, Club fontbrune, Ferme-Neuve, Mont-Laurier and down to Maniwaki. Railroad bed Low-Maniwaki was in excellent condition. only bad trail was the local one in lac des iles to 324. Trails are hard.Good snow conditions. Enjoy before the thaw....... no pics forgot my camera.
  16. once you're inside......3 years ago when we stopped by, went to pay for gas inside. I was told to take my boots off. No joke!
  17. Hi Rich no shortage of snow around Maniwaki for the time being but the long range looks ugly.......let me know if you leave from Maniwaki......we will sip on a cold one.
  18. Hi Steve, I don`t know what are the conditions like around Shawville. I don't ride that area but I assume they have good snow as well. PSDA is maintaining R311 up to TQ 13. I would carefully check their trail conditions because according to their website some portion of R311 is closed http://amp-psda.qc.ca/actions/showClubConditions?lg=en&page=sen&cid=240 Railroad bed(TQ 13) runs from Low to Maniwaki. As for the free weekend, I've been on saddlebag trips during that weekend so I couldn't tell you but we are not overcrowded like st-zenon area. Since we are near the Ontario border, yes traffic might be heavier during that weekend. As for lodging.....two places in Maniwaki http://www.aubergedraveur.qc.ca/home/index_e.php http://www.chateaulogue.com/home.html another place out of town on the shores of the Baskatong reservoir on trail 322 is http://pointedavid.ca/pointeadavid_home.html. Do yourself a favor.....keep an eye on the weather........a prolonged mild spell on the way. Seems we can't avoid that shit every winter. Hope that helps and best regards Jack
  19. FYI doo4adoo......opening January 13th
  20. Jay, I have the same problem as you with my computer at work(explorer11)...no problems with google chrome with my tower at home.
  21. place is le Pensive.......friend of mine unloaded there on new year day......he told me Lépine road is plowed by the loggers all the way up to Wapus lodge this winter which is about at km 100 but there is a shoulder for snowmobilers (half of the road width) he said. Pensive relay is located at km 57.
  22. just got confirmation from Val d'Or SC.........the place is closed. No food-No gas.
  23. first ride on xmas eve.....turn back after 20 kms.....railroad bed was brownish/greyish in many places.Things were much better on new year's eve. Last week we got hammered with 40 45 cms of snow. NOW........we are in business. 2 1/2 to 3 feet of snow in the area. Lakes are not safe yet. Saw the trail warden from the FCMQ. They are sporting yellow jackets and it's zero tolerance with them. Alright the season has started.
