MJD
We are planning on heading to RDL to start a Gaspe Loop on the 25th of Feb . I was talking to a guy that drove through that area on Feb 13 and he said there was not alot of snow along the HWY. How are the snow and trail conditions from a sledders perspective in that area. I see from Groomers pics that once we get to his area , all is good. Just want to make sure that we can plan on meetting the rest of our group in RDL or should we head a little further east to start out. Thanks in Advance Mark

doo4adoo
just came back this past weekend. Unless they get snow the RDL to Rimuski is thin with bare areas. We left on the thursday from RDL and it was thin and then it warmed up and rained. On our way back we had issues just east of Rmuski in the Mt Joli area so we didnt ride that section sunday but word is its not good. It has gotten colder but on the weekend the rivers & brooks were opening up creating Havoc in this section. East of Matane and the interior was great though. Just need to pick your starting place with care.

Not sure if we should go next week or just trailer into Northern NB and run around there for a couple of days btwn Bathurst and Moose Valley areas. scorpionbowl
Just did Mont Joli to Montmagny today. 4" new snow in mj, up to 8" new along the way. Less new snow south of RDL to 1" new at Montmagny. Everything was frozen. We stayed on 5 till south of RDL then dropped down to 35. Everything should be fine Montmagny north till things warm up. Staying off 5 going inland is only a good thing...

MJD
Went to Mont Joli area from Matane and then TQ5 to Local trail to Andgel de Merci then to La Redemption on 587 took green trails to Cabano them up to RDL on thursday and returned to Matane via Sayabec on Friday , They were all good , as said prior I would stay off of TQ5 between RDL and Mont Joli (it's passable but very thin) Edited March 17, 2012 by MJD
