    Yup, I agree on the sides/back of the neck gator.  Kind of makes you wonder what engineer/designer was thinking.

I also hate that it came with the amber sun visor.  On a sunny day no where near dark enough for my blue eyes.  I just bought the smoke one and put it on.  That was not as easy as the instructions indicate.  Even found a video from BRP where he takes it off and says how easy it is.  Sure it was easy coming off, but the video didn't show how to put the new one back in.  It's obvious how, but it still wasn't easy.  Pushing and pushing but could not pop it onto the pegs.  Needless to say now I am in one of those moods again with this helmet.

    Here is what I found.  When my sun visor fogged, I put it up and just like you after a few minutes I brought it down and it was still fogged.  But it seemed that once it was back down the fog would quickly go away.  I'm assuming the fog goes away from the heat of the shield.  What is strange though is if that is truly the case, then why does it fog in the first place?  I was wondering if the shield is fogging on both sides but when lifting it maybe the garage is only removing the fog on the side closest to your face, hence when you lower it the shield removes the fog from the front side????  Don't know, but I am mixed on this helmet.  Want to like, then it only takes one small issue and I'm ticked off the rest of the day because I spent $600 on it.  Then next day there are no issues and I love it. Rinse, repeat, etc.....

    It's $330 if you buy early which it well under $300 USD. for way more riding opportunities than you have at home. This winter has been a very slow start with milder than normal temps, hence the slow start and not so stellar conditions. Not debating you, just don't want to slam a really, really amazing organization. If it weren't for Quebec I would have given up riding years ago.

    Yes, forgot about the exchange rate, sorry!  I never buy early anymore because I never know with the weather how much I will be riding.  But even at $300 USD for annual pass I feel like this year they missed the high expectations they've been know for in the past. 

  5. I have contacted them in the past via email with good success, however I asked them a question this year back before Christmas and haven’t gotten a response yet. Granted there’s essentially no snowmobiling to be done in Pennsylvania but it is only $45 a year to register a snowmobile. For $410 a year, personally, I expect quite a bit more from the governing body. Can’t believe that in 2 to 3 months they can’t respond to a simple email. Also frustrated that their iOS app is so horribly slow and buggy this year. On top of it all I was there two weeks ago and the trails were not like they used to be. I’ve been riding Quebec for over 20 years and was always amazed how they used to groom perfectly flat trails they didn’t even need grooming. I had so many bumps I thought I was in upstate New York on tug hill.

    i wouldn’t consider staying anyplace else while in Parent. Owners André ( THE man in Parent) and Jeanie are FIRST class, both speak fluent English. And if you ever have a mechanical problem there is NO ONE in Parent that is more equipped the André at dealing with it. Has 100X50 shop and several employees on site.

    Thanks, I actually figured it out shortly after I asked you. Doesn’t appear that they have a restaurant though. Would you recommend this for someone that puts an emphasis on food? I’m not about roughing it, when I get done at the end of the day I want a nice dinner and a full breakfast in the morning.

    Yes, I am pretty sure it is further east, but as I stated in my original post, I was questioning if I was remembering what I saw correctly.  Based on what you said, plus my recollection from last week, I'd say the map is wrong.

    To be honest, not real sure what is going on the FCMQ, they just don't seem to have their sh!t together this year.

So I was in Mont Laurier last week and I only went east on 63 once, but my memory was that I passed the intersection for 53 south before I reached the intersection for 53 north.  I visit the area every year so I know the trails quite well and notice when they change the trail year-to-year.  This is why I am almost certain I recall passing the 53 south intersection first because I remember thinking it was a new intersection this year.  Can anyone confirm if the map is wrong?  Also, when you turn on the grooming delay it still follows the trail as it is on the map.  If the groomer data is GPS based then that would make the case that the map is correct and my recollection is incorrect.

I went through the process for the first time last week without any problem, but just logged in to see if I could get past the page where you select a club and I cannot get any clubs to show up either.  Last week I was using a chromebook laptop (obviously with chrome browser), today I am on my work laptop (windows) with chrome browser.  Clicking search does nothing.

    Correction, I literally just went to take a screen shot and decided to click search one more time and all of the sudden now I get a snowmobile icon on the map.

As I was looking at my new sled I was struggling to find a good spot for my PA sticker and Quebec trail pass, so I am happy to have one less sticker on my sled.  I was wondering if they would ever go to a ski slope style ticket that you put on your jacket, glove, etc...  It will be nice one day when they implement technology to just scan either a QR code or RFID chip to check your pass.

  12. Can anybody find the official (i.e. in writing) requirement for the trail pass sticker placement requirements.  For example, here in PA, this is the requirement:

    Snowmobile owners will be issued two identical registration decals and two expiration stickers to be affixed to the machine.

    The two snowmobile registration decals shall be affixed to the snowmobile forward of the handlebars, one on each side of the cowling, or one on the outside of each trailing edge of the windshield.

    An expiration sticker shall be affixed to the immediate right of each registration decal.

  13. Anyone else notice the app seems to be very sluggish this year? Zooming in and out, panning to different areas, etc...., all seem very slow. Plus, why does the app still say 2018 (yes, I have the latest version/update installed)?

    To be honest, something seems different this year with the Federation. Last year I emailed them a few different times with questions and their response was very quick. Emailed them probably 3 to 4 weeks ago with a question and got no response. What furthers my suspicion is that there are still so many trails that are still closed on her interactive map. I have noticed trails have been groomed for weeks and are still showing red on the map.

    Forgot to mention too....I bought a frozen pizza up at the grocery store and cooked it in the common kitchen area one night (they even had a pizza cutter in the drawer) and also brought some chili (frozen in a bag) that the wife made me before the trip. She has bowels/plates and cooking utensils there for you.

    Doubler ...did you check out Arctic Cat gear. I don’t know what they make for women but I have the same problem with a 29 inseam for myself. They has smaller inseams than Klim and for 180 bucks they are really nice bibs and I’m on season two now with no complaints 

    Klim can kiss my ass on there altering fees on top of their already handsomely priced bibs

    I did not think to check out the other manufactures bibs.  I did decide to go with the alterations by Klim.  I wear Klim since 2009 and really like their gear, although I see that others are not so thrilled with them.

    i didnt get a chance to vent it yet and was riding her pretty hard. Plus it was warmer than usual Quebec riding temps. Just trying to cool the young girl down a bit. 

     

     

     

    Ah, that makes sense.  And no, I never had a 1200, just 4 etecs and never opened the panels, that's why I had to ask.  Sorry to hear about Peanut.  We had to put down 2 cats in the last 2 years.  Not easy.

Thought I would let everyone know what I found out about Klim.  Their regular inseam in women's bibs is 29".  They do offer a short version which is 27" however not every size is available in the short length.  For example the bib we want the short can only be gotten starting at medium and my wife is an XS.  So if you're short but not super tiny they might have a bib that works for you.  They also offer a hemming service.  They are able to take off a maximum of 3", so that is what we did to end up with a 26" inseam.  It is expensive though in my opinion: $155.  Luckily my dealer is being gentle on me by discounting the bibs a decent amount to help offset the $155.  Hope this info can help someone else.

    So is that the motion 6? If I understand what I was reading/seeing with the Uclear, the microphone is up near your cheekbones correct? Meaning no microphone on a boom out in front of your mouth?
