  1. TDI when I read your post it reminded me of my first exposure to snowmobiles. It was the winter of 1966-67 and my best friend got a brand new Ski-Doo. His dad would take us out on that sled and after the first ride I was hooked!!! I can close my eyes 41 years later and still smell that sled. Andy
  2. Lounge ,Dinner, JR's sounds to me like the trip is going great!!! Say hi to Bill for me. Andy
  3. Bill you know I am always interested in a nice rack! Went out for a ride today colder than blazes. Truck showed minus 33 when I unloaded! Yet we are getting rain this week. Pic is in the local area. Andy
  4. Here is a report. Pic of me after 310 miles minus 24. Pic 2 Me talking to the QPP AGAIN!!! One of several occasions on this trip!!! Andy
  5. Hi Bill I just wanted to let you know Mubs and I made it home safe and sound yesterday afternoon. Thanks for being a great host and tour guide. It was great to see everyone and meet Zeusand and Hden. We had a great ride on the Gaspe on the way home. We ended up with 1457 miles over the six days of riding. Hope to see you next month God willing. Andy Pic from trail 597 on the Gaspe not groomed and a lot of fresh snow!
  6. Thanks Switchback I am just trying to piece together the most accurate picture of the trails I can after the meltdown. We are going for a ride next week and hopefully we will not have too many dead ends. Andy
  7. Thanks Bill We have been wondering what you found. Say hello to that deer feeding camera carrying character from Vermont for me. Andy
  8. Thanks for taking the time to go out and snap those pics Jean-Guy. Like the saying goes a picture says a thousand words! The conditions are pretty well what I had expected. I think we will have the biggest problems with the low areas filling with water and the brooks and rivers overflowing their banks and any plowed roads will be bare. Andy
  9. Switchback what are your conditions after this meltdown? Andy
  10. Groomer what is the weather and snow situation in your area after this melt down? Andy

  13. Hi Bill Lisa ,Andrew and myself want to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and nothing both good health and happiness in the New Year. Lisa wants you to know Bill that everything is great health wise! See you in paradise! Andy
  14. Midrange what a beautiful sight! Andy
  15. Have a safe & great holiday Bill and I will see you up in Paradise! Andy
  16. Very sorry to hear about this Robert I hope you and your team can get things back on track and work toward your goal of winning Cains Quest! Andy
  17. The only thing I could add to the previou post is that Early Rider has been to the Zec this season and found terrible conditions as they were plowing many of the roads. I expect that the plowing will end soon as the snow levels make the logging very difficult and the sledders can take their trails back. Contact the Relais at Onatchiway or Jeannette at Auberge du Barrage for updated info. Andy
  18. Looks to me like all on road diesel is ULSD here in the great white north. Andy http://retail.petro-canada.ca/en/independe...20diesel%20fuel?
  19. To the best of my knowledge the only other pass that is required would be a pass for the private Zec at Onatchiway other than that you are good to go with your FCMQ pass for all of the other parks, trails etc. Andy
  20. Thank you very much groomer. Steven came up last night and we had a bit of a celebration here at the house and then we headed out to the local watering hole for a few birthday pops. I was out for a ride on my sled yesterday locally it was great to get out. The biggest problem we are having is plowed roads and open water as nothing is frozen. We have lots of snow but we can't go very far. We will be up your way very soon for a visit. Andy
  21. No it is on the south side of the Sainte Anne River. You cross the river very shortly after leaving the Roguemont. Andy
  22. I found this story on the CBC. Remember folks even though we are getting snow we have not had much cold weather and the lakes are NOT safe yet. Just give it a bit more time. Andy Snowmobiler dies in lake near La Tuque, Que The body of a man who disappeared from La Tuque, Que., on Saturday was found by his son Sunday morning. Guy Bourassa, 79, had been crossing a lake in the Mauricie area, north of Trois Rivières, when his snowmobile fell through the ice. "He went through the ice, but he was able to come to the shore by himself. But, because of the cold in this area, he died during the night," said provincial police spokesman Michel Brunet. In the Shawinigan area, a 71-year-old man almost died in a similar accident. He was dogsledding on a lake when he and team of dogs broke through the ice. "He was able to stay at the surface of the water because he was hanging on to the dog sled," Brunet said. Two of the police officers who came on the scene … [threw] him a rope, and even our policemen went in the water — both of them." Brunet said the officers, the dogsledder and the dogs were all able to get to shore safely with help from other officers. The dogsledder was taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia. Police have not released his name. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/montreal/story/20...bile-fatal.html
  23. A very nice slide show! It gives a good indication of the conditions. Thanks again Andy
