  1. It won’t be long for you Mike!!
  2. Also note, 35 from Squa tec to the junction of 5 needs snow, it runnable, Everything north of Squa tec to RDL was great including the new trail by pass of St Rita on 571 RR
  3. We rode from RDL to ST Hubert, to Squa tec, Rimouski areas , than St Gabriel de rimouski, after that back country our way into Moose Valley NB. Good going, but as Groomer had reported the closer you get to Rimouski, it gets very skinny. But heading south towards Moose valley put us right back into good going. special note, the road from the NB border to the depot Kekegewick river crossing will be plowed for at least one more week, heavy logging on this area of the trail between Moose valley and Amqui Playing in the Moose valley area tomorrow, than?? Happy Trails RR
  4. Mike. You will be pleased with the conditions. Happy Trails!
  5. Dooright, that is a special place for sure. We are looking forward to our visit😁
  6. A good run today from Rockwood Maine to RDL thru the Chaudierre. Armstrong was just enough snow cover but once we turned east and headed into elevation we had plenty of snow and great conditions all the way to RDL. The club houses where mobbed with local Quebec riders. Winter is in full swing and the trails are great. Tomorrow Moose Valley NB and beyond!😉 Happy trails RR
  7. Talked with the boys last night, they said the trails where in great shape, an adequate enough snow base to get out of the Universal and out to the club house, after that, real good going!
  8. Here is a Boots on the trail report, from today, ......just not mine😢 Looking forward to talking with them, but the conditions look, from the pics , like they are back up , with adequate snow cover, powder on top and decent conditions. They were reporting on facebook of great riding conditions all day long. I will hear more from them tonight. We are riding from Rockwood to RDL on Saturday, so will have ...these ....boots on the trail than😁. Happy trails RR They hit Cabano and Pohengamook areas in these pics.
  9. Phil, yes same here, Just talked with guys who just trucked to the universal. Said conditions look good, will have boots on the trail report from them tomorrow 😉
  10. It’s a bummer to lose a day , but we have all been there for sure😉. I understand your concern on the studded single ply tracks, I , like gsx800, have gone to the ice ripper pre studded, also have run without any studs on the free rides, , all to avoid that issue you had. I too, prefer the ice ripper pre studded . Just enough grab to keep you straight. Look forward to hearing about your next rides. Safe travels RR
  11. Thank you for the updates Groomer Maybe a little more snow headed your way tomorrow? Happy New Years! RR
  12. Mike, When are you going to be in RDL?
  13. By the looks of the fcmq map, it appears the groomer has run from Senneterre to just east of Balbuzard? It it also looks like Chibougamo has run almost to the sawmill. good signs for the coming week!
  14. Downtown Moosonee, and the barges and tugs pulled aground for the winter season, which I suspect is long😁
  15. Mike, the ice road runs east of the Abitibi River, it is 100 miles long and has a manned gate at the lower end. When we got to the end of the road at the manned gate , we did notice a sign that snowmobiles were by permission only. The guy at the gate just waved us through. We were told about the road in Moosonee , they did not mention that to us about any restrictions and we were not back tracking lol. The ice road was cool, we crossed several good sized rivers, they just plow down onto the ice, over the river, and keep on going. Ice road truckers for sure! We met two vehicles in the 100 miles of this road😁 More of the Abitibi River going into Moosonee and the village from the river
  16. Great reporting Rev, sure hope you can find some less traveled departure locations around the area. It’s nice when you can get to these less traveled areas for sure. . Enjoy RR
  17. Mike , you are right, we did this “unguided “ . Not sure , I must not have gotten this trip on QR, it was a big run for us and not lots of time to post I guess. we basically went down the hydro power line, Moose and Abitibi rivers into Moosonee and than ran the 100 mile ice road back down to the Abitibi canyon. A fun run for sure. Here are a few more pics , it was cold there too when we were there! LOL Abitibi River Trail connecting to the river from the hydro line Locomotive at Moosonee and cold temps 100 mile Ice road on the return trip
  18. MikeR, that’s funny you should mention that, 603 backcountry and I did a Rockwood Maine to James Bay run at Moosonee Ontario via Cochran’s Ontario back in 2015. We have often discussed running across the south end of Jame Bay to the Rupert River and dropping back down into Matagami. i remember them telling us at Moosonee in 2015 that it is doable, but apparently at times the sea ice pulls apart in one of the regions between those two locations so you need to have the right conditions.😉 Lots of adventures to do yet, Winter just is not long enough lol
  19. Great trail reports, Snowmaster, how are the accommodations in Chapais
  20. Hi, Jack and Sandi, looking forward to your posts. Enjoy the riding! RR
  21. Snowmaster, that’s the way the trails are supposed to look like! That’s awesome, you found the zone for sure!! between you and Markus and dooright’s ride, I think our riding options for next Friday are coming into focus real clearly🤠 Great pics, enjoy and thanks for sharing. RR
  22. Looking like the conditions north of The Pelchat in Escoumin held up nicely. There was plenty of snow in the high lands here in early December as well. certainly an opportunity to do a mini saddlebag trip to Valin, Forestville regions from here. we are heading somewhere on the 4 th of January. Watching this region and MarkUS for his reports, who is up in the Gouin region this week Think snow! RR
  23. Carmen, nice find ! , looks like maybe that region Missed most of the rain? Great area to ride as well!!
  24. I agree sm, here is another photo from Lee at Moose Valley, taken 10am today, he said the immediate trail system in that area survived!
