This am ran from Amos up 307 to 396 to Matagami. Then down 396 to 93 south to Sennetterre. A++ all day. 275 miles.

Left La Domaine (not 5 star accmodations) at about -38f. Took 63 west and dropped down to for gas and breakfast at outfitter on 386 just south of 63 (forget it's name). Ran 386 north to Louvicourt......very good to excellent. 83 west to 309N, to 93W into Amos. All excellent. Less fresh snow up here but plenty, and tighter. 260 miles

From ML headed west in 13/63, then 322 west, then 63W to La Domaine. Snow plentiful but loose. We either broke trail or were 3/ 4 tracks in a single wide trail the whole way. Few too many stucks for me and the base wasn't groomed in a while. Met some guys that just came down 386 from Val Dor and they said just groomed but loose snow.

Mark (snow shark) and I arrived in Mont-Laurier yesterday. We met Fuse6 and his son last night at the restaurant. Stated snowing here about 5pm yesterday and as of now I'd guess 4-6" of snow has fallen. We're headed quest to Val Dor and hope to update later tonight Correction: prob 10-12" of powder this AM

Snow tracker carbide how well do they work
im4snow replied to Bluegrass's topic in General Discussion
Exactly as Cold Beer said. However, Bluegrass......if you are ordering a new sled, I'd get one with the adjustable carbides and try it -
Very sad. RIP

Looks great, thx for posting

I like your style. Do you have any side pics and I assume the side "platforms" were custom made? Not to mention having to tow someone. They do like the gas when you're towing!!!

First Time North of the River- Need Some Advice

I agree on the orange trails around Valin. Hard to go wrong in that entire region in my experience. How many sleds on the trip? -

Ok, since you didn't like my first advice I'm out. Did you mileage map day two....it seems pretty ambitious...but doable? -

Ambitious days. When leaving St Felician......I outlined in red (see below, excuse the poor artwork) the route I've been on and I really enjoyed it. However, it will add to your mileage that day as there are shorter ways around the lake. -
Great, thx for the info. At least on Tue of next week Rabaska was full.

Just booked it for next week. Thx for the info.

Thx Viper2. That was my rough assumption regarding ML. Will adjust accordingly to minimize the odds of issues.

Nice run

Thanks for all the great info. Regarding parking in Mont-Laurier.....is the Comfort Inn "safe" to park for a saddle bag trip? If not, any good suggestions in that area? John

Hi, I'm doing some tentative trip planning. Since I'd cross a couple different regions I figured I'd post the question here, in the General Forum. Leaving from roughly Sennetterre, and headed east across 83 all the way until we can drop down 13. 1) Curious about gas on this stretch of 83...we're good for roughly 120+ miles per tank leaving from Sennetterre. 2) Once we get to 13, we plan to drop down 13 and stay at what I think is the only option.....Outfitter Fer A Cheval (on 13, north of Mont-Laurier).....any feedback on this destination? Thanks in advance for any feedback. John

Any sleds parked outside start this morning?
im4snow replied to vinc7897's topic in General Discussion
That just serves to build character. -
It's available but not always super convenient....... in my limited experience. I leave full (obviously) and carry the equivalent of 5 quarts (one of which is in the Doo goggle bag that mounts on the clutch guard, the other four in the luggage somewhere). That's enough for the 4-5 days of riding we did around the Gaspe. I'm a fan of the Powderkeg. I use the stainless steel bottles (each has a 2 qtr capacity) for most of the oil I carry.

I have the same sled. With the estart it doesn't like to fire below -20F. Struggles below -10F. I added a manual pull start and use that to loosen it up on those cold mornings and can therefore get it fired.....one way or the other. -
Hi Snowfarmer.....great trip, reports, and pics. Regarding the bold above.....assuming you're referring to the 396 connecting Matagami and 93?
