  4. What I finally purchased was the Nuvi 500, The Nuvi 500 does not come with Canada Road maps, I choose the Nuvi 500 because it come with topo maps of the US. So I purchased an extra SD chip to go with it(Canada Road). Still learning how to use the unit and to put in favorite points in without taking off my gloves. But in General worked Great. I used it last week while in Quebec down to -15F, The battery only worked ~ 2 hours while mounted on teh handle bars. I did use my 12v connection that work well to recharge the unit but the cord is not built for the temperature. The wire coming out of the plug broke, so in the future I plan to hardwire to another connection point. Schooter

  19. Thank you for the GPS recommendation. and Yes we are planning on trailering to the HI. Still not sure why the interactive map does not show gas stations, I think it would be a benifit when planning a trip. One of the trial maps I did get was from Manicouagan area. The paper map show a trail (Chapelle snowmobile trail) connecting from RT 3 to Rt 93 ~ 122 km per the paper map. Does not look like there is any fuel so fuel up in Sacre-Coeur and then not to some place along rt 93 in Mt Valin ? (169 km) The interactive map indicates that they are not connected, So maybe Paper is better?
  20. Looking at the Saguenay area, leave from HI Jonquiere to Casino Charlevoix and stay in Tadoussac, maybe up route 3 day two, but look like a total back track to get back to HI vi Mt Valin area.
  21. Feds just drop the lending rate, might be a good idea to exchange some $ now before it de - values more.
  22. I have been using the FCMQ interactive trail map to investigate some possible saddlebag trips. An item that I have not been able to find using this system are refueling locations. I have down loaded the trail map information into Google Earth as an overlay, but with that I loose the ability to tally the miles. Does anyone know if I am just missing something on the FCMQ map system or a better tool for planning. maybe there is a recommended download to a GPS system that would be better Thax SCHOOTER
