willb
Could be open next year if all goes well apparently. Bridge issue. See below. I haven’t rode cote nord but was researching a trip last year that didn’t work out. In my research there could be a way around without the shuttle but again that is what I saw so up to you determine. iceman
I cannot find anything about a new bridge or construction of one near Sheldrake. They did complete a bridge 15km west of HSP back in March. But I believe its not related to this trail closure.
iceman
Ok digging around some more it seems the bridge needed to reopen this section “officially” (as people were passingon it this year anyway it was just not fully groomed) will be completed this summer. To reopen next season is the plan. poltodoo, mccaffrey, dooright and 1 other 1

Signfan
Wow thats a beautiful structure in an awesome location scenery wise. Hopefully this is it for closures along the north shore.
Signfan
Looking at those pictures they must be putting two bridges in. What a project. Would be worth the trip out there just to see them.
iceman
These bridges were needed as the trail used to pass on the frozen river. Hydro Quebec built a new barrage (dam) and now the river no longer freezes. Ihe local club Le Blizzard lobbied for a long time and Hydro Quebec built the bridges. these new bridges relink sept isles and Havre St Pierre TQ3 The photo shows only the largest. mccaffrey, wng-2, jak and 2 others 4

Have gone from Baie Comeau to Sept-Iles a few times. BC to Godbout is an awesome roller coaster, from there to Sept Iles is beautiful running. Be sure to gas at Baie Trinitè. markusvt
Sept-Iles and back is a great run, it's after that it gets dicey. You can make a nice loop and easily include a ferry crossing in the mix. iceman, wng-2 and smclelan

Signfan
If the clubs are doing their jobs the section from Baie-Johan-Beetz to Kegaska is the resl issue as it's off trail riding. Sounds like from Sept Isles east is / has been touch and go though. Hopefully the new funding formula helps this area bringing them funds they didn't have in the past. I'm sure it's a tough area to sell many permits in being end of the road / trail with low population nearby. Given the infrastructure they're building, you'd think there would be some interest in keeping it groomed up and open reliably.

Yes, we are doing the Gaspe counterclockwise, then the ferry to Baie Comeau, to Sept Iles and back, back on the ferry to Matane. Then to Montmagny where we are launching from. markusvt
Very fun option. Plan your gas, lodging and ferry very carefully. The ferry waits for no one😏 dooright

Pipeman
Left Shawinigan last winter rode to Matane took the ferry to Godbout exited the ferry and turned right, everything went smoothly. You just need to check the schedule and decide if you want to go to Godbout or Baie Comeau and show up early. Call ahead and reserve your spot. Easy to pay for and they spoke perfect English every time I’ve ever called them. http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_11/IMG_0265.thumb.jpeg.3a8e92e06988b97011bf14c49e3312e2.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_11/IMG_0264.thumb.jpeg.a2066c932da28ff96aa764958a31137e.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_11/IMG_0276.thumb.jpeg.cdd00301f07a9cf27e3dced160c7dc95.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_11/IMG_0282.thumb.jpeg.5b06cf21b98d6d227373087254632108.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_11/IMG_0280.thumb.jpeg.384fd9173f5289e401d931da202c7ce4.jpeg Edited November 8 by Pipeman MrGutz
