12/18/12 7pm Still Snowing Major Dump.

This could be a problem Not thinking there is much safe Ice around. Now with all this snow on the thin ice gonna take longer to freeze. Maybe. One weather says +4 and rain friday we shall see. This one is usually right.

I cleaned off the hot tub last night. This snow is all today. and still snowing. very wet snow. The Wife retuns from a little rip.

12/18/12 12pm Snowing like mad. Wet stuff very heavy. More snow from this now then all night sunday and monday. 8"+ still going. Saw the VTT groomer go by. No Work on sled trails by club here as of yet. Probably soon for sure. Will advise. With pictures later. The wife begged me to fire up her sled, gave in and she is burning up the neighborhood on the roads. I only ride the road when I need to, not for fun. Ah the good old days. I did ride her sled though so I guess that counts.

12/18/12 Tuesday 10am Snowing big time 30F An easy 5-6" new snow since yesterday.

Me too, waiting for more neige, today was a great start to the week for sure. We shall see how it goes.

Weather Report looks good for Tuesday, Friday However is gonna be interesting to see what happens. Looking borderline. Maybe a little rain on top of the new snow could be a good thing for a solid base to develop. Time will tell. More pictures tomorrow.

12/17/12 Has warmed up a bit 30F Snow has stopped. A Good 7" fell for sure. Looks like round 1 is over. All snowblowed and shoveled ready for more. Bring it.

Hard to say right now nowa, let you know in a few days. If we get all the snow they say then probably St Raymond will open for sure, or maybe La Tuque , Here in Shawinigan yet to be seen. Will keep you informed.

12/17/12 Snow has kicked it into high gear in the last 30min.

Monday 12-17-12 snow continues very fine light stuff. about 2.5in since yesterday afternoon 25F and windy supposed to be more we shall see rain south of montreal one forecast saying rain wed here too. all we can do is wait. pics for crazysnow

Male age 65 trail 545 in St. Claire. Ejected from sled after missing curve. Speed may have been a factor. Sympathies to the Family and Friends. 2 different reports one said he had his grandson on machine who was uninjured. The other makes no mention of the grandson being a passenger.

Absolutely Tragic. After 9/11 billions were spent on beefed up airport security and the TSA. To search for terrorists (and frisking little children and old ladies). Time to step up school security for real. Yes its sad but needed. With the world we live in today. At least one armed guard per school. Probably plenty of volunteers in the form of parents or Granparents interested in being involved to help keep it affordable, then again what price can you put on childrens security and safety? Too many out there not wrapped too tight and yes maybe the shooter could shoot the guard, nothing is guaranteed. How about arming the principals of these schools too and training them in firearms. Its a start. Guns don't kill people. People do. Usually those who are a few sandwiches short of a picnic, so it seems in these mass shootings anyway. Either way it is tragic and I pray for all those affected Families, First Responders and Police.

I believe they receive major tax credits but NOT related to trail passage. Its has nothing to do with trails. They just get the tax breaks. From other deals made to subsidize the farms and keep them going in Quebec. Any farmers here? Or Anyone who knows the deal please share. I know one exists for tax breaks now. Just not sure of details.
