Going to Try Again
Nice pics, great trails and a new friend. You can't plan things like that. Enjoy the ride and keep posting. We love it. Jack & Sandi

Who ordered the pizza?
Are there really this many drivers that don't know the difference between a road and a snowmobile trail? Most roads have signs with a snowmobile depicting "Snowmobile Crossing Ahead". Be careful out there. Jack & Sandi

Who ordered the pizza?
The driver knows he is in double trouble now. Not only is he on a snowmobile trail but the sign indicates it is a one way trail and he is going in the wrong direction! ⬅️🫢

Crash near Wemo
I'm sure the other riders in the group are thinking the what if we did something a little different and then the accident wouldn't have happened. All of us have to think about that "what if" scenario whenever we stop on a trial. Are we in a bad visibility spot? Is there plenty of room for sleds to get around us? What if traffic is coming from both directions? What if there is a lot of snow dust that day and the second or third sled in a group can't see thru the snow dust? Our condolences to all involved. Gas between Marina Chibougamau and La Dore
Hi Floridarider. You don't mention if anyone of the 6 are carrying extra gas. Not everyone may need to carry extra gas because you have luggage but on a trip of that length, it would be wise to have at least one or two sleds carrying extra gas just in case. That way, at least someone can continue on for assistance if need be. Enjoy the ride and be safe. Jack & Sandi

The deer happen to appear out of nowhere. They like the snowmobile trails too. Moose are the ones you have to keep your distance from. They are unpredictable to say the least. Glad to hear you had a good time. It is great riding with the wife. Checking the FCMQ map gives a lot of info regarding grooming and snow depth. Worthwhile for planning saddlebag rides or day trips. 2026 Rivière du Loup Trail Condition
Sandi and I have been at the Universal for this past week. The trails have been excellent. Not much traffic during the week. A little more on the weekend. The only trails that are thin are the ones right along the St Lawrence. Once you get a few miles into the woods, the trails are typical mid winter. Remember many of the relais' are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We have enjoyed the company of other QuebecRiders here. Great to see everyone. We are heading to Lac St Jean the beginning of February. Hope to see some of you there. Jack & Sandi

2026 Rivière du Loup Trail Condition
Hi Steve. I was talking with Mike Rider. He had read that article too. The east lot where we park trailers now has curbs and painted lines in it. That must be the new 100 stall lot. It fits with the drawing in the article you posted. That must be the beginning work. Jack & Sandi

Hi Paddy. Where is trail 588? I want to make sure we can say hi to the officers if we see them. Jack & Sandi

2026 Rivière du Loup Trail Condition
Hi Steve (Fuse 6), You might be referring to the restaurant renovation. That was 2 years ago 2024 if I remember correctly. That was finished before last winter. The previous renovation before that were rooms back by the Spa area. That has been a few years ago. Sandi and I are up here with MikeRider and Joe Jak. Like it has been posted, the trails are in fine shape. You will find a trail here and there that maybe a little drifted or thin in the fields. Overall it is great riding. Not too many sleds out on the trail yet. We are expecting more will show up over the weekend. Jack & Sandi

The Polaris
Hi Mike. Maybe if you offer MrGutz a free meal you can get him to check out your computer. I hear he is pretty good at those things. See you soon. Jack & Sandi

Lac-Etchemin lodging
Hi Capril19. What smclelan said is a very nice ride. 55 is rolling hills thru maple tree farms and 35 is the railbed. Gas up in in St Pamphile. There is a gas station at each end of town. It is about 180 miles round trip according to the FCMQ map but you have 45 miles on the 35 railbed. If you are going to be there for a week, do Tourville during the week. It is a very nice relais but it gets very busy on weekends. You could easily spend an hour there getting food. During the week before noon would be better. There are windmills on trail 547 or 549. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. It has been awhile since we have been there. There is also a tower lookout on one of those green trails that is very nice on a clear day of course. Motel Berniers and Restaurant Normandin is at the north end of 75 in . That is about 75 miles one way. The last couple of miles is in town but should be well marked. This is also the place where one would get the transport, truck and trailer, to go across the river to Quebec City. The trails to the southeast are good but the trails to the northeast are better. Enjoy the ride. Jack & Sandi
