  1. Great trip Steve, pics are killing me, I will be there soon.
  2. I stayed in this very same cabin the day of the big storm late February 2019, 2.5 ft, ride from hell...but wouldn't miss the adventure...like you the only sleds on the trail...rode the whole day breaking trail for my friends with the extreme, great report, say hello to JG for me, Bob.
  3. Air Medic is very cheap and if you get seriously hurt in the bush it may save your life and your fortune....everyone should have this
  4. Wow, never have I seen this parking lot empty...this has to really be hurting a lot of people...looks more than safe to be eating inside under these circumstances. At this point hiding is kicking the can down the road, either you get the shot or you get covid...either way it's looking more and more like we are all going to deal with it sooner or later...no hiding until it goes away...doesn't work like that
  5. you are lucky most of the time when I get there I look across from the gas station ...shake my head...and get back on the trail...usually no parking spots there like they are giving something away, have a great trip, i am already missing not being there with you guys, be well, Bob.
  6. really great to see they are ok...could have been a different outcome at 35 below...sounds like some good experienced riders...even a small 4 km adventure can be a big deal to navigate in 4 or 5 feet of snow, going nowhere without snow shoes for sure
  7. leave it at the warming hut Gutz.
  8. I keep them in the drift boat when winter steel head fishing great thermos
  9. Great salmon fishing in Moisie river and trail falls apart on the east side of the river
  10. My friend is a dentist and got a runny nose so he closed and had to wait 9 days to get a test...and was negative...he was closed 2 weeks for nothing...30k loss....only thing I wonder about is in the future if this happens to you when you get to the border ...are they going to say you skipped town on us with a positive test...you cannot come in??? Things are definitely not working the way they need too.
  11. Come on you guys gotta get tough...ice man has been skipping lunch and eating frozen candy bars trail side for years...not kidding!!
  12. Spring trips , last time we went late we were past la tuque on the highway and still no snow...my buddies were getting nervous
  13. Great place....stayed there many times and good place to start from...nothing surprises me anymore...if that's going to happen...a slow time is the best time...a busy season would have made that a terrible situation.
  14. i I still remember my first trip around the Gaspe many years ago and then went thru New Brunswick for 3 more days doing it clockwise, on the trail for 10 days, couldn't get enough of it, still remember what it felt like seeing it all for the first time, things were cheap a couple decades ago and the exchange rate was 156, that has changed but that feeling the first time can't be told, you just have to be there , be safe and enjoy your ride back to the truck, only bad thing for you in the future is not much is as exciting as the Gaspe...Don you have a problem, she is going to want to go back...more and more...you lucky guy!!
  15. You guys are so lucky to be out enjoying the Gaspe together and it looks like you are on the trail almost alone....we are all very jealous!! Have a great trip!!
  16. I see how this works, Mrs ice does all the write up, then takes all the pictures, and Don posts the pictures ...and gets half the points....???
  17. Actually it looks like they are closed, never saw it so empty
  18. no consumption of meals inside or in an adjacent building...for snowmobile relays ?? pretty vague and non de-script...should say take out only...I can see with governmental aid why some will just close...maybe this is just for a few weeks around the holiday?? It will certainly stop a lot of people coming from the US..day trip from Montreal....no problem....this will tighten available lodging for sure. GETTING OLD!!
  19. I rent a lot of VRBO places for hunting and fishing trips the last 2 years and with 3 or 4 friends it has really worked out very nicely
  20. Don, you got to start working on the barbecues and wood at the warming huts!
  21. It's better than nothing but one of the attractions of this whole sport is the hospitality of the outfitters and it's kind of nice being able to sit and eat with fellow like minded people every 150 miles...especially when it's -20 outside....going to hurt financially another winter....how's this going to work when 100 people show up at Repo for lunch....it will take 3 hours....and I feel sorry for them ...all the extra cost and labor to do this...on a moments notice when everything was starting to look so good
  22. #%&*%!!...looks like I'm going to be doing a lot of shooting with my dog and fly fishing out of the drift boat in Altmar for steel head if they shut this down again, this has got to end, around here it acting more like a common cold these days, admittedly there are quite a few new cases in our area...but no one getting hospitalized...more like a 5 day deal and back to work
  23. This could be mistaken for heaven, great pic for sure!!
