i can understand the Farmers wanting revenue from their land. It is their right for sure. However, and please I am no expert on the subject and not a farmer, but as i Undertand it, many of these farmers receive incredible tax breaks on their land from the Gov't. If i am wrong then I am wrong. It's just not right for others with less land paying more taxes on it, how is that different then some clubs paying farmers and some not. Most of these farmers are well compensated in the form of property tax reductions and its time for that to end if they want to play these games. I say cancel the tax breaks they get and see how they like it then. We need permanent trails there are enough logging roads and hydro-quebec lines it could be done. Where necessary negotiate long term rights of access and forget the yearly hostage negociations. Very selfish the move by Saguenay to pay the ransom. For sure as you say smclelan "a very dangerous pressident". It spells doom for Quebec trails if each farmer demands compensation for passage province wide. Then game over.

Yup, here we go again. Time for some permanent trails. There is no way they can give to some farmers and not others just not gonna work. Bad plan to start that bullsh*t of paying them for use in the first place. It will never end now. Every farmer will have their hand out and hold the club hostage till they get paid. Right now about 4" of snow is all in St Raymond and the area nearby. For sure more up on 23 in the park, but in St Raymond not much happening yet. River Pierre also 4-5" is all the snow they have right now. Stay tuned

Tues 12/11/12 Freezing rain ended around 6pm monday. Have a solid 5" of snow with a crust on top. Cold today 22f Here's to hoping the grass is gone till April.

They received about 20cm saturday dec 8 Should get more for sure this week.

Figured I would start this thread and update after each snow event. 12/9/2012 After snowing all day yesterday it totaled only about 2" at least all is white outside now. Back to where we were before the rain last week. It is colder today and they say some real snow tonight and Monday. Waiting to see what happens.

Forecast changed again now saying +3c and Rain for monday. I'll be looking for that 20cm of snow not seeming like it's gonna be this week. Maybe some reverse psychology? Might help.

No worries NH moose, as always we will manage. There is gonna be gas at Lac Edward thats all thats important. Mt Apica sorry to see it closed but not a factor. Perce same thing. Not a game changer.

Hearing about a right of way issue. Thought it was getting to town from TQ 3, with the new construction on the mtn. there. It is not. No problem to get to gas and Hotel Baie St. Paul. Problem is when you cross the highway 138(behind Tim Hortons) to go the local trail to reach 377(i think) to get to Clermont and Casino. Lost the right of way. Residents complained about snowmobiles in front of their homes. Went to the town with petition and now we got no trail. Club is working on solution but not looking easy or doable right now.
