  1. Absolutely amazing.thank you for giving me something to watch in July!
  2. Have done the wood runner trail.Looking for more miles in unfamiliar territory.
  3. Thanks for the info. Recently got back from a 1500 mile backpack trip in Ontario.Have seen nearly all of that province and looking for some new places to see.
  4. Already planning for next year, giving myself time to do research. We would probably launch out of the Mont Laurier area.Would prefer to head east, have ridden west of there to Ontario.Don't mind 250 mile days but prefer to stay under 325-350.Just some ideas and lodging recommendations would be great so I can take a look on the map. Thanks guys.
  5. Your adventures kick ass keep us posted.
  6. How were things at Hotel Central?
  7. You are correct. Guess I'm upside down.
  8. The trail east of Balbuzzard is absolutely frightening.Between the lack of traffic and not alot of trail signs,if you ever got in there when it was snowing and blowing and god forbid night, you'd really be screwed.
  9. You are correct about Hotel Central Parent. We were warned it was a pretty tough place but the people couldn't have been nicer from the employees to the lumber crew staying there,The rooms above the bar are "interesting".Can't beat a place to sleep for $25.
  10. We have reservations there for Monday night so yes.
  11. We pack a heat gun when we do saddlebag trips.Had a couple days of -30 mornings that didn't go so well.
  12. Trout Lake lodge was closed last year, will know in 10 days about this year.
  13. Please post on how your stay was.Considering staying there later this year. Also on how the 63 is shaping up. Thanks Mcstar for the CC info.
  14. Not nearly as planned.Left New Liskeard Ontario at -30 degrees F. All 3 of us began to feel ill shortly before noon. One guy barely got his helmet off in time to puke. Some bad food at breakfast apparently. Stopped a t Pavilon La Verendre to get fuel.Asked how far it was to Mont-Laurier. The lady said with a surprised look, about 200 miles. And it was. Lesson learned- the Quebec Federation interactive map is not accurate at all on trail mileage.Expected 300 miles -it was 380.Pulled into the Quality Inn at 8:30. Guy that puked said his one finger really hurt.It was turning color.Hoped it would be better in the morning. Day 2- guy with finger goes to hospital even though we told him there would be nothing they could do.They charged him $1200 to tell him there was nothing they could do.At that point I thought we would be packing it up and heading home.He didn't want to take a chance on riding and getting it cold again.I would have rode.Spent the next couple hours trying to rent a car to get back to the truck. Not an easy task when you're in a foreign country and don't speak their language. In hind sight the other 2 of us should have ridden back.Spent the next 6 hours driving back to truck.Day 3- spent 6 hourdriving truck/trailer and rental car back to sleds.Thank god they were still there.Almost got killed by a logging truck going 60 MPH around a corner on an icy road.Day 4- we decide the 2 guys that can ride will do day trips from hotel.I get about 3 miles away when my check engine light came on with no power on my 2015 XRS 800. Spent the next 3 hours at the Ski Doo dealership but at least they got me fixed up.Proceed to close the bar that night and got to bed at 3:45 AM. Day 5- Did a loop after a late start.Day 6- 9 hour ride home. Although we only saw a small portion of what we had planned,we were very impressed with the trails and hospitality and will definately be back.We now have an agreement that if one of us has a problem, the rest of us will continue after the one with the problem is headed back to the truck.Had planned on a loop up around Parent and Val D'or but only saw that area through the windshield of a mini van.Guys finger tip is black but doctor back here says it should be ok in time. Was awesome seeing a different culture and can honestly say we were never treated rudely even though we don't speak French.
  15. Thanks guys for the info.Been all over Ontario and looking for new trails.Very excited and a little nervous.Kind of the leader of the group and don't want to screw up. Will post a report on return home. Thanks again.
