It must have been the "Rush" song "Sweet Miracle" .........OR.....the "sticker".....either way...I'LL TAKE IT !!!!
Nautico performed compression and leak down and it appears nothing bad with engine. Thermostat and temp sensor should be there today. Overheat and temp sensor showed up on computer but nothing about oil pressure.
Gotta love Skidoo and the MIGHTY 1200   !!!!!

Dont know but two years ago a buddy and I from Vermont hit it in a "sweeter than sweet" moment. Sure is a nice trail.
It is the one that goes from outside of Clova to outside Fer a Cheval ...right?

One thing is for sure. The sticker will be responsible for whatever the outcome with my sled is.
if the dealer calls and says sled is ready and the total is 418.00 it’s the sticker .
if they call and say your toast it’s the sticker.  :)

Here it is on my cabinet in my "man cave" where it has been for 20 yrs
Notice where I placed the poster and where the door handles are in the picture. Not one person has ever walked into my garage and NOT made a comment about that.

Here.... a ticket stub from March 28th, 2002 when I pulled up to the Shania Twain Museum (now long gone) in Timmins, Ontario by myself on a beautiful sunny day on a 2001 MXZ800.

I remember going over those bridges on solo trip’s  (twice no less) many years ago. I used to go to this crazy little depanneur in Le Rein ( long gone and burned down) fill up to the rim and take two 1 gallon windshield fluid jugs filled with gas. I would put one each down by my footwell and ride in and dump them 10-20 miles in. Those bridges were “bat-shit” crazy scary to cross (150ft off the ground , no sides ) and should have been tore down years before I crossed them. Truly one of the scariest sections I have ever traversed alone. I remember looking down in those valleys and seeing tracks going up and down those steep sides (thru the woods no less) and wondering in disbelief how anyone would have the “go-nads” to think they would make it....but they did !!!
i have two “momentos” from the trips out in my “man cave” and will take pics and story about both soon.

Great news. Another fine day in QC. I remember being at the Rougemont (??) several times but never stayed there. Was there not a gas station (Artic Cat) something right next to the parking lot ? I have fond memories of a lot of these places from years gone by but will most likely never see them again. I've turned into a recluse "bush trail" rider. Wont find me anywhere near Quebec City, St Raymond, Roberval, Valdor etc...
If I'm not "in the bush" I'm just not happy. I go to Quebec to get away from it all....and I mean "away from it all". Now this certainly has it's disadvantages but for me it works. Most of the time. And with places like "Camp de Base" in Casey, Haltaparche, Andre's camp, etc... and the new "technology" at all of them I feel much safer in my journeys. Told the wife the other night....."no more solo shit" for me........"I'm done" with that....got lucky all those years and too old to chance it anymore.
So happy for EVERYONE that monday brings an ease to these restrictions and everyone can eat inside again. Never knew a club sandwich could literally freeze solid in under two minutes outside. LOL

Trudeau and Jean-Guy from Haltaparche are now overseeing and testing the sample kits from his living room there on the "83".  They have Starlink 300mb internet to upload the results straight to Ottawa. If you are found to be "positive" you are to report IMMEDIATELY to the air strip in Casey. There you will be flown to Columbia in an especially equipped twin engine prop plane that is purpose built to handle Covid situations. Kinda like the 1976 John Travolta movie "Boy in the bubble". When you land in Columbia.....the rest is up to the "cocaine cartel"........

We left clayton ny this morning about 9 30 a got to the border before 10. Not one car In front of us and none in site. Got to the agent and she was polite and very professional.  There less than 5 minutes on on our way. Got up to Ethans at 3 30 this afternoon.  Lots of snow and best of all the trail we are headed for in the morning was groomed a couple days ago and had no traffic.  Info came from the groomer operator.  We are in  Rapid  des Joachim. We are headed for Timiscaming and onward north.  We are at the outfitter here and 43 is less than a mile away.  The owner is Ethan and what a wonderful person he is. Has a main lodge and a couple cabins.  Groomer operator said north of here there is tons of snow.
Tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day.

    Awesome cinema photography
I didn’t watch that Viking series but most likely will now.
I looked around for 1200 engines just for giggles. Next to nothing out there and certainly nothing you would chance dropping in a sled that goes where mine does. I even called Al’s in Vermont- NOTHING. And when you go on the net and look for used 1200’s (US & Canada) the prices people are asking is just STUPID crazy.
I have too much invested emotionally and financially in my Enduro to let her go down like the Viking ship. She has a brand new 1.5 Ice Ripper, brand new E-drive 2 clutch (just because I got a steal on a new one for 400 bucks), new DuPont sliders, new 7” carbides, all new chain case parts, new 4th wheel kit, new heavy duty rear bumper, etc. Plus…. I have racks, bags, gps mount, custom LED lights and BRP front LED, Ride Light mount. Hell, I even have a horn on it … LOL
I’m so used to this machine and everything on it (that just works perfect for me 99% of the time) that I don’t want to even consider (or pay) for something “supposedly “ new and better. Let alone the extra time and money it would take to get the sled all set up for touring.
would I like a new 2022 Enduro turboR with all the bags and setup? Absolutely, but shelling out 20K + isn’t in the cards for me at the moment. Wife would go off the deep end and we can’t have that. That woman has given me a pass (mostly) for the last 25+ years and the UN-GODLY amount of money I have spent on this sport.
So, whatever it takes to revive the “old gal” will be done. Hell, I can get a factory rebuild 1200 long block (part # 421000678) for 4300.00 my cost, no tax.
So, no matter what the diagnosis and estimate is she WILL NOT be going down in flames like the Viking ship.
