  1. Here's a recent article from Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the_americas/us-canada-border-coronavirus/2020/06/30/2cbfd3b0-b55c-11ea-a510-55bf26485c93_story.html
  2. I used Trex years back. I like the appeal of not having to refinish. That being said i found its lost its luster-finish over time. That being said they say the newer product is apparently better. Not sure of the pricing today but what i found to be crazy is the price of those little plastic install clips you need to use. I ended up finding them in NY for considerably cheaper. I would use it again for sure. Might have to sell a sled to pay for a deck the size my wife would want. Stay well.
  3. Just listening and the Premier of New Brunswick is basically saying for now-summer unless the area you are coming from is good you won't be allowed in . Obviously winter is a ways off and this is not Quebec but a sign of possible times a head. I heard and not sure if it always works but that someone took off their front licence plate and passed through the Quebec check point. They have no front plates while most other provinces do and just assume you're one of their own.
  4. I was thinking of similar, but more of whats your favorite day loops. Next winter the good lord permitting I am looking at changing some from saddlebag runs to having a base and doing loops. I know Miker is the expert on the RDL sector but wondering if others have more areas and good options. One of my favorite trails if Le Domaine to Val D'or The original Lepine Road trail was a favorite and frankly any part of the 83
  5. Well on a positive note the Province of Quebec today announced some openings and other provinces are starting as well. Trails still closed in case you were hoping for a late run.
  6. Maybe your dream retirement job-business awaits you Mike, MaineRider.com 🙂 Lets hope its not so
  7. On a more positive note; The first link now wants you to open an account, Considering they are making an immediate production run of this while still testing makes me think they are on to something. We can only hope & pray. But then I get a bit worried for quick tests. For those of you who have not seen "I am Legend;" the movie here is the outline; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Legend_(film) Clinical trials to begin this week as Oxford researchers race to develop COVID-19 vaccine The testing is expected to take several months, but the researchers have already teamed up with seven manufacturers in Britain, Europe, India and China to produce one million doses by September and millions more by the end of the year Here's another story on it https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/oxford-university-coronavirus-vaccine-covid/
  8. In Canada the banks at least are letting you defer like Vic wants and extending your mortgage for up to 6 months. That being said I here its only for home owners and not rental properties so there's likely a few small landlords who will be in trouble. Business wise the government has some money plans being rolled out but really aren't well geared for all the small business man/woman in my opinion. In the end I would say the hospitality industry is going to be hurt the most. Even if things start opening up soon there's likely still a lot of fear from people to go back to a sit down restaurant and even then they will likely have to social distance so it won't be full. We need a vaccine period to get things back to normal. That being said I will still be willing and happy to go and give as much business as i can in the Abitibi, LSJ and Gaspe regions if they let me 🙂

  10. Ok but what will those numbers look like if nothing was done?
  11. For the most part its the people who want to put money above human lives who are bitching the most. Yes there's a lot of average people being hurt and would like to get back to work. I think most understand the situation. Lamb forgets that we are doing this so the rate is not spiking and significantly more numbers dying. Yes I don;t like this as much as anyone else but like a lot of things in life put your time in and you will get rewarded. Hold the line folks. Trump lost about a billion i understand.
  12. Ya I couldn't care less about the magic but those chicks, I mean ladies soldiers are quite something! I certainly couldn't shoot them, Interrogate absolutely.
  13. I'n not sure I would call it compensation yet. It appears to be more of tax deferral and interest free loans for a period of time. Changes daily so we'll see. I hope as many will need help. That being said our kids will e paying this forever.
  14. Happy Birthday JG, enjoy it. It certainly will be a year you will remember!
  15. Listening to the PM today and i am starting to wonder how much freedom we might have next winter. Seeing how your Premier has locked down the province it might be a very different year until theres a vaccine or cure. As far as the border opening for non essential travel I don’t see this happening soon. Our friends might not be joining us. I hope I'm wrong but we will likely see more than one wave of this virus and only with measures in place will it be managed. Stay safe.
  16. My condolences to Crazy and his family. I wish his family and all who are effected throughout the world by this nothing but the best. Unlike some in high powers I don't think this will be over soon and unfortunately expect to see more of these posts before its over. Stay safe and air hugs to all.
  17. Thanks for this input. I decided on the Klimate. Found a good deal for non current (19) out of Canada and pulled the trigger last night. I already got a new jacket this season and new boots as well so I think I'm good now for next winter. Mike
  18. I'm fortunate that i live just across the border. When I was young & high school days, the 70's my father sent me every weekend to Perkins Quebec at Mcgregor Lake. Doing 50 miles a day back then was tough, lol. Usually would end up at Hotel St Pierre on Saturday nights. Even though I wasn't nearly of legal age quarts were served. This place also always had an ice track out front and usually about mid night the silly racing started. Many good times until about 81 when my sled was stolen and that was it until the mid 90's. Neighbor convinced me to get back into it. Bought a new ZR600 and thought that was king. Had i stayed riding around my house I'm sure it would have. I was hearing about this place called Mout Laurier. Apparently the center of the sledding Universe. We drove up and couldn't believe all the rigs & sleds. This was going to be awesome. Took the Petit trail - rail line down to Tremblant area, you could do it back then, lol. Well i found by 600 was pinned the whole way and I wanted more. Next season came the 1999 Thundercat! Well from then I was only venturing locally around the Mt Pellier area and some times back to Mt Laurier. One weekend when i had no partner I was on the internet and found a guy who would ride with me ( I believe its Gary known as Quebec1). I would meet him at Mt Laurier and we would head north for the day. Here I was thinking JB Scott and back would be a good run. Well that day we went to Parent and back! While i though that was a huge day he sledded back to his place in St Agathe that night. I think he was close to 500 miles for the day. Well after seeing these big fast trails I was hooked and realizing there was a lot more out there I could and wanted to try and as they say the rest is history.Haven't bought an Ontario pass in years. Still the infamous Cote Nord to tackle but otherwise seen most other areas. New GPS just delivered today and prepping for next season. But the best resource for any sledder wanting to ride Quebec is this site. The members on this site are truly amazing and were blessed to have this site and all these tremedous people offering help and advice. Stay safe through this. Winter will be back. Mike
  19. Looking for advice on new bibs for next winter. I have an older pair of Keweenaw bibs but don't find them warm enough anymore. I tried the FXR and did'nt like the fit. Looked at the Ride 509 Range but I'm Leary on these as they don't seem to have been around long. I was going to get new Keweenaw but I don't like the new design with the removable suspenders and upper bib section. They also have the Klimate which are similar in spec i believe and this design appeals more to me. Anyone have the newer bibs and can vouch for the Klimate for warmth & fit? Lastly any better place to buy for off season deals that you know. Thanks in advance Mike
  20. Good job! I have the cat version but I also installed the GSE power steering kit Love the sled
  21. Poor year for me with only 2400 miles. All but 1 day were really great conditions through. Thanks to Dave and Eddie for having pitty on me and taking me with them on a 3 day run. Thanks again guys.
  22. Was this Lottery just the US or Canada as well? I've been a cat guy the last while.
