  5. unions....."not my duty or responsibility"....blah, blah, blah exactly why their member numbers have been going south for decades ABOLISH all public sector unions NOW
  6. I'll hopefully be "Loaded Up" a week from tonight. Had to change plans today because of yesterdays meltdown. Staying optimistic.
  7. Thanks for posting those links Playhard. At least pretty boy didn't fully capitulate and close the border down. I have to give him credit for that. Thankfully I still have a glimmer of hope that on Christmas day I'll get across the border and see the mother land once again.
  8. Your browser probably is doing funny things
  9. The “theory “ is that the natives do not have the immune systems we do because they are not exposed to the stuff we are. It’s more devastating if something gets into one of their communities.
  10. I would be more concerned about traveling 150 miles of unmaintained/unmarked trail they Officially closed the whole section north/south on the interactive map yesterday
  11. This all just warms my heart
  12. I fuc&@g knew it. Fu$k all this snowmobiling shit Anyone want a screaming deal on a 2017 1200 Enduro. I’m WAY past the point of being sick of all this shit as I’m sure most people are. hopefully the FCMQ will put my money to good use. Consider it a gift to all my Canadian friends on here and elsewhere.
  13. I wanted to throw this out there and get fellow QR's opinion regarding the supposed $150.00 PCR tests. I called a local Walgreens last week and the pharmacist told me they have a NAAT test (free ) that gives same day results and he indicated people were using it to travel to Canada without issues. All you hear out there is PCR, PCR and nothing about a NAAT test. Accepted types of pre-entry tests PCR - Polymerase chain reaction Nucleic acid test (NAT) or Nucleic acid amplification test (NAATs) Reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) These tests use methods such as a nasopharyngeal (NP) swab, nose swab, or saliva sample. Rapid antigen tests aren't accepted. Other acceptable types of tests RT-PCR – reverse transcription real time PCR Quantitative PCR (qPCR) Isothermal amplification Droplet digital PCR or digital droplet PCR (ddPCR) Transcription-mediated amplification (TMA) RNA (Ribonucleic acid) Ct (cycle threshold) CRISPR Sequencing Next generational sequencing (NGS) or whole genome sequencing (WGS) Oxford Nanopore sequencing (LamPORE) Detection of the N gene Detection of Orf1a/b Detection of the S gene Detection of the E gene Detection of the RdRp gene
  14. F*&K that saw mill. Last time I ran that trail a couple years ago from Chiboug. down it sucked ass anyhow. After the sawmill south it was a lot better. If I don't ever get over that way again I'll be just fine.
  15. I’m convinced if I buy my trail pass before December 9th that on December 10th Canada will shut the border (and possibly the US) as well. This new “variant” surely looks like it”s going to ruffle some feathers and put many peoples panties in a bind. please tell me I’m delusional and all is well
  16. Look, I dont care how you raise your little snot nose, snowflake kid but here is the deal in Parent, Qc Hello all fellow snow thrashers !! Hope everyone is healthy and enjoying the holidays. I have some little tid bits of info for everyone on the booming metropolis of Parent. The O'mbre du Vent wont be open to snowmobilers this winter as Hydro Quebec is doing some project up near there and have gobbled up all the cabins and house. Word is they are closing in on the Central too. Also, the cellular service around there wont be up and functional this winter. I guess the lines and towers are up but not all connected yet so probably for sure next year. I have the exact sentiments as Je me souviens about what to do or not do regarding this season. With the December 9th date closing in I guess I have to make some decisions soon. The thought of not riding in Qc again this winter chills me to the bone. Thinking of doing another crazy solo northern run between Christmas/New years but have to get a hold of my indigenous buddies and see what the scoop is. Being around them and their reservations adds another level of complexity to all this bullshit. If I dont have their support to fall back on it's probably not wise for me to be up there alone. My best buddy and I often reflect back to March 18th 2020 when we got "kicked out" of Canada that "who woulda thunk" that almost two FU&%ING years later we would be dealing with all this. BTW, his 78 yr old father here in Dansville, NY was put on a ventilator two days ago (this will be day 3) Please pray for him !!!
  17. Whats with the "Walgreens testing for free" stuff. I thought it had to be a PCR test and thought they are like 150.00 ???
  18. That smooth looking mountain on the left almost looks like it was man made by pushing gravel over a hill with many D8's & D9's
  19. gotta look up the Hancock & Oriskany. I know they took the America 300 mi. off the coast of South Carolina somewhere after stripping it down and sunk it in a torpedo exercise.
  20. How many vets out there ? did my time on the USS America CV66 1983-1986 bitched the whole time I was in the Navy but looking back it’s the best thing I ever did
  21. Problem with that place is finding someone there to power up and supervise the pumps. They should just make it credit card access only and leave the pumps operational 24/7 but maybe there are laws about that and technical hurdles there. I remember many years ago on one of my crazy ass solo runs pulling into there one sunny cold afternoon not another snowmobiler around, I parked over by the cafeteria and went inside to eat and rest up. I’m in there for about 45 minutes and the kitchen was all finished cleaning up from lunch and place was pretty quite. I’m laying down across a wooden bench resting my back and all of a sudden the place goes black without electricity. I jump up and look outside and an electric crew is up in a bucket cutting wires. I’m like …,WTF…. And yes the gas pumps would be without power for approximately 2.5-3 hrs. that was the last time at a remote place I ever stopped at and didn’t fill up right away upon arrival you never know WTF is gonna happen in a short period of time that will delay your trip i remember getting down to LSJ well after dark and that was not my plan
  22. In another month (mid December) will be the 15th anniversary of me taking delivery of my 2007 F150 it currently has 44,xxx miles on it and 3/4 of that was probably making Quebec trips in late December of 2006 (maybe early January) I drove it brand new to Sherbrooke to spend the night with my buddy Andre. The next morning we drove to Domaine Valga and spent the night. We left our truck there and did a Gaspe run. I remember it being an awesome place too !!!!
  23. Couldn’t have worded it better Bob hope we get to see the old man and Gypsy this winter
